The Jake Origin Story: I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

I did some digging into photo syntonic for myopia, and as Dr. Julie self-professed, results are limited (to perhaps slowing progression): nowhere near the reversals like we see with endmyopia. She could help even more people if she adds endmyopia's tenants of active focus to her practice. Stay undiplomatic Jake! We like you that way :) Dawn

A great thing you both are doing. A side note - the lens "scam" has two key components: 1. They make u dependent, and 2. they sell you frames. The sales "professionals" somehow always tell people that their faces look muuuuuch better en frames at $146.99 than something normal at $45. I mean it is a complete disaster.

Good one! Glad to hear that there's another optometrist out there who wants to help people reduce diopters. When she says that she gives everyone a prescription, I wonder what that would look like for someone who comes in seeing 20/40 or so with ciliary myopia only. @@rajatr5003It's still going pretty good, my eyesight steadily keeps improving, going through the last diopter now. AF is very very effective and probably the most important in getting my vision back, especially when doing it for a couple of hours at a time, for me it works best when I deliberately go somewhere and start focusing on things around me at a nice distance (i prefer buildings a few km away the most) . I really like to look at things that I can see less clearly and try to see them better by blinking at them in a relaxed way because after a few tries I can and everything else closeby clears up a lot as well. So I would say Af is great for getting improvements.

So it's 2020, what a great year to go back to 20/20 :D *_tl;dr How much can should I reduce and can I do it with lenses instead of glasses? I'm currently using -2.5 lenses on both eyes when outside/work and -1.5/-1.75 at home only when on PC, otherwise "naked"._* Maybe I should give it a try again. I don't know how much to reduce though. Last time I went for prescription was like 6-7 years ago and since then I wear my lenses (-2.5 both eyes) while outside/at school/university/work/etc. At home I still use my old glasses (-1.5 left / -1.75 right) for PC only. When I'm not on PC I don't use anything. My vision hasn't improved for the ~7 years I'm doing it, but it hasn't gotten (much if at all) worse either, I easily passed the eye test for driver license, without active focus cheating, but I was kinda lucky, it was one of those days where vision is really good.

Nowadays, I am not wearing glasses anymore since last 7 days, and now I can focus on a small text on my laptop at a distance of 68.5cm. I feel my take is wrong and more suttle things have to be incorporated. What am I doing wrong? I guess I am cutting corners. I am near sighted but no longer choose to use glases. But I can make distant images clear just by focusing with one eye alone. I do this on the line of sight by bringing the image closer as I focus. Think of target shooting. So with both eyes open, it is a double image, but it is in focus. Like viewing a X-eyed type stereograph. I would like to decode this optical finding of mine. Do optical glasses combine these two sharp images for me, and if so, do I have to gradually train the brain to bring them back together? I ask this, since I noticed the target of focus moving slightly to the side and also getting smaller in size so I know it is optical as is with minus lenses. Is this active focus thing entirely a different thing. You never see a clear image, but gradually push the borderline distance of fuzzy and clear hoping the brain to catch up. I can understand a drawing and am familiar with optical theory. But I do not know what my own body is trying to tell me nor what is the difference between the science and my own perception. I would like someone (who sees where I am going with this) to comment. My most gratitude and deepest appologies for your lost time
