That "great men are forged in fire" bit is beautiful. It's a shame Ecclestone didn't come back but Hurt played that war damaged vulnerable character to perfection.

"I swear if Rose comes back..." "or if David Tennant comes back..." "What if, like, ALL the Doctors come back?" You sure you haven't seen this before, Megan? :P That was hilarious, I was laughing pretty hard at hearing that. I bet he had a hard time keeping a straight face at that.

That scene with Tom Baker always gets me. It shows so many of the things that made his Doctor so engaging.

Capaldi being the next Doctor had been announced several months earlier. The fact he was coming wasn’t going to be a surprise, but the brief cameo in the 50th was a surprise.

I had a feeling Megan was going to like this. This is such a beautiful, fun, emotional story. Arguably Moffat's best writing. And the Peter Capaldi and Tom Baker cameos were the icing on the cake. All in all, a very fitting 50th anniversary celebration. :D

I've always loved how the song playing when they think of the plan to save Gallifrey is essentially the shepherd boy. well, a derivative of what will be the song. it's nice to see Murray golds work evolve through the years

My roommate at the time was a huge Tom Baker fan and her reaction killed us. He appeared and she THREW HER DRINK AT THE TELEVISION. Thankfully it was an almost empty plastic cup so it didn't even make it there, but she was responsible for cleaning the carpet after lol.

I Chesterton, a cleat reference to Ian Chesterton, one Susan's teachers who, along with he cohort Barbra Wright, begins the whole Who saga. I've always thought that, as Clara has no formal training as a teacher, the Doctor called in a favour to get her the job.

Additionally, Ten saying he didn't like the way 11 redecorated the interior of the TARDIS is itself a call back to another anniversary special. In The Five Doctors, 2 drops in to the the Brigadier at UNIT HQ just before he retires. As he's leaving ALS's office, 2 two looks around and declaims, "You've had this place redecorated, haven't you? I don't like it." This is mere moments after the the Brigadiers replacement and commenting that , "...mine was pretty unpromsing too."

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the 3D showing in the cinema, the atmosphere in the cinema when we heard Tom Baker's booming voice was electric. Tom was, and always will be 'my' Doctor.

I just loved how, at the very end of "Day Of The Doctor" they called back to the very end of "The Five Doctors", with the doll-like figures standing on a mist-covered table.

megans reaction at the very end was just perfect!!!

I originally remember being so upset that it was only going to be Ten and Eleven in the special with Hurt in place of Eccleston, but the love and care that went into all the references to all the Doctors, the usage of the archive footage to put the old Doctors into the show, Capaldi's cameo, and of course Tom Baker's absolutely lovely ending scene as the Curator -- it really shows that Moffat really wanted to show the fans how much this show means and is loved throughout all of its years on air.

This episode still gives me goosebumps every time!

The line about the TARDIS ("To anyone who hears it Doctor. Anybody. However lost. Even you.") always gets me for some reason. I've never been sure why!

Finally, you may have noticed to unsual decoration on the gallery walls at the end. There is some speculation that the whole gallery is in fact the TARDIS interior, given that the Curator appears to be one of the Dcotors in retirement.

Yo! You guys should watch "Doctor Who ! Gallifrey Stand" by The Confession Dial Reimagining version of the Doctors saving Gallifrey, with the two upcoming doctors, but you know them already, so... yeah :v

Honestly, the way multiple threads of many eras are tied up in a way that makes total sense is sublime storytelling. One question remains, though, if The Curator is a future doctor again, 11 won't remember that conversation about the painting. Clearly, the notion of finding Gallifrey remains in there somewhere, but the conversation is forgotten. It absolutely doesn't remove any weight from the 9th, in my opinion, arguably it's that pain provides the impetus for Rose joining etc in the future.

And thus, we see why, in Journey’s End, the Daleks tried to destroy the TARDIS in Z-Neutrino energy: the Doctor eventually started using the TARDIS to *DECAPITATE DALEKS!*

I know you plan on reacting to Torchwood, but maybe between S9 and S10 you could react to Class too :) and ofc SJA

I have to say, as someone who's been a massive Doctor Who fans since the 1980s, it really kills me watching all these reactors getting excited over Tennant's return after a couple of years and then going "Who the hell is that?" when Tom Baker pops up.

Day of the Doctor is my absolute favorite of the new series. It's amazing. I do wish Eccleston were there, but it was amazing nonetheless. That ending shot with all of the Doctors is one of my screensavers.

Will y’all do the Sarah Jane Adventures after Torchwood? It’s very much a kids show, but there are a handful of episodes good enough that they deserve more reactions

Two things, first is we finally know why Liz the First wanted to kill him at the end of The Shakespeare Code. Secondly is where did the fez come from? Seriously where did it come from? It was in the museum then went back to 1562 then to the Time War and back again to 1562. Where it stayed until Liz the First put it in the under gallery because she thought it was a threat to humanity. So the Doctor can throw it back in time. It's a paradox and has bugged me for nearly seven years. I love this so much and another great reaction. Next time the oh next time. Can't wait and must give Moffat huge credit he pulled it off. Not an easy task and considering his first plan fell apart and had to rewrite the 50th.
