Theory: Rock did not turn into HuMan just "because it works" after he started collecting human organs and stuffing them inside himself. Rather, it's the result of three factors: the variable weapon system, his predisposition to being more human-like and more free willed than other robots thanks to Dr Light and possibly, his desire. Allow me to explain: (going bit off track here, also this beginning logic doesnt work depending on where we are in the timeline, maybe this is in megaman 1 and rock has not made many good deeds but) Rock is a good robot, he only ever threatened to hurt wily because he had come back for the like, 7th time in Megaman 7 right? wouldn't make sense for him to go just outright decide "hey today im killing humans and taking their organs!! because im obsessed with being human!!!" no. at this point he's proven to be kind hearted and heroic. what i believe what went down is that: Because of his obsession, Rock grew desperate, maybe got filled with rage? so in this volatile emotional state, Rock accidentally (or not?) takes this out on a fellow human, who obviously dies because Rock is probably the strongest thing alive at this point in time. This death probably occurred where no one would be able to see what he has done and deep in his regret (?) and curiosity, Rock decided to "check out" what makes a human being, so human. Wondering how he could have this humanity for himself, he stuffs the organs inside of him, now here's a thought: *How would he even find the space to stuff the organs inside? he has NO insides aside from gears* and here's where the variable weapon system comes in, the weapon system grants the user a lesser, limited and possibly faulty version of the robot master defeated (killed) right? well, what if that counts for humans too? with this kill, Rock was granted even higher free will, being able to break free from the doctor's wishes (because obv he'd have a line of code telling him to go back home) that "realism" we see from him (possibly because of how using a different weapon in megaman 11 changes your appearance and not just color scheme, adding a new helmet and buster etc.), teeth and all that, along with a sort of "space" inside of him, for him to fit the organs of his victims, who then adapt to him because of the abilities he attained, rearraging themselves (to an extent) every kill to be able to fit the body. Explaining why he's swollen, breathing heavily/gasping/wheezing for air and starting to spill oil out, he's at his limit (possibly could explain the message "WHY IS IT NOT WORKING" that someone else mentioned, dont remember where, but it could explain that with him reaching his body limit, putting in new organs are actually just hurting him, hes no longer able to be "more human" than he already is because he has a lesser version of this "humanity"). It could also just be working cause of his sheer desire to become more human for bs reasons or just because the author wants him to, tho. Going back a bit, after the discovery made by him that he was able to feel more and more human everytime he harvested human beings, he, with his newfound abilities and freewill, decided to go into hiding and be as cautious as possible about every kill he makes, which is why he has already taken 4 months is "hes not ready yet for dad to see him", he has to care about every little detail because he cannot be found out and can only prey on homeless or those out late, so that it all goes according to plan, so that he will be "human enough" for "dad", so that he "lives happily", so that "dad will be happy". It's also why he can't let Roll leave even if he doesnt intend on harming her, he cant let her tell the Doctor because he isnt human yet, hes between the two worlds, an abomination, im pretty sure he wouldnt like being so swole and suspicious or gross out "dad" , he just needs more time to experiment and find a way to finally bridge the gap between robot and human, which is why, if he let roll go, which he did, it'd ruin his whole scheme, because he knows "dad" will be unhappy and he'll be destroyed along with every other creation of Doctor Light, possibly even having the doctor be taken out himself because of his "son's" crimes. sorry for the yapping, i've been thinking about this for a while. love the series!

I have to say it's refreshing but also really weird to see horror about megaman not centered around wily's experiments in the gap between classic and X

Man, I never imagined that Megaman could be scary, seeing such a realistic and depressing place in a game that is known for having super colorful stages and upbeat music is very strange, and this surprisingly fits well with the franchise, since Megaman is set (most of the time) in cities, so exploring this "darker" side of the city was a nice touch. I'm looking forward to the next episode, I never imagined that megaman could have a horror analogue and still be good, keep up the good work!

You see, this is the kind of horror based on classic games I can respect. Most wannabe scary creepypasta-like fangames like this tend to completely deviate from what the source is about and make something so over the top and edgy it actually becomes funny rather than scary. This right here keeps one of the core aspects about said game and builds upon it to make something that could still be believable in-universe, as well as keeping the same art style and overall vibe, unlike some garbage like sonic.exe, for example.

I feel like eventually, Roll is going to end up killing Rock, not out of any command, but from what's left of the old Rock Telling her to, and then Roll gets the Mega Buster, and becomes the new Super Fighting Robot after telling Dr. Light about the crazily horrifying events she had to go through.

id like to remind people that it says "ROLL HAS EXCAPED." as in X instead of S, in white all caps, similar to the text at the title screen, it doesnt seem Roll told Light , and he wouldnt approve , so the white text narrator is either a third person , Roll herself or someone with Roll's memories , my personal theory is that X intencionally let Roll run to a part wihout cameras , then forced her to send a message home saying she was ok before destroying her integrated comunication devices , no way in hell Roll actually escaped. Also Light wouldnt just be sad if X went missing , X has self learning/adjusting/evolving machinery ,he goes on hopeless missions every weekend , his machinery is still bleeding edge like a millenium later, and even then he should just be able to restore an earlier backup , nope Light probably saw the recording of X losing it and killing/eating a person , then X destroyed his own backup, now hes dealing with the fact that eiher 1. X has a soul and he missparented so bad he went insane 2. X does not have a soul and his make believe robot is a serial killer, making him a serial killer
