These videos are great! Keep doing them! -5.25 down to - 4.25, all thanks to the hard work you've put in on the site and with these videos, we'll and habit changes from me. Thank you!
Thanks Jake! Thanks Megan! I was about to quit a few months ago, but suddenly the 2 seconds of clarity became 5 seconds. So I decided to continue. I've been at this for a year and a half, but I think it has to do with not consciously doing active focus when I'm busy and working. These interviews are really keeping me motivated.
Incredibly valuable! The great thing about these videos it that it allows others who are in a similar myopic situation to see it’s 100% possible for them. Definitely looking forward for more to come.
-9 here. I was daunted by the prospect of regularly changing my glasses. This is such a good idea. Thank you Megan. Your reduction within such a reasonable time frame too is inspirational.
Megan and Jake, I'd like to leave a comment regarding the use of sunglasses. I live in one of the cataract capitals of the world, Southern California, and I've been at the endmyopia method for two years and have reduced about 3 diopters using sunglasses for virtually all of my outdoor active focus practice. I believe that if we were outdoors in lush green environments, with no painted white surfaces, no shiny polished cars, no window glass, then we would not "need" sunglasses for optimal eye health. I believe that it is excessive reflection of the sun from all of our artificial constructions that necessitate the use of sunglasses. Great interview Jake, thank you for your story Megan. Dawn
Can you please tell me that how did you reduce your diopters and what was your routine and if any regular habits that you changed and also mention about the glasses and your reduction
Thank you to all that asked how I am doing :-) last year I went to the optometrist and she told me I was 20/40 and I told her not to bother filling out a script since I was only wearing glasses for driving or if I really want to crisp-up a beautiful landscape, for which I wear -0.5 or -0.75 (pre-endmyopia was -4.25). I stopped practicing active-focus because I'm happy with my vision and like that I don't need correction for close-up (at 65, everyone I know has to use readers!) I've stayed true to my original post and have been wearing sunglasses only around those reflective surfaces, but I'm immersed in human constructions since I live in a highly populated area. So happy! Thank you so much Jake, you led the way to changing my life is such a positive way!
The idea of the clips is just amazing. Ultimately we can all make a DYI clip on glasses, just need to find some metalic light weight ones and break the 2 legs and find a creative way of attaching to our main glasses.
Do you found an cheap optician who have frames like this? And how do you detached it to your glasses? Pls let me know :) I was wondering the same thing because its hard to get clip-ons with +0.5 diopters tho.
"Smart phones" seem to be making people dumb...which is ironic. Dont have to remember how to spell words anymore because of autocorrect and suggestions etc. Dont need to remember phone numbers or anything
You know I used the same phone number for 14 years. One of the main reasons I do that is so people don't forget my phone number. I have a friend who pretty much been calling me on my phone for over a decade. He lost my number and had no idea what my phone number was. I was like dude I had the same phone number for over a decade. He's the one that keeps changing his phone number. I'll have it memorize then he'll get a new number.
@@imaminion6096 Hey, not the person you asked and I actually wanna talk about something else. I was about -6 at around your age and I'm currently 21 and at -9. Haven't done endmyopia but am planning to. Myopia doesn't stabilize until early 20s so make sure you see an eye doctor who can help slow the progression of myopia. Unfortunately, my opticians saw my rapid progression but did not even think to suggest use of atropine drops or multifocal lenses to slow them down. You need to do everything you can to prevent it from going above -6. The higher it gets, the greater the risk of serious eye complications.
@G E T R E K T I reintroduced sweet potato very recently after a couple years pure carnivore. I think once you've reset your stomach biome you can reintroduce things. Plus exercise without carbs is a bit rubbish
So just to confirm - Megan's glasses are her Normaliseds - and the clip ons are an extra diopter or so stronger for night driving etc? Or are the base glasses her Differentials and the clip ons to give her Normaliseds?
I’m guessing you primarily use contact lenses? I think contact lenses give a better range of peripheral vision and therefore less astigmatism. But, contact lenses also have their own problems... all the best
I loved this Podcast series and it really motivates people like us who want to be part of reduction journey. I have a doubt, i am not able to understand how to start initially?
Megan's use of clip-ons seems to be that she uses negative clip-ons. Seems like having plus lens clip-ons also would help with fine-tuning for differential use as well.
Hey jack, can you please try to put up all things to be done by the myopians to get rid of glasses cuz u haven't even put a separate playlist on end myopia with step by step videos, those videos are all scattered in your channel making hard to understand what is to be done. So, please do a seperate video no problem if it is hours long cuz I'm desperate to get rid these glasses but not understanding what or which video is relevant to my myopia with -5 now.
another great episode! Thank you Megan and Jake! Here's my theory on astigmatism: I heard that optometrists don't sell toric contacts for low rates of cylinder correction. That would mean it's easier to induce astigmatism when you wear glasses and you end up with less astigmatism if you've started to use contacts full time since early in your "myopic career". Does this make sense?
I believe this to be true. I never really wore any glasses, just contacts and I got up to -6 with them and never had any astigmatism really. Compared to others with even lower diopters who have worn glasses, many people have worsening of astigmatism over the years of wearing them.
The comment on glasses blocking the UV is interesting I know Dr. Huberman mentioned that glasses don't block the sun's benefits since the point of glasses is to focus light onto the eye.
Two benefits: #1 full natural light spectrum. #2, UV exposure. You won't get #2 properly behind glasses. Though the exact benefits and needed exposure are not definitive.
It is very hard to meet the right friendly optomitrist. They are not willing to drop too much power despite I explain to them I need a reduced reading glasses just enough for me to read.
She mentions corrections from -9.25 to -6.50. Why does the title say -10.00 to -6.00? The actual improvement is interesting enough. Don’t need to exaggerate the title 😕 Did I hear it wrong?
-9 in contacts is the equivalent to -10 in glasses. Since she is wearing glasses now and not contacts, he just converted the contact prescription to glasses prescription. The title is not exaggerated. Actually, with most of these interviews, I noticed the interviewer uses the lower numbers mentioned so as to downplay the improvements.
NoxiousNova ah indeed there’s the difference between contacts and glasses. That explains the discrepancy for the starting correction. But if I heard right, she mentioned a current glasses correction of -6.5, so not sure where the -6.0 in the title comes from.
@@Challenging2024 Lol, don't ask me. I'm not an optometrist. I'm a -1.75 myself. Anyone can reduce their myopia. You just shouldn't give up, cuz change will be reaaalllyyy slow for some people. I wanna do some more research on what to do, but I gotta study for 9th board.
I’m down from -7.25 left, -7.75 right to -5.75 both eyes. Started Nov 2019. It works, it’s science. Endmyopia.org, sign up for the seven day email and start your journey. Usually the first diopter goes quickly, then about -0.75 to 1 diopters after that per year
Just by looking at the thickness of the glassses u could tell she is not wearing anywhere near the glasses of -6. It seems like everyone is reading a script. I am sorry but i dont think these are genuine...
Jake Steiner by thickness, I meant that her glasses doesnt demagnify that much for a -6.... I heard about you around three years ago and have incorporated your techniques in my daily life for the past 1 1/2 years i have been wearing reduced lenses for closeup work. And apart from reducing headaches it hasnt reduced my prescription at all, it may have stopped from getting worse. You know angie hepp hasn’t shown any real improvement and she’s an OG. So dont write me off like i m some jackoff from the street.
@@darkstar7197 my glasses prescription are -11.25 in one eye and -11.75 in the other. I wear high index lenses- that are way thinner. Of course you pay a lot more for them- a price you have to pay if you want thinner lenses with a complex high prescription
@Rob hahaha... Step 1 throw ypur phone out the window Step 2 go out and pick up your phone Step 3 check out the car license plate or the street sign Step 4 reduce ur lenses by - 0.25 Step 5 repeat step 1 through step 4. Good luck
