In last week's video, we tested the Sony a1, a7cii, and a7cr for astrophotography. So it was only fair to test these cameras head to head in more reasonable lighting conditions for landscape photography

Another great video! I suspect the reason you won’t see much difference between to two given you are shooting at f/16. At that aperture, diffraction is going to soften the image such that you won’t get the full resolving power out of your cameras.

You can only see the differences on the screen. Well, technology continues to develop, as you can see from the A9 III and the A1. The difference between the higher resolution of a Sony A IV and A9 III or the Sony RV and A1 is visible depending on the ISO - but there are enough software solutions to get this under control. (I haven't assessed the video properties) Ultimately, it's all a question of price and how much you enlarge the image on the screen. Overall, we are already at a very high academic level for all cameras.

WEAK! 3761 images in a single sunset is rookie numbers 😂 My friend does 6k at least. Also an invalid comparison unless you shoot the video in David’s showroom. Alsox2…why do I get the worst ads on videos I let them play through 😭

Your way of comparing the images is kinda pointless. You need to compare them using the same crop on both images. Zooming in closer on the higher res files will of course reveal more noise. But cropped the same will most likely reveal that the higher res files look better. It is basically the same as with video. A 4k image downsampled from 6k looks better than a native 4k image.
