0:27 I love how when Megamind finds out that Metro Man’s “weakness” is copper, he doesn’t try to take the credit, he legitimately asks him if he’s serious
FYI, Elizabeth the Second was NEVER the Queen of England... ...that's why the joke is so good. Tighten is actually correct. "Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith." Elizabeth II was queen of the United Kingdom, among other nations. This is because of the legal ramifications of the Act of Union of 1707... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acts_of_Union_1707 Legally, England isn't the nation. Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the nation...
@@dclark142002 FYI, England is a country within the UK, meaning she still was. England's status within the UK is "Part of a constitutional monarchy, direct government exercised by the government of the United Kingdom" While the other countries within the UK, Scotland, Wales, and NI all have first ministers, England does not. And each of these countries have their own anthems that are played during football matches. England's anthem is currently God Save the King as the leader of England is the monarch.
@@dclark142002 I assure you, the royals don't care about you. So stop caring about them and defending them for their VILE past. MAKE THEM PAY TAXES AND GIVE THE PALACES TO THE PEOPLE
I've only ever seen the first five minutes. The 'Yep, that's me, you're probably wondering how I got here' but I can tell from all the memes ; Megamind is Metropolis's villian Eventually he takes out Metro Man. Except Metro Man just got tired Somebody else made that ginger kid a superhero He takes on Megamind Wins Megamind impersonates Metroman Megamind eventually defeats Snotty boy glow up ginger.
Yeah, to be honest there's been relatively few good sequels from movies in general. Fans begged for more from a standalone movie, and received "more." Still, DreamWorks didn't have to do him dirty by making stuff up and not trying at all.
Him not getting chosen over a crippled kid is the equivalent of a super smart kid not getting accepted into college because a kid can throw a ball really far.
I think it was both for commentary as well as comedy. In real life circumstances, there have been certain marginalized groups that have been way more focused on Than others, basically not really truly fulfilling the intention of making sure everyone feels equal, you know? This especially happened a lot in the 60s, 70s 80s and even 90sOnto the 2000s. This is especially notable in the 80s, 90s and 2000s era, as at that point, there have been plenty of effort done generally speaking at least in the US to help minimize division and racism and other kinds of prejudices but the races are mostly focused on Black people and really didn’t pay much attention to other marginalized groups and I know not all of these are races but still shouldn’t be ignored,People of Asian descent, People of Latin background, Jews of any kind (especially was a double whammy if you were Jewish and nonwhite, as even to this day there is the stereotype that you’re not really Jewish unless you have a certain set of appearances, Which is obviously hurtful and offensive), members of LGBT, etc. If anyone remembers this era at all at any point of it, you will definitely vividly remember either being the one bullied or witnessing bullying or unfortunately, may have been a part of it but hopefully have come to terms with it and have repented for it and changed your ways. So anyway from what I can remember, during that era, there was such a hyper focus on being inclusive towards physically and mentally disabled children and black children to the point that other marginalized groups didn’t get enough attention paid to them in order to help make the other, more often Caucasian kids at the time, more aware that such things could be hurtful and they’re not just jokes regardless of the intention, and it’s not right to exclude anyone for any reason. I know things have changed quite a lot from then, but I’m explaining what could potentially been a social commentary, and Megamind probably would have been growing up in the 70s and 80s rather than 80s 90s or 2000s, as he is 30 some years old Gen Xer in this film. For Gen Xers also, this was a prevalent problem, but at the time, a lot of Gen Xers brushed it off and still carry a lot of the trauma of that kind of divisiveness today. By the way something totally unrelated except for Megamind related, does anyone else think Megamind looks like Jeffrey Jay by any means?
Nah bro, its just a person not getting picked just because the class dont like him. Happened to me a lot during elementary and high school. And all of us were white and straight.
Some Megamind facts: A whole crew of animators was dedicated solely to the movement of capes. When Megamind is channel surfing towards the end of the movie, he comes upon a news report of a squirrel water skiing. This is a reference to another Will Ferrell movie The Anchorman where Will as Ron Burgundy does a report on a water-skiing squirrel. The film was finally released in June 2018 in Japan, after nearly seven years. It was supposed to be released in March 2011, but was cancelled due to the devastating earthquake that happened at the time. Instead of voicing his character from within a sound booth, Brad Pitt, insisted on using a handheld microphone for his performance and roaming around the studio.
Schaff explains this very well, it is a headcanon but one that makes sense, basically, Metro Man didn't even try, he wanted to get caught because that would force him to explain himself to the people that needed some kind of explanation or closure the most.
@@mr.mustardcustard8564 the joke is it's the only name megamind could trademark and he says titan, but the only time we see it spelled it's tighten. Either hal is stupid and thinks it's tighten, or megamind couldn't trademark titan and so went with tighten. Both are possible jokes, and he is referred to as tighten in other places like captions.
@@JETS5 The proplem with those adaptations is that it can ruin the original and a large group of people will think that it's the actual thing. Like what Disney did. Or what is done all the fucking time with ATLA
It did recently at AMC Star Great Lakes 25 where that billboard poster for that movie was there for 14 years got took down, so they re-release it in honour of it.
Cant believe a single movie can have this much memes Edit: for the love of god I didn't said only megamind has many memes I mean't most movies have THIS MUCH memes
I recall this movie being quite underrated when it came out, so it's great that there's so many memes about it now. There's been even more memes since this video came out.
iirc Megamind’s popularity suffered from a tragic coincidence of being released in close proximity to “despicable me”, which had a similar topic and, most importantly, very marketable mascots, and the average viewer chose minions over quality :(
I too must agree! IT would be such a shame if a horrendous sequel that didn't understand a single portion of this wonderful story was released! Good thing that'll never happen.
She never was Queen of England anyway. It's been just one part of a new larger kingdom for over three centuries. The funny part of this scene is that he's right but only because he's an idiot.
@@thegoldendiamond6762 there it is everybody, The guy who got trigger over someone who watch animation from Japan and try to find every minor grammar mistake!
Because deep down Megamind always wanted the ability to be a good guy. And so when he sees someone take that opportunity he wish he had for granted, it disgusts him in a way.
Disney: The world’s not big enough for TWO iconic animation studios! Dreamworks: Oh you’re an animation studio, just not ICONIC! Disney: Yeah, what’s the difference? Dreamworks: PRESENTATION
Why is this extremely accurate to someone at my school? He looks like an overdramatic 1900's nun at a funeral, and talks like a psychopathic maniac regularly. Particularly at my school's Fall Festival, he was an astonishingly uncanny clown with the most hideous laugh and frightening jumpscares. That dude is awesome.
The whole entire Megamind 2 should be the only Megamind meme. Just like what Titan said, “There is no Easter Bunny, there is no ToothFairy, and there is no Megamind 2!”
I too get up in the morning wearing the most terrifying supervillain suit ever created, towering over my bots to remind myself that I'm going to fight a hero I created
