As someone from a toxic family system that includes a parent professionally diagnosed with NPD, BPD, and HPD, I can promise you it is very messy and painful to navigate such a situation. No one is unscathed, and most in the family have unhealthy coping mechanisms and learned toxic traits; things are never simple or straightforward as bystanders like to try and make them. What you think you see probably isn't accurate - especially for those who like to make armchair mental health diagnoses or come in with a bias against one party or the other. High-conflict people can be very convincing and are desperate to believe their own lies; I've wrongly defended my family narc in the past because they were so good at playing the victim and twisting facts, refusing to discuss things logically or in depth. Now I am on the other side of it as the target of hate because I dared to try and establish healthy boundaries while grieving a loved one's death. My family narc will make serious false claims against people, myself included, and then break out the tears and ruminate about not having access to someone they're supposedly deathly afraid of while that person tries desperately to distance themselves and live in peace... and when given the chance to reopen the connection, family narc goes right back into the loop of manipulative and abusive behaviors, which isn't good for anyone - including them. I'm grateful to have a much smaller audience and fewer people meddling in my family trauma; I'd hate to have the world watching, many for the entertainment value, and various parties stoking the flames to sell tabloid content.

I honestly believe Megan's sister said what she said about her not having any empathy, remorse, or shame bc she believes Megan is a narcissist. And in all honesty, she's probably right considering how manipulative, controlling, and unfeeling Megan actually is.

I have no strong feelings about any of the characters in this dysfunctional family. It’s just too bad for the children (all the cousins) who will in all likelihood not get to know and learn to appreciate half of their own family because of the emotional immaturity and unloving attitudes of certain members. No one is perfect, and no one has the right to demand perfection of anyone else in the family. Instead, I see all these hurtful and hurting people doing whatever they can to block the flow of goodwill among those with whom they share family ties. This is really quite sad. My personal policy is simply to relax whatever bonds that may unite me to anyone who does not wish me well, while nevertheless consistently wishing him/her well, to facilitate no injustices, and never to shut anyone out.

Thank goodness most people picked up about Oprah stoking the bonfire. I'm no contact going on 15years now with mother and about 5yrs with rest of family. Its very hard because they're elderly now and I have fears of my emotions getting the better of me when both parents are gone. They separated 15years years ago but both narcissists as result of lots of big lies and secrets of their early days.us kids paid the price. My heart goes out to children of narcissists...it's a horrible existence. Wishing you all the best in the future ❤

I think what irks me with this the most is that no one is trying to take a high road. I don't really have much of an opinion about the royals, Megan specifically, her family or anyone. Absolutely agree. Here’s why i don’t buy “the sorry dad” deal. This video is purposely painting MM in a bad light. To an extent, I totally agree. But I also think that Megan has trashed her family and more specifically, her father. They definitely should speak out in defense of themselves. Yet, we always hear the royals dirty laundry all the time. And probably leaked by someone in their own family. I am not against Megan at all. I know my parents blamed me (I was the scapegoat). My mom was BPD who refused help. My dad, her enabler. When my parents adopted my niece and nephew, my niece became the golden child. My sister was golden and now has been discarded. My nephew is a scapegoat like me. Everyone believed that my parents were wonderful. They put on a front to the world. Regardless, I get annoyed at the backing the royals get when they are proven to have messy situations. But somehow, they are better than Megan?
@catjustine10
@catjustine10 9 месяцев назад
@sparklzdiamondgirl7502 i agree with you, one of the things i find odd too in this interview is her sister seem to guilt-trip a lot, like that moment when she's asked "wouldn't it be great to be invited?" and suddenly she's taken aback then looks quickly to the side but with a chin up replying "for my dad" and a smirk afterwards? And when George Clooney was mentioned to be invited, it seems like she's very annoyed by not getting invited over a non-relative. Was it confirmed that the person who invited him was Meghan or is it actually Harry or by a family member close to them (like her mom or an older royal family member that has a crush on him because he's famous furing their youth) because when it comes to weddings sometimes you do invite certain important people to surprise someone close to you 😂 There's some entitlement i sense from the sister, who would take anything a slight aginst her. The worst is once you decide to apologize to people like her is they'll boast about it even more. Same for their dad also with his reply later on that "No offense, but she (Meghan) can afford a bigger ball." My goodness talk about toxic competitiveness against your child or family member no less. Letters in the Royal Family have to be checked by a few people and i get that us regular folks might not understand that, but also i don't see a bad thing with consulting other people close to you to check or hear your letter before sending it since its important to you. I really sense some denials to not understand the whole situation, and keeps pushing these things that causes some people to eventually distance themselves. Its too difficult to just keep accepting these types of behaviors.

Hi Spidey , I’d like to give you one other reason that a person might try to “sell“ something. When I was a young child, I said that I did not like what my father did to me at night, and after going ballistic, my mother told everyone I was crazy, delusional, and mixed up my dreams with memories, and continued to reinforce this idea to my siblings, and even my children throughout my life. So, knowing that I would probably not be believed, because she was always saying that everything I remembered was wrong, I developed the habit of documenting and I guess selling whatever I needed to say - not because I was a liar, but because my mother always said I was a liar. Thanks for your fascinating presentations. And I hope this is a useful idea for you.

Thomas Jr, shares the same father as Meghan and Samantha Markle- who he says changed her name from Yvonne Grant- and told how their father had kept the recently emerged letter from Meghan a secret, and he knew nothing about it until it was published last week. Thomas Markle Jr has spoken out in support of estranged half-sister Meghan, 37, revealing that the whole family - including their 74-year-old father Thomas Markle- have begged Samantha to stop 'spreading lies'. Speaking to New! magazine, he recalled how he lived with Samantha, their father and Doria Ragland for 'three to four' years after Meghan was born. Describing Meghan - who is currently in New York - as having a 'happy and outgoing personality' who was 'always a princess and never a tomboy' from the moment she was born, he said Samantha has 'always been bitter and negative'. Telling how they lost contact and became even more distant when she landed a role on Suits and became a 'Hollywood starlet', Thomas admits that the interviews which saw the family 'badmouth' her drove her further away. Speaking about Samantha, he admitted he stopped talking to her years ago, describing her as 'negative' and 'hard to get along with', and added: 'I wouldn't believe anything that's written in there [her book on Meghan].' Thomas even recalled how their father begged Samantha to stop talking about Meghan, adding: 'He has even said to me "I wish Babe [Samantha's nickname] would shut her mouth already and be quiet".' As well as airing her dirty laundry in public, Samantha has used her links to Meghan for commercial gain. AND then there is this: "Meghan Markle’s Biggest Troll Is Her Half-Sister Samantha" BuzzFeed News Samantha's mother - Roslyn - told the Mail Online in 2017 that Samantha "has dogged on Meghan forever", adding: "She's never liked Meghan and she's always been jealous of her." The two sisters have been estranged for a long time, and Samantha has been highly critical of Meghan since her relationship with Prince Harry was made public in 2016. Samantha's mother isn't the only family member to criticise her for her public comments about Meghan. Thomas Markle Jr - Meghan's half brother and Samantha's full sibling - told the Mail Online that "nobody talks to" Samantha. 'It's why nobody talks to her and hasn't for a long, long time. Leave Meghan alone already - it's ridiculous". 2022: New evidence shows that Samantha Markle's attempts to capitalize off of and trash Meghan Markle publicly truly know no bounds. A recent BuzzFeed News report has come out in the wake of Samantha's lawsuit against Meghan. The two women share a father but are 17 years apart. Despite Samantha's many assertions otherwise, there's minimal evidence of a real relationship between the two throughout the years, other than occasionally attending family events together. The BuzzFeed News investigation found evidence that over the last four years, Samantha has worked with particular partners not only to slam her sister but to push negative and damaging narratives around Meghan, her relationship with Harry, and her role as a parent. She used various different Twitter accounts, including her current one, to communicate with the reporter behind the largest anti-Meghan account on RU-vid. In her tweets, Samantha has openly speculated that Meghan did not really carry her own children and used surrogates to have them. She also shared that she didn't believe the children deserved titles if there was no evidence of "proof of delivery from my sister's womb." Keep in mind, it was SAMANTHA that got Tom Sr. to make staged pictures with the paparazzi, which ended the relationship between Tom and his daughter Meghan. Samantha is not just trash. SHE IS EVIL.

In the court case about the letter her private secretary stated the following: 'She asked me to review an electronic draft of the letter saying, 'Obviously everything I have drafted is with the understanding that it could be leaked so I have been meticulous in my word choice but please do let me know if anything stands out for you as a liability'. She also asked a specific question regarding addressing Mr Markle as 'daddy' in the letter, saying 'Given I've only ever called him daddy it may make sense to open as such (despite him being less than paternal), and in the unfortunate event that it leaked it would pull at the heartstrings'."So she wrote the letter to her father with in the back of her head that he could leak it. He didn't do that though, until 6 friends (about 6 months later) of her did a People interview in which 'Thomas Markle had been accused of giving a “cynical and self-interested response ignoring her pleas for reconciliation in a loving letter”. After that he leaked certain contents of the letter to the Daily Mail to defend himself against what Meghans friends (with permission of her) had told in People and that it wasn't a 'loving letter'. That is the background so I don't think that Thomas sr. was deceitful about the letter and that he wanted to hurt Meghan back. He just wanted to defend himself against the, in his eyes, hurtful and deceitful accusations.

My baby sister was left at home with my mom, and she talks like it was just her and my mom growing up in the house because it kinda was. My mom changed so much raising my sister, she was allowed to get away with so much, and wear makeup much earlier- I think that my mom was just tired by then! I don't believe that Samantha and Meghan spent much time together at all, really. That's not Meghan's fault though. It seems like there was some jealousy there, especially as Meghan started to blossom into a really pretty young woman. I think that changing her name back to Markle, hiring photogs to stage scenes with her dad really is indicative of an opportunist. @e.m.6158

Yes, like you said, your family is one of the lucky ones. It's not unusual for some families that when one of the parents move on to a new life and new kids are brought into the equation, out of the first set of children- somebody may become jealous and resentful of the new kids. They see them getting what may be a happier, more relaxed, and possibly more loving version of their parent than what they got. It's not the new kid's fault, of course, and it's not the old kid's fault either. Everything seems idyllic in new relationships, and in contrast there's probably still tension and anger in the old relationship. That makes the old parent just want to be away from that even more- although they may be thinking that it's better to not have a lot of stressful situations affecting their old kids anyway. This gives them even more reason to distance themselves from their first kids too. It's just a terrible cycle that takes a lot of maturity to handle and A LOT of people get stuck somewhere in the cycle, not coming out whole on the other side. Add to that that the new kid seems to be getting all of the breaks in life-- vivacious personality, book smarts, blossoming beauty and poise, and that jealousy meter may go through the roof! This is what I believe happened to Samantha. Her life didn't take the same course as Meghan's, and it didn't sit well with her. She may have tried to like her at one point, but sometimes the bad parts of our souls win out over our better selves, and it becomes who we are. I really don't think that any anything that Meghan could have done for Samantha- invited her to everything- double dates with Harry, the wedding, meeting the Queen herself- would have totally erased the niggling resentment and dislike for the half-sibling that she had to pick up berries after when she just an infant.

I've known him for 16 years already, since he was 3 years old, but our age gap and the fact that my dad and his girlfriend didn't live in the same house up till this year, didn't make us close at all. Not that we hate each other, we are just very indifferent. Honestly, I think the long time the sister takes to answer the question would you want to talk to her is because she is considering the possibility that, if she says yes, production would have somehow managed to bring Meghan on board and they make them talk. There's a certain fear in her eyes as she's considering whether she can say yes safely or whether she has to look like the bad one and say no. Then the interviwer goes on to say something that indicates that Meghan isn't probably there, the sister relaxes, and then goes on the offensive

About Meghan's father at the end, finishing with "Thank you." is not unexpected at all to me. I am very familiar with this, and I'm finally understanding that it's because I'm very likely autistic. I spent most of my life trying to learn to behave socially, but also move as far as possible away physically from my parents, because I am not able to stand intimacy in any way. My mother being the exact opposite (very social), is constantly trying to change this. She calls everyday, and once in a blue moon I am actually more "chatty" and show her my cat playing, or talk about clothes, and at the end, she thanks me while saying goodbye. I see it as the parents way to compromise because they don't give up trying to connect to their children, especially when they lost it in their point of view (in my case when I moved to college at 18, and later moved abroad and stayed abroad).

Thanks for creating this channel. I love your integrity and commitment to fairness. Regarding the last bit with Thomas Markle, I didn't love how long he went on, but that could be put down to his struggle with getting his words right. Maybe he wanted to make sure his true message got across. It did surprise me that his first words were "let's go somewhere and talk" and not "I love you". Why did it take him so long to say that he loves her? I wonder if when he said he loves Harry for marrying his daughter, he was trying to say something more like he's grateful to him for taking care of her. Or maybe I"m just up in the night. Lastly, I think he was thanking the interviewer for asking him that last question and giving him the chance to put his answer out there publicly, where she might see it. That head tilt and the soft smile seemed genuine.

In Tom Bower's Revenge, he said something like the dad saying, "everyone is getting rich from this, I want mine too." That is when he talked to Daily Mail. The Dad still doesn't understand that he created a narcissist by giving Meghan EVERYTHING. He doesn't come off as a sympathetic guy. I am curious why they don't address Doria's absence in their lives, but how she is a central player at the wedding. Other interviews, Thomas Jr. talked about the dad going to Thailand and Philippines. Doria knows the truth, and also knows to keep her mouth shut.

There was a definate slant and impression that the letter writer wishes to form in that audience, which is not just who it was addressed to. That Thomas Markle released it is another consideration. Many layers here.

The prom queen part may also be because Meghan said she was a nerd, the smart one rather than the popular or pretty one. Which is what the video shows. The opposite of what Meg says. I think the part about Sam saying my sister or little sister it could be that she is so pissed or hurt by her that she has already disowned her in a way that she has few feelings on that term.

I believe she did grow up as an only child. I am 20 years older than my half sister. We never lived under the same roof, while she was being raised. I was starting my own family. I love my sister, but for many years, she felt like my niece, only seeing each other on holidays. We each had a completely different relationship with our mother, she was a late in life child for my mother who by then was much more established in her career. I would say we each grew up as only children with no siblings.

Dont' you think the asking Samantha if she considered MM her sister was an odd question?. I thought the question was strange when he knew the answer. As far as MM saying on Oprah that she wished she had sibilings and that she could not be lying because it would be easy to check the truth, it seems MM lies a lot but often does so by impliation or in a vague way soshe can wiggle out or let us let her wiggle out with an excuse such as your suggestion that she actually meant she wanted sibilings her own age. PS Loove your work and Lady C reported that there another video is planned.
@ladymeredith1831

For context: I was raised by an incredibly emotionally abusive mother, along with occasional physical abuse. I moved out at 17. When I was 23 I tried getting back in contact, and she sounded very much like Megan’s father while I was still in another state. It was less than 5 minutes after I walked through the door that her behavior reverted to what I was familiar with. So I left and have repeatedly asked her to stop contacting me. She calls and e-mails at every holiday pushing the fake syrupinesss that I fell for at 23. Megan’s father’s statement at the end of your video (along with the sister’s reaction to it, and the brother’s reaction to his prior ‘accepting his part while still blaming Megan’) reminds me very strongly of the type of manipulative statements my mother would make in public, and I suddenly don’t blame Megan for not wanting to get back in touch. In your prior videos about Megan and Harry I saw a strong familiar manipulation in Megan that reminded me of my mother as well. I’m not a big fan of Megan. After seeing this I’m not a fan of her family either. Or of that interviewer actually. Though I do agree with him that they all seem to be equally awful. Including himself.

Absolutely agree. I see many people manipulated by this “sadness”, I’m guessing they didn’t experience family/parents abuse (good for them ❤). Her father reminds me of my own. You can think he’s heart broken, sad. I do think he is, but it’s coming from how it all ended up, sadness from losing his daughter”, but i didn’t see any actual remorse or accountability for his actions. I’m not a fan of Meghan, would definitely believe she’s done some horrible things as well. Two wrongs don’t make anything right though. From personal experience, letting someone back in to your life, someone who doesn’t believe and understand exactly what they did wrong, means the cycle will repeat over and over. And re. The sister: my sister was full of anger, entitlement, jealousy. Most of the time, she’d dress it as “being defensive and protective of parents”. So, I dont buy Samantha. For someone as educated as her, the language and name calling she did during the interview tells me everything I need to know. It might come a little bit out of love/respect to the father, but mostly came out of jealousy and arrogance

@Aaaisha90
@Aaaisha90 Год назад
@@lisat9707 this topic is very polarised, isn’t it? People have strong opinions both ways. We can all stipulate but we can’t know for sure as we don’t have all details. My analysis comes from personal experience of dealing with somewhat abusive and narcissistic people and this family reminds me of mine a bit too much. But those who hadn’t gone through it, or who are still living in cognitive dissonance might not see it. I’ve been fooled by this behaviour most of my life, heard similar words, seen similar behaviours and gaslighted myself too, believing the sadness and hoping love would win/concur all . Now I’m more aware of these red flags. I don’t see the dad being remorseful- i see him upset and I see him making excuses for his behaviour. But this whole documentary is made to paint MM in a terrible light (I’m sure she’s done plenty wrong and I’m not her fan, by any means). If the dad was actually sorry (not just upset he’s not in her life anymore), he wouldn’t participate in this video. Instead, he’d try to make amends. He’s like a kid, passing blame, not being accountable but at the same time being sad he lost his daughter. Her sister on the other hand looks to me jealous, furious, hiding it behind the concern for the dad. She’s an educated woman, experienced counsellor (?), yet her language is surprisingly abusive. I’m not saying she doesn’t have right to feel upset and she might as well have plenty of reasons behind it. Yet, its one thing criticising someone’s behaviour, motives, lack of integrity and moral back bone, and another thing calling them names. For an educated woman she is, I’d expect more maturity and appropriate language. On the other hand, I work at a university and I see even PhD students behaving unreasonably and immature too. My sister would lash on me the same way, that I didn’t do enough for her and the parents. I’d do my absolute best to support them, though it was just one big misunderstanding, but it was never enough no matter how much i tried to be there for them. My parents would complain to her about me and she’d come and be emotionally and verbally abusive, saying most horrible things. It wasn’t her fault she was used this way and she was a parents’ pleaser. In reality she was just jealous, for how different our lives turn out to be. And all the other things we know about Samantha, her screw ups, shows me this anger is not just an anger for her father. She’s an angry woman who made plenty of horrible things herself. Whether someone hurt us, betrayed us- i don’t think doing the same things to them should be justified. If we’re doing immoral things, we’re not that different to them. We know being at the receiving end hurts- so unless we’re trying to hurt someone too (which is bad), we should learn our lesson and move on. We might not have control over how others behave but we do have control over what we do. And, I’d rather have a clear concisions 🙂
