@@nixigaj11 if it was recorded on a camera with 4:3 sensor like any action cam, yes 4:3 will have the most FOV while 16:9 will have a vertical crop. But if it was recorded on a camera with 16:9 sensor like most of heavy cinema camera, then 16:9 is the widest FOV while 4:3 or 3:2 will have a horizontal crop.
I have watched a bunch of these now, this is the first time I've watched one on a winning run. The difference in velocity is very noticeable. Even a water drop on the lens can't take the speed. The decisiveness and confidence in his path choices, and particularly the quality of his control in tight turns is superior to any others I've watched. His switchback riding is an amazing thing to see. No hesitation anywhere. There were two times when he faltered, once on an early wooden bridge, and once when he fell. Both slowed him down a tiny bit, and in both cases, his response was to press faster over the next half minute to regain any lost time. Truly an incredible athlete. I'm sure it helps to start at the start line so you aren't caught up behind 1,000 others right at the start, but you don't get that great starting position without earning it, and this guy has the goods for sure. Great run. Congratulations.
At 14:25 he passes a restaurant. At 17:25 the guy who comes in 24th, who was second row back at the start, passes the same spot. 3 minutes at the speed SP is moving is quite a distance.
All I watch is winning runs. I’ve probably watched 15 different ones. I should start watching non winning runs. I’ve only watched one other. Blake from GMBN doing it on a hard tail. So wild
I totally agree, there is a big difference in speed. Some of the other guys stall out a bit on the little uphills, not this guy, he's flying start to finish.
33:17 When the kid cheered for the second time around that it made Stefan look back to check if there's someone closing in on him. Lmao. Cheers are cheeky cues sometimes.
Well i was going to ask in here then i saw your post.. so.. Killian Bron finish second in this race..? ( because at 25:59-26:00 this clip look like is power-off-power-on turn up-again a short cut or cam battery died ?) then latter he slip & fall from its bike in the woods at 29:44-29:50) anyway i really think that Kilian was either not in this race or way ahead on 1st)..
I have to imagine that tire inserts like Cushcore are very common or even essential in these races. At these speeds, even little rocks hit hard and there's SO MANY ROCKS! Amazing riding!
Oh yeah for me I had punctures all the time there even with inserts and Tubeless... Only helped to pump up the tire to 40psi and then it was fine for me lol
Its good race man …
Wow, the perfect run, leading from the get go to the end, congratulations, wish I had the youth, the ability and the courage to do thát kind of mtb'ing, looks to be sooo much fun....!!!
Echt verdammt heftiges Rennen. 👍🏼
would be moore fun to watch with a speed camera and a camera facing the bikers behind , sort of like a review mirror and perhaps some instrument that measures the degree of the hill angle . and maybe some graphics of on what part of the hill the other riders are on , sort of like a live simulation on one of the corners of the picture .
The hillclimb at the start of 18:20ish, it seemed like you took it on a slower pace compared to the ones behind you, was it on purpose so you could make a faster push after that? I watched Kilian video and he almost got you there but after that bigger climb you managed to build up a gap enough that kept you on the first position. You're beast!
Yes, the hill climb started at 18:27. I use that climb to gauge the speed of each racer. Here, he was well off the mark yet he was so far in front that it didn't matter.
Great run! I watched Kilian's video earlier and had to watch yours after. Well done! The video deserves a better quality though, it's almost unwatchable like this :)
Are these guys intimately familiar with the course? They seem to know which way to go after topping a rise. Maybe its the camera perspective but I would be lost as to where the course is in some places.
Great run - congratulations on your win! Next time, please leave your camera on long enough for viewers to see how close behind you your competition was. Happily, Kilian Bron was generous enough to include quite a bit of footage of you in the winner’s circle when he arrived in 2nd place.
