With the entire cast replaced and the animation downgraded, do you believe we should have gotten a sequel years ago, or that Megamind was better served as a single film and a short film?
They should have kept it as the film/short film and maybe should have stook with the original plans for the series unlike the "film" and series we have now.
@@ELjour1455 Well, I'm just some Old Chancellor, what could ol' me possibly bring to the table? It's not like I'm Incredibly powerful in the Force or anything
@@flargarbason1740 I think it's because Megamind fixed it, remember that it was Minion who built the Death Ray, which had a flaw because it needed to be charged.
@@giannicarbonara7342 Chex Quest is a FPS game made to promote the Chex cereal back in the 90s and early 2000s it is included inside the box of cereal, the game is essentially a *family friendly* clone of the original Doom (keyword: *clone* NOT a rip-off) the mechanics is similar with the only major difference being it's story, the levels, and the skin of the enemies and weapons, it's a friendly alternative for kids since the original Doom back then were marketed as a grown-ups game, and wouldn't you know it the game is surprisingly a success and it eventually grow into a trilogy, because even though it's made to promote the cereal they actually use the Gameplay first advertisement second system
If one thing megamind has that probably is as great as his inteligence, it’s that fucking endurance, but I guess that’s what you get for fighting a super-man lookalike from pretty much his entire life
Megamind is definetly superhuman himself at least endurance wise, 0:05 he was completely unharmed after launching off a robot hundreds of feet into the air that is at least 70 feet tall, likely weighs 300,000 to 400,000 pounds at least and gets stomped and not even a scratch it is really amazing how durable Megamind is.
Unironically, I think metroman is stronger than Superman. He move faster than the speed of light. Significantly so. Although superman occasionally is wildly inconsistent
Technically it did, you could see the powering-up wasn't instantaneous after the focusing thing was extended, it took a few moments to get to full power, probably due to needing to charge capacitors to get the required electric current.
More likely the battery was fully charged from being in wait so long, in the movie, he had just built it, and didn't have any preexisting charge, that's my idea anyway.
I agree with the theory. It needed to fire once to prime the system, so now... he can take out targets with it a little more sooner provided he makes sure it charges.
Exactly! I haven’t seen this before and I haven’t seen the original in almost a decade, but I remember for a fact that the Death Ray took a stupid amount of time to warm up.
It was a Dreamworks short film in which Megamind has an evil yard sale to get rid of all his evil inventions, he believes that since he’s no longer evil, he no longer needs devices and machines that do evil. Megamind proceeds to sell his evil stuff to the civilians of Metro city, the flamethrower goes to the chef, the kicking torture machine goes to the soccer team, and the dehydration gun goes to a kid who accidentally zapped his mom with it, the only things that weren’t sold were the death ray and a strange device with a button on it. Megamind reveals that he made a new super suit designed to cop all of Metromans powers, boots for flight, gloves for strength, and glasses for X-ray/laser vision. Megamind presses the button out of curiosity, it starts floating and a holographic head of Megamind appears, it flies away rambling on about something it refers to as the “unspeakable evil”. This is revealed to be a giant robot that the button puts itself into called the “Mega Megamind”, the evil personality of the original person put into a giant robot, but due to Megaminds super suit the robot recognizes him as Metroman, after a short (and painful) battle for Megamind, the MMM (Mega Megamind) forces him to retreat into his lair, the robot is programmed to never stop until it destroys the hero, Minion tells Megamind that he shouldn’t try to be a hero by being someone else and just be himself, and to help him with this, Minion reveals another thing he never sold, the Spider-bot, lastly, they plan to destroy the MMM using the Death Ray. Megamind, riding the Spider-bot, leads the MMM to the site in where Metroman originally faked his death, the MMM attacks with a special crossbow type weapon that uses civilian vehicles as ammunition, after the MMM is lead to the original observatory. But there was a slight problem, Megaminds super suit smashed the Death Ray controls and the remote for said laser is mixed up with a bunch of other remotes, so Minion has to find the correct remote while Megamind fights for his life to keep the MMM busy, after Minion finds the remote, Megamind tricks the MMM into shooting him off its crossbow to get away and then Minion fired the Death Ray, destroying the MMM in a fiery explosion. Megamind and Minion go to get their evil stuff back, they barge into the house of that kid who brought the dehydration gun who also is throwing a party because he dehydrated the parents of himself and his friends, Megamind takes his stuff back and fixed the kids parents. The short ends with Megamind and Minion driving away in the Invisible Car, laughing happily as they see a superhero signal designed just for them Even though the short was only a couple minutes long it felt like a full length film and that’s what’s great about it I hope you acknowledge this reply because it took forever to type
The sequel would have talk about megamind wanted to be LIKE Metroman and understanding that he only needs to be himself to do all the impossible, possible
This is almost as close to the tier of the first megamind, winch is almost perfect, but this is much, MUCH better than the gosh darn zombified turd known as the "sequel"
I always wonder how good at being evil mega mind could have been if he never saw it as an act. Like he was an actual villain and not just being apart an act like he saw it as.
I personally love this fight better than Megamind vs Tighten, I think most of that comes out the fact that the villain technically IS Megamind which makes it more fun, not to mention he’s given more of a fighting chance here
As much i would love to see a sequel to Megamind, couldn't we get a series based on the film instead? Boss Baby gets too much installments nowadays and that's an embarrassment.
I may have sadly outgrown DreamWorks for awhile due to complicated reasons now but I'll still cherish the memories I had with it's 2D/Aardman movies and it's 3D shorts like this and the Monsters vs Aliens shorts. 1:46-1:49 Wise words Minion, Wise words :)
Every time they are asked why megamind 2 is not in the works, they say it is because of sales. Megamind is unique and still rivals new animated flicks today! That says something! Not to mention, the huge following it has gained over the years! Yes, megamind was overlooked on release and it was not appreciated like it should have been, BUT that is no longer the case! Ya'll better make it or I will be forced into a internetcommandoguygonecrazy state, which is rather unpleasant. I need my fix. Provide it, please.
I remember when I was like 7 or 8 when I watched this short film on Netflix. Which also included shorts for Monsters vs Aliens and Shrek. Ah, those were the days.
