Dynamo always intrigued me. I remember fighting him first in Mega Man X5 and thinking that he might make a grand entrance in the second to last castle level for the final time to have an epic battle, but it never happened. Also, it's kinda sucky the fact that he adds no impact to the storyline either. He's just some guy who wants to fight you for no reason, just for the fun of it. I mean, yeah he was sent by Sigma to terminate X and Zero, but he ultimately failed just like all the other mavericks. Come on Capcom, at least give him a better backstory or something! We literally know nothing about this guy! And we also see him like ONE other time as a secret boss in X6? Are you kidding me?! Why bother even creating such an awesome character (who is a FAN FAVORITE, in addition to Iris) if his existence adds literally nothing to the plot? It seems like a waste of character development you ask me. A big F in the chat for Dynamo. 😔
agreed, I actually expected him to pop up a last time in Zero Virus stage 2 (the one with that annoying and boring wall as a boss), with a plot twist then making an epic final battle before finally dying and recognizing X as the superior Robot he is. too bad he just ragequits after the second battle... such a wasted potential for a memoring character
Hopefully he comes back in X dive as a playable character as other rival maverick bosses who had similar roles like Vile, Colonel and Bit became playable
A little tidbit. You can also use this boss fight in a save-scumming way to manipulate the RNG of the Enigma Cannon's success rate. Be sure to not save after defeating this boss because if the cannon fails, you can reload the save file and fight Dynamo again. Rinse and repeat until the RNG decides to allow the Enigma to succeed in destroying the colony.
