Elpizo's legit my favorite of the four main villains in Zero. (Well, three. Omega's less a main villain and more Weil's rabid attack dog.) I think that comes down to the fact that he's the only one that isn't just straightforward evil, but I think there's some substance to him. He's basically got the mentality of Sigma, but the fucked up world of the Zero series far better justifies how a man could become something like that than with Sigma. And like, while his going over the deep end is a surprise, it makes total sense when it happens. You see the point where he's pushed over the edge with remorse for the people who died under his watch into madness, and based on how he behaves up to that point, it makes total sense. Even before he snapped, he was overzealous and obsessed with a straightforward fight Neo Arcadia, colatteral be damned. (The only shame is that they don't really explain the context for what happened to him before he joined the Resistance in the games. Gotta go to one of the audio dramas for that last I checked.)
I don't think any of the villains were truly evil except Wile (and even his hatred is somewhat explainable). Copy X is a 10 year old reploid given the reigns to revive a crumbling utopia that was previously governed by the most powerful reploid in history with the main goal of protecting humans due to their physical inferiority and dwindling numbers in comparison to reploids, with the kicker being that he lacked the systems tests and empathy training that the original X underwent.
If I can help with that, the Audio Dramas establish that Elpizo, then a simple grunt called TK-31, deeply loved Neo Arcadia, its orderly nature and the way it was run... until the day he accidentally happened upon classified information regarding the Elf Wars, and was designated for scrapping as a result. When the very society he loved marked him as a dissident for something not entirely of his own volition, _Elpizo bloody snapped, and desired to change the world, renaming himself with the very codename of the forbidden knowledge that had damned him from his beloved Neo Arcadia._ In addition, a later Audio Drama featuring the thoughts of the Eight Gentle Judges reveals that TK-31/Elpizo's accident had far-reaching consequences: the Neo Arcadian government deemed that his model production line was likely to commit more errors leading to what they deemed high treason, and so _damned the whole production line to being scrapped._ Even the Judges, before Weil reprogrammed them to his plans, were appalled with having to pass this judgment.
@@MrCat-zz5eo Maverick Wars/Elf Wars = The Clone Wars. the events of the Zero series that I dubbed The Neo Arcadia Wars = Galactic Civil War. Anakin=Zero X=Obi Wan (this parts a stretch IG lol but not really I mean when u think about it...)
Elpizo is the anti-zero in a way.... like a dark foil. Think about it; they both destroyed X, stormed Neo Arcadia, have sabers, long blood hair, are reploids, have their own theme, fought for the resistance and fought zero as an enemy.
1:08 Right when the soundtrack Combusted👌🔥 I like how Zero reacted right when Elpizo struck into his best friend. I felt that as well. In the end, Zero still forgave Elpizo after what happened. Elpizo is actually the only antagonist that I liked in the Zero series and to have a theme like this is just awesome.
TK-31: My name is... no... as a member of the Neo Arcadia City Management Bureau, I have no name. But if a name is just a means of solid-state recognition, then I have a model number, TK31. I suppose this string of numbers is my name. In order to maintain the ideal city for humans on a permanent basis, a strict control system is required, consisting of a large number of mass-produced Reploids like us and a group of privileged Reploids with real names. A human society filled with peace of mind and a Reploid society replaced by numbers and highly functionalized. I loved this sublimely beautiful and well-managed city, Neo Arcadia, as well as its system. That is, until the moment when I engraved that word as my name!
I knew Elpizo would be the "bad guy" the second his face appeared. He's got that "shadowy illumination" on his face that marks him as evil (or could-become-evil).
More than that, it's also how that burning desire for power is burning him up from the inside. Wiki notes that the beats of this song is similar to "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" from Kill Bill. A fitting comparison, considering Elpizo's rampage in the game's second half is him revenging himself upon the Neo Arcadia that rejected him, the Neo Arcadia he loved before it cast him aside; and his mad lust for power that drives him to shed his honorable traits.
@@MrCat-zz5eo Lust for power and revenge will eventually burn away the one who possesses them in his / her heart. When they reach their zenith (if you can call it that), *COMBUSTION IS IMMINENT.*
It would be awesome if the Dark Elf, sensing Elpizo's purity, decided to revive him along with X. Then Elpizo is seen crossing the desert with X in his arms, while this song plays. Now that would be an epic entrance.
I know this is extremely old, but X by this point in the series literally just wanted to rest. He was tired from hundreds of years of fighting. It's dark, but...X wished for death. If the Mother Elf revived him, he'd suffer.
I dunno, at first glance, everything about Elpizo seems like he should have been a crap character. He's weak-looking, appears to lack judgement, and fails as a commander. As the game progresses, though, they give him alot of interesting things to do, even destroying X's body (which is sad, but done properly). There's just enough to make you hate this guy but also feel some sympathy for him. Two awesome pieces of music seal the deal.
no t really,Elpizo wasn't really a bad guy like Sigma or Weil, and he was the one to kill X which everybody tried to kill. and i guess its better for X to be killed by him that by someone like Weil XP
dr light must be rolling in his grave at that and in the after life he prolly freaked dr light: seriously...he died in a coma I FUCKING SPENT 8 BILLION DOLLARS ON RESEARCH AND MANUFACTURING ON X AND HE GETS FUCKING STABBED WHILE IN A COMA. thats it no ya know what im done Mega Man classic: you still have me doctor dr light: aww well can you magically shit out another 8 billion dollars and resurrect me? no didnt think so bye
Shame x died to this song u would think he would die by sigma sort of a sad ending for such a legend btw anyone know a downloadable link for this song or where to find it at?
Late reply, but if you're still looking for a download link might I suggest this following site. downloads.khinsider.com/ Just look for Rockman Remastered Soundtrack and you should find it rather quick.
This version, imo, isn't as good as the original. It lacks the grand show like feel and flamboyance of the original. No offense to anyone, I still love this version and am very flamboyant myself.
Cackletta's Other Greatest Pupil One of my favorite things about Elpizo was that he was a showman, not a fighter or a leader. His charisma could rally people to his side, but beyond that, there wasn't much he could do.
