I'm from Atlanta and I live here. Homeless people have lived in and around the airport for about 20 years. It became a problem when shelters in the area shut down. It's gotten better over the last few years as people aren't blatantly sleeping on the recliners outside the main TSA checkpoints but they still hang out outside the North gates and lower levels going toward the parking decks. Mayor Lance Buttoms took steps to work with local shelters but more work needs to be done to help those people, especially since they are a major target for sex trafficking. Now that is a bigger issue at our airport and needs to be addressed first
The homless problem is also big in Arizona California and Colorado and the issue in all states is lack of public housing and lack of mental health care services for people who are struggling with mental health
The government never should have relinquished the housing market into the hands of the private market because homeowners don’t want public housing to go up in fear of their housing values going down. The private market, that includes everyday people, want housing to be scarce because it increases their housing value.
Thank u to everyone in this thread for not vilifying people in need of help. The government is supposed to help homeless people, not villainise them. And other citizens deserve safety just as much.
He's suing for wages because that is easier to prove than sexual harassment. He's spilling details like her having sex while he was in the car to set a precedent of a hostile work environment.
So dude said Meg told him to keep quiet about what happened in the car. He then says his wages were cut because of what he seen. Why would she tell him to keep quiet and cut wages. If anything his wages would stay the same or increase because he is holding private info.
The problem with the homeless in the airport is not only are they harassing people they’re also practicing unsanitary habits. I’m not paying $$$ for an airline ticket to feel like I’m at the Greyhound bus station.
@@DioneDion13 I agree, but there is a segment of the homeless population that are struggling with mental illness and allowing them to roam about is not safe for the public. This situation on many levels can be a public nuisance. As a consumer I shouldn’t have to deal with that.

I live in Atlanta, and I've never seen a homeless person at or around the airport. If you want a good experience at the airport, you have to fly out before 7 AM or after 7 PM.

I believe this camera man is a disgruntled employee. He used salacious claims to garner headlines about unpaid wages. If he has unpaid wages, legally you owe him. He deserves to be paid! I got some questions…. He says he was doing the same amount of work, but how can this be verified? Megan has openly talked about being with women, why is it such an issue to get out to the public? How you get your cat ate in moving vehicle? How you can verify your structure changed due to this incident, who stated since you saw that “act” we change your pay? I live in Atlanta and the homeless hanging in the airport is pretty bad. They have easy access because the Marta train literally takes you to the airport doors. When traveling , I refuse to use the bathroom until I get to the gate because it's so unsanitary. The homeless in Atlanta really have no where to go because all of the shelters have been shut down and that's the real problem but I don't want to be harass while trying to get to the gate or my car.

When I hear stories about unhoused people or people living in food deserts, it always pains me because you see the local, state and federal government make it rain on other countries and will tell their constituents they have no money. Actually, Greyhound closed stations all over the country. Our bus station was in a vital downtown location, I know they sold the land for millions. Now the bus picks you up in the parking lot of the Amtrak park and ride.
The atl airport situation is wild. Since 911 i didn’t think you could hang around airports like that especially hubs like atl. I’m in the Detroit area and dtw is very strict. If you’re not working or flying you’re not getting that far inside. It’s also in the middle of nowhere 😂hopefully they can find a solution. Atl is so expensive too. Clearly housing to make a big change 😢
"Valid business" means anything that's approved or authorized to handled at the airport. For instance, during C19 some airlines offered vaccination to their employees and it was done at the airport. So things along those lines.
I'm actually going to ATL tomorrow morning. Due to its being the busiest airport that's something they shouldn't have to deal with and are not equipped to handle. Safety first at all time. We need more shelters and resources i.e substance abuse treatment, mental health resources and housing resources.

I live in Atl. I go through the airport at least 4x a week. I feel like they these new restrictions are gonna put an eye on black people period. I see the houseless at the airport but I’ve never been bothered. If I have a give, if I don’t have, I keep it pushing.
Its so strange to see and hear stories of America’s homeless crisis and we from the outside, are seeing the billion$ being sent overseas. I remember not too long ago, Chicago was having the same crisis as well as at their airports. Housing has become a global issue.
Im from Atlanta and live there now. I was in LA for a while too until recently. ATL was worse from the early 2000s until about 6 or 7 years ago. You couldn't find a seat in the large atriums outside the TSA gates. It just got better.
I went to LA once and that airport ride share is/was a mess. I remember having to catch a bus to the parking lot to catch my Lyft. I felt like a refugee

I live in Georgia and live closer to the international side of the airport. That's where I go when I'm traveling. They take your bags even if you're traveling domestically. It's quicker on that side

It does come across that it was all cool until he wasn't making as much money and then fired. That being said, it's also possible that he wasn't being paid properly and is owed for that. Hey cousin, to answer your question “how can tell the difference between the unhoused , or someone doing a pickup , or business?” You can’t , but security can ask who/what/were/why are you here, and most people picking someone up are told the gate where to be, and if their still there hours later ask them to leave , and the airport has businesses throughout, if the person is still there hours after said meeting, ask them to leave.
That airport is massive, and can come up with its own solutions. Whether its providing designated areas, adding security, etc. they are a busindss, but in my opinion they have a responsibility to the community they're in.
I think that Meg got new management and someone somewhere at some point looked up and asked what does he do? I think he was getting a flat rate for not doing much so they said they’ll pay him by task. When it was became clear he doesn’t have very many tasks that he can communicate he does to warrant getting paid what he was being paid, they let his ass go. Sorry but the Atlanta airport has been a bad experience for the past 30 years and it’s not improving at all. They really need to fix the problem with the airport. And I am sorry but when you have young kids traveling by themselves , I would not want homless people in the airport with the young kids.
Some of the homeless people are picking up people's suitcases. Inside Edition did a whole story on it. One man luckily had a iPod tracker in his suitcase. A homeless man it and was sleeping on the airport floor wearing his clothes. 😕
When you are an independent contractor you are responsible for obtaining your own health insurance. I would bet my pinky toe ROC Nation sent him a 1099. He got fired and is disgruntled.

It was all good in the hood until his pay was cut. The structure went from a flat rate to per project. People have pointed out that during the time of the structure change she was doing less media, press and photo shoots. Meg was made some missteps in the beginning of her career and when ROC Nation started managing her they started tightening the budget. He would have had to agree to the new pay structure. I’ll wait for the case to be handled cause something ain’t curling over for me right now.
Until there is a solution or place to house the homeless, leave them be. When they ask you for money and you don't give it, that's it. They don't rob or kill you. We need to give people the same kindness we would want someone to give your mother.
