A lot of ppl felt if he doesn’t make it right he’s just a murderer but I took it as If he doesn’t do something or free Gojo the sorcerers are going to kill him.
That's why I fucks with Megumi. He knew it was overkill to summon that mofo. But he was like fuck it I'm on my last leg, if I'm gonna get off-ed might as well be by my own hand while taking out everyone else around me too. And the fact that he was always ready for this endgame is crazy. It's always the quiet ones, ain't it?
@@sadesemolu It's even better when u remember he wouldn't even risk anyone else because of the conditions of the ritual. If mahoraga had killed the miracle dude before Sukuna arrived it'd be joever for the both of them and Mahoraga would desummon. it's the ultimate fuck you if you're kicking the bucket anyway
@@DrGandW pretty sure makora (mahoraga) would’ve vanished after ponytail was taken out. if sukuna hadn’t saved him there wouldn’t have been any further carnage. sukuna, however, needed megumi alive. megumi calculated the risk knowing there wasn’t anyone else aside from the ponytail dude in their immediate vicinity, so no one else would’ve been pulled in to the ritual. megumi had no idea that sukuna was going to intervene and take things further and cause as much damage as he did in the fight
@@izrael820 it's talking about the same thing he tried using with the same hand movement like he did in s1 episode 7 or stomewhere around that, where sukuna takes over itadori and takes out his heart, he does the hand signal but itadori comes back and he dosen't use it. He used sacred elephant multiple times i'm pretty sure, might be wrong
@GamingGuildLT I only remembered sacred elephant being used against hanami. Maybe another time this season I remember. Since I didn't know the power scaling would get to this I was alluded to think that was his most physically gifted shikigami
@@izrael820 well yeah lmao, before this episode where we saw that this summon is the 10th one that no-one has been able to conjugate it was the strongest, but this was the sacred treasure triumph card that he had if I'm not mistaken cause i'm anime only
Yuji's goal in life being to save people and then being forced as watch as his body annihilates most of a city and kills thousands of people is WILD. Brother is 5 seconds away from 30 mental breakdowns. Goated fight between Sukuna and Mahoraga. And now, Nanami Dent is walking through the Subway with half of his body cooked. Absolute cruelty.
For Domain Expansions, the user needs to make a bubble of enclosed space that contains their innate domain. You saw this with Gojo, Jogo, and Dagon. Sukuna doesn't need to make a bubble. Instead of bringing people into his domain, he brings his domain out instead, laying it over the real world rather than being trapped in a bubble. That's why the narrator say it's a divine feat, it's like containing water without using a container at all. That's what makes Malevolent Shrine different from other Domain Expansions.
I swear I saw this a month ago and forgot about it, but the pact he makes with his domain is what really sells it for me. In exchange for allowing an escape route (ie, the lack of a barrier), he's allowed to vastly increase the size of his domain to roughly 200 meters while retaining the ability to control the size between the minimum for a domain, and his maximum. That aspect of Malevolent Shrine is what makes it one of my top 3 domains.
@@Basmuth And I love how the lack of barrier as his side of a compromise is barely even a compromise cause with how fast sukuna is, what will they do to escape? Run? 💀
Fucked up part of the Shibuya arc is that Sukuna was out for only 23 minutes. In the span of a lunch break he atomized half of an entire city then told yuji to depending on the translation “ take a good look”. Mans is a certified Menace™️
he’s Naruto without plot armor. People screaming his name or hugging him won’t just randomly take him out of his demon-controlled form that is going to kill all his friends lmao

@@MunkeyyCANAvery apt comparison, I like it a lot. JJK is basically Naruto but way darker, way more hype, with no filler, with good, interesting characters, and with some of the best animation of all time every episode.
@@nukanszn8237 oh yeah I agree 100%, Naruto is honestly a mediocre show at best looking at it as a whole as an unbiased viewer. People can’t set aside nostalgia, I grew up watching Pokémon and can say with 100% certainty that without bias, it’s pretty mid. We just tend to remember the best parts and forget all the bad that came between it.
Remember, in his domain, Megumi can summon multiple copies of his shikigami. Imagine if he got control over Mahoraga and used his domain to summon two of him. That would be a next-level jumping.
I think the duplication of shikigami is like an ability or its a technique from the shikigami in question, because Mahoragas "ability" is its adapting to any phenomena.
@@Water_Person_IRL nah he can summon multiple of the same shikigami within his domain. Thats what makes it crazy. If he can tame mahoraga and learn domain expansion, he will be able to surpass Gojo. That's why Gojo and the zenin clan hold him in such high regard.
@@khanareeb9725This might be a hot take but I think taming might make it weaker. This is because it would be dispelled as soon as the one who tamed it dies, which probably would not be difficult for gojo. Unlike here, where it continues fighting no matter what happens to the summoner.
@@Water_Person_IRL it was shown during the culling games when megumi uses his DE in the gymnasium and when he fought the finger bearer in the arc where they had to deal with choso's lil bros. He was able to summon mulitple frogs, nues and even clones of himself from those shadows. The only prerequisite is probably that he can only summon the ones he tamed. So if he can tame mahoraga, shits gonna go crazy in the domain.
Sukuna really tore up the whole city causing mayhem and piling up the bodies, then left Yuji to see the destruction and give him a mental breakdown. The ultimate menace 😂😭
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 imagine being yuji. your goal was to help people in any way cause of the promise to your grandpa. then become a vessel of an absolute monster cause you tried to help your friends. a lot of horrible shit happens and you are unable to stop it, the monster using your own body practically erased of the map a portion of a city, with lots of innocent people, and you were unable to stop it, despite being capable of supress him a bit. this dilemma remains until the next arcs, but yuji feels like the guilty one was him cause of not only being uncapable of helping anyone, but also involuntarily murdering lots of others.
The opening was used there in Yuji's moment smartly. The song is written from the perspective of the curses and the lyrics reflect that. It's like Sukuna is giving the middle finger to Yuji while smiling. That's why the opening is used.
See, i thought in addition to the episode wrapping up, was the song playing for Sukuna to basically tell Yuji, "look punk, demons and curses are special too and sorcerers aren't always the good they portray themselves to be. Because you were so weak you let this happen." To maybe set him up to be another Geto. I think that would be a interesting take, except Yuji is a good guy but he starts to see curses with a more eye opening mindset. Or goes full Eren. But i would love to see if Yuji will develop a black flash series of punches that can discect like Sukuna. That would be dope.
The change from Malevolent Shrine to Kitchen is actually really cool. You see the Japanese lettering uses some very old Kanji, which if reading using modern day translations means "shrine" but in older translations it can mean "Kitchen". Im not an expert but thats more or less what it means. Which is awesome because in a sense it means that modern day people view Sukunas domain as divine and godlike, but to Sukuna, an ancient 1000 year old demon. Its nothing more then a kitchen and all those who enter to pray and bow down before him are nothing but food. Thats awesome word play that you wouldnt know unless your Japanese and can never really get across because of the language Barrier.
The reason megumi summoned bro is cos he was legit on 1hp after fighting dagon and toji. Even ponytail could've beat him so he had to pop the Trump card
And add to the fact that Megumi only expected Makora to kill him, kill Haruta, and then disappear since they're the only ones involved in the ritual. Unfortunately and fortunately, Sukuna didn't want Megumi to die and interfered with the ritual. Which involved killing so many people as collateral.
You know what? I blame Megumi for this massacre. Sure, he couldn't have predicted that Sukuna would interfere, but dude is just itching to release that crazy thing at every turn. Mofo almost used it against Todo for bullying him.
@@bendover7841Nigga any human being with any sort of functioning brain won’t try to summon Mahoraga in that situation lmao, he also knew todo wouldn’t kill him cuz why the FUCK would he kill him? Megumi is also a fellow jujutsu sorcerer, todo was just playing with him (even thought he beat him pretty hard). And the other times it as pretty reasonable as well. Against Hanami, Toji, Sukuna (twice). Y’all are making this so complicated for no fucking reason lmfao what retards
This episode was literally amazing, I was geeking the whole time. The animators are insane they still doing this despite their working conditions is crazy. Also 9:42 cleanest scene I’ve ever seen. “Sukuna will be like Kurama don’t worry” The sukuna in question:
most of this episode is animated by freelance animators. Vercreek, Vincent Chansard, Weiling Zhang, Saucelot and Yutaka Nakamura are some of the most talented and notable freelance animators from this episode. Most of the fights in this episode are done by them, that is why it was such a huge step up from the previous episodes! Edit: Sorry! Yutaka Nakamura was not involved in this episode; it was Hakuyu GO from Mob Psycho: Mob vs. Mogami Fight. He is an amazing director and also explains why this episode feels so well directed and feels a lot similar to Mob vs. Mogami aswell.
To clear up confusion on megumis technique 10 shadows have access to 10 shikigami the first being the 2 divine dogs which are given when you have the power, the rest have to be tamed via ritual similar to mahoraga You have to tame the shikigami alone in order to gain access to it or you can fight with others but if you defeat it you don’t gain control over it. So this has been megumis crutch whenever he’s in a situation where he’s going to die for example with blondie (Haruta) he was bleeding out and thought he was going to die so he said fuck it imma summon mahoraga and I’ll die but I’m taking you with me Being able to take down the shikigami with others is probably to learn how to defeat them if in case you may be too weak at the moment to do it alone maybe megumi can’t beat mahoraga alone but with someone’s help he can understand how it works better and learn how to defeat it whenever he decides to fight it alone Now when the shikigami dies they do not come back but their power is transferred to another shikigami we saw this in s1 when one of the dogs died and then when he summoned the other one when fighting hanami it looked like a combination of both of them (mix of black and white)
I could feel all the blood, sweat and tears the animators poured into these last few episodes. My jaw was on the floor this entire episode. I am so grateful to these animators managed to accomplish in such a short amount of time and in such horrible conditions.
I'm pretty sure yall got the gist by rewatching the ep but yea Megumi has to summon the skikigami first in a ritual & beat them by himself to tame the shinigami (Excluding the dogs since you start with them). In the anime so far we have seen 7 of them (Divine Dogs, Nue, Orchii the serphant (Sukuna killed it), Gamma Frogs, Maxed Elephant, the rabbits & lastly maho). 3 left to be revealed To answer taylor question maho is not all the shinigami combined its a separate one. And you don't need all the shinigami tamed inorder to summon maho. Megumi can start a ritual of any shinigami he wants tame. If megumi place another person with a ritual with him to help him defeat it the ritual will be voided since that defeats the point & ofc if a outsider joins in as well. Since no past ten shadow user was able to tame maho megumi usually use it as a "last" resort yea that boy a little too suicidal. Also I don't want to be that guy but I wouldn't count megumi as a top 3 strongest because he don't have maho tamed if he did then that's a whole different story. I think I covered everything you needed to know about the technique
Actually agito is an implication of totality but now that both gone elephant may has the totality it would make megumi broken NGL also we haven't seen the makoda deer which is the ultimate defense.
This episode was just me seeing everyone react to the destruction and thinking "just wait, it gets worse" LMFAO Nah the bag overflowed with this episode
Man, what is Malevolent "KITCHEN" 😭 Sukuna cooking there or what?... Felt like we're was watching a 4K IMAX movie for this episode. Nothing but love and Respect to all Animators out there❤
yea, cause sukuna loves eatin, he makes food puns all the goddam time, like telling yuji to 'savour' this, how his cursed technique is 'fillet' a cooking knife technique, also uraume, the white haired servant, is only close to sukuna since he/she/they can expertly cook humans, which is also one of sukuna's favorite foods, specifically human brains. And in the official jjk handbook, his hobby is listed a 'eating'. So yeah, sukuna is a fattass mofo who loves chowing down on everything, but especially humans.
So many emotions throughout this episode and season so far is just so much! MAPPA has been working so hard to bring this season come to life the staff deserves so much more!!!
Megumi just casually summons God on the most mundane ass nigga Wait hasn't he been trying to suicide summon this thing all of season 1 whenever shit wasn't going his way Give this man a hug
@@rightguy200000it’s because he’s in a stance similar to the hand signs, we dont have any proof that it’s him summoning mahoraga but people assume it is due to the similarity
The 10 shadows technique, you have 10 Shikigami you can summon in total, after you perform a ritual in which you defeat/subjugate the Shikigami 1 on 1 (you can use the other Shinigami to beat whichever one you’re fighting, just no other people). You can summon them whenever but they will just attack you since you don’t have them under control yet, as we saw Mahoraga do, unlike when he summons his dogs or his bird, they obey his commands/help him. When you first manifest the technique you are granted 2 demon dogs by default. Everything else you must defeat/subjugate before you can use them at will. Mahoraga is the one Shikigami in history that has never been Subjugated by any of the previous 10 Shadow users. It’s not a combination of them, it’s just one of the 10. But I guess realistically if you are ever able to subjugate it you wouldn’t need to use the other 9 anymore lol. Megumi assumes that since it’s never been subjugated, the 10 Shadow use that took out Gojo ancestor used it in a similar way that he just did, a hail mary suicide attack since they think they’re dead anyway, Mahoraga will at least defeat the opponent.
Episode was nuts love the reaction. For clarification he doesn't have to beat all of the other ones to get Makora, he can summon him anytime. However to tame it he has to beat it himself
Megumi didn’t have to sacrifice the other Shikigami to summon Maharoga, just his life. Presuming he’s still alive, he’ll still have everything up to the elephant, but then he’ll need to try to get the next one (7th? 8th?). Or at least, if he wants to. He can settle for his current power level, but considering the state of his world, probably better not.
Megumi tried to summon it in ep 1, 5 against Sukuna, 19 against Hanami and 23 against special grade cursed spirit that ate finger of Sukuna every time he was about to lose/die. Same words and pose for summoning.
The song actually relates to Sukuna and Yuji basically Sukuna taunts the fact that people think he’s special in all reality it’s because he’s a vessel and works really well in the scene
i think they changed it to kitchen since thats what basically means in japanese but it can also be translated to shrine. Idk japanese is a weird/fluid language lol sometimes there isn't just one word in english that can be used for a translation like the line where sukuna tells itadori to "savor this" could also be translated to " bon appetit"
With the Shikigami, Megumi can summon any of the 10 at any time, but can only control the ones he’s defeated ALONE and subjugated. Having a ritual with multiple people doesn’t subjugate regardless of defeat. So he can bring Mahoraga/Makora out as many times as needed but either has to die or has to defeat him. Considering how OP it is the number of times he can do it is one.
And this was the climax of the worst night of Itadori Yuji’s life. I’ve never felt this horrified for an MC, bar Guts, ever. When I read the part were Yuji is kneeling on the floor, sobbing, asking to die, I cried, watching it animated made me cry again, it truly breaks my heart. He is my favorite MC of any shounen I’ve ever seen. I feel so much for him. Next episodes, hopefully we will get them after a break but I doubt it considering it’s Mappa, but next episodes will still be tough. Thank you so much for a great reaction as always! One of my top 5 favorite channels. 💜
The correct names of Sukuna's techniques are Cleave, Dismantle, Malevolent shrine and that fire arrow. (We still don't know how the name of that fire arrow or why he was able to use that even in the manga) Also, part of the reason JJK's production is fucked rn is cause the CEO of MAPPA decided to pick up Chainsaw Man in the middle of the JJK movie's production. Mappa had signed a contract stating that JJK must air in 2023 so in order to get JJK 0, Chainsaw Man ans JJK season 2 on time, Mappa had to split their animators between the 3 projects.
Its really funny how the upbeat music plays when yuji was screaming, but when u translate the chorus of the song it fits perfectly to the condition he was in😂
jjk season 2 is supposedly to have the production team started 2 years ago, but mappa CEO being the greedy guy he is took csm and jjk 0 and used the same team for jjk season 2 on csm and jjk 0, so instead of having 2 years work of production, they only have 6 months
Just to point out alot of stuff had to be cut because of the time restrictions so some scenes are kinda hard to follow because there literally incomplete but they still managed to cook regardless with the episode.
How it works is megumi gets the dogs for free, but he must summon and beat each animal 1 by 1 to control them. He csn bring as many people as he wants into the ritual to fight the beast, and he can do the ritual multiple times. But megumi or one of the ritual memeners need to do the final blow for megumi to get the shikigami. Now after he controls a shikigami if it dies its gone for good. However all of its powers and stats gets fused with the next shikigami in order(cant remember off the top of my head.) For example nue was fused with the snake sukuna killed in season 1 which is why its bigger and hits harder. Megumi can also do partal fusions of his living shikigami, but the new creature will be weaker then its parts. Now mahoraga is the strongest of them all. At base. No one has been able to beat it in a ritual to this day. But in theroy with enough fusion a 10 shadows user could build a beast capable of killing mahoraga(hence why his DE is called a chimera shadow garden. ). But all users of 10 shadows treat the animals as family. They wont kill there pets to get stronger(something sukuna told jogo was holding him back. Burn evrrything away for power.)because of that they wont fuse there pets willingly.
Btw guys, the users of the Ten Shadows can summon ANY of the Ten Shikigami in an attempt to exorcise them, as many times as they wish, until the user themselves exorcise them. But since Sukuna killed it, the ritual was nullified. Any time another person joins the ritual, it doesn’t matter who kills it, because the user still wont gain it unless they solo 1v1 it. Meaning Megumi can summon Mahoraga again and again. Mahoraga/Makora also isn't the culmination of all the Ten Shikigami, they're all individual Shikigami.
The skikigami that megumi summoned is called maharoga so basically the only way u can control a shikigami is u have to beat it in a ritual that’s the only way it listens to you but u can still summon them even if u didn’t beat it and no one in the history of jujutsu have ever taken control of mahoraga it’s just that strong
Megumi is a wild man. Demon Dog would've been more than enough but he had to summon the strongest shinigami in his arsenal for a fodder character out of pure pettiness and spite 😂
5:47 is so satisfying, exactly what I wish would happen whenever a manga reader says something that spoils but doesnt really spoil or try to give hints thinking they're sneaky 😂
MAPPA’s just horrible at scheduling and takes in too many projects. The S1 JJK team immediately jumped into CSM S1, and then they jumped straight into JJK s2. So for us we’ve waited years but they’ve been CONSTANTLY working
One of the biggest issues in regards to pushing back episodes is that the studio will take a massive hit in regards to the time slot they bought and other contracts that will have to be renewed and updated/lengthened, now considering how little the studios *actually make?* The producers, the studio heads ain't wanna push back anything, rather whip their animators and degrade them than cost the studio more money
I never even thought about it until bro said it. But, it is WILD sukuna knew EXACTLY where to drop off megumi. Everybody would’ve just had to thug out their injuries if he destroyed that too 💀
To address the question: a ten shadow technique user can summon any one shikigami at any point. But they can only use them if they subjugate them in a fight. There are different ways to subjugate them but mostly in a fight to the death. Mahoraga is one of the ten and can be summoned at any point. Its just usually a bad idea because no one has been able to subjugate it. But there is no order or building up as stages to the summoning.
4:40 I know everyone had the same question, so did I, but he was actually dying here. Like dying dead, after fighting the bald curse user, dagon, AND toji, getting sliced by both toji and ponytail within 3 hours 😭i doubt he had the energy left to fight even the blonde npc.
Nanami is the animators over at MAPPA after completing this episode Also can we just talk about the fact that Megumi has had the jujutsu sorcerer equivalent of a tactical nuke in this back pocket and he’s more than willing to pull it out after the slightest realization that he’s outmatched in a fight?
so to explain more specifically wiyhout spoiling, megumi can summon / use any shadow whenever he wants but he cant control it unless he tames it first. and he can only tame it by himself but he can add other people for help to get a grasp on the shadows abilities so when hes ready hes more prepared to beat it himself
The Dogs and its fusion/evolution, frog, Rabbits, elephant, the bird, and the snake(he only used it like once) are the Shinigami we've seen so far there are two more we are have yet to see beside Makora(Mahoraga)
you ever just watch a sequence of animation that made you genuinely lightheaded? these episodes should be paying for trips to fiji for these animators, good LORD
I died laughing when Taylor turned to Terrence and said "HE WON'T DIE!" when Sukuna showed up to save that dude. Shoutout to the animators, they nned to delay the show so they can rest. MAPPA is wrong for that, man.
Correction (if you even see this). When you get the Ten Shadows technique, you receive 2 Divine Dogs. However, to get other shikigami you have to fight them and tame them. That's how Megumi got the other Shikigami, but taming them. The thing is, you can summon a shikigami as many times as you want if the goal is to tame it. As such, Magumi can summon Mahoraga/Makora anytime he wants in an attempt to tame it. P.S: Makora is an individual shikigami not a fusion
16:20 There was only dogs and frogs in that scene, and the shikigami only combine once they die. Like the white dog died, and merged with the black dog. He can summon all 10 of the Shikigami, but has to beat and subdue them in a 1vs1 (kinda like pokemon tbh) to be able to summon them again AND control them. The only way out is to either die, or have someone else defeat the summoned Shikigami for him (Megumi doesn't get control over them in that case though). Otherwise they run rampant until either defeated by someone else or until Megumi dies. Then they would disappear. This is why it's so risky for him to summon new Shikigami, since he has to be sure to be strong enough to beat them. ,,Why waste the move on him though?" Since Megumi was sure he would be killed by Haruta (The blonde guy), he decided to summon Mahoraga to kill himself and take Haruta with him. Haruta was dragged into a 2v1 with Mahoraga (think of it as a 2v1 Arena) so Mahoraga wouldn't stop fighting until Megumi and Haruta are both dead. He never intended anything big to happen (If Mahoraga had just smashed Haruta, Megumi would have been killed too and Mahoraga would disappear) But Megumi's effort to atleast kill 1 bad guy backfired, as Sukuna came and prolonged the fight, killing thousands of innocent humans in the meantime. I guess once Megumi wakes up, he will feel just as fucked as Yuji did, since that city wipout only happened, because he summoned Mahoraga. Who knows what Sukuna would have done otherwise though? -I have not read the Manga, there aren't any spoilers. All info is from the Anime.
* Mahoraga (Makora) is one of the 10 shadows shikigami * He has never been tamed by any 10 shadows users among all the generations * He can be summoned again because this ritual was rendered null and void because he was defeated by someone (Sukuna) outside of the summoning ritual.
The veil is still up, but that’s the least of their issues. The problem is that once it goes down, there’s way too much damage and too many witnesses to cover it up.
As I understand it, Megumi got 10 slots but only the 2 dogs are granted without a taming ritual. If he wants to fill up the other 8 slots he has to go through the ritual first but it's unclear how big the shikigami pool is. So maybe there are like 100 shikigami that he could possibly tame but he has only 10 slots so he has to choose which pokemon he wants to carry around
Nah there's a lot of lost in translation in the ep. For megumi to tame the other shikigamis he need first to exercise it. What he said was just how the taming process works just like starting two dogs to exorcised the rabbit & used the two to exorcised the other repeat until he can aquire all shikigami. It's literally just the same as pokemon logic.
not sure what you're talking about, they don't say exorcise, shikigami aren't curses, and megumi can fight to tame them too, of course he can work with his tamed shikigami to help him tame the next, but it's not like pokemon at all, and he has a domain to fight with too, although not fully complete.
"why megumi use it on fodder" because he just finished breaking in and out of aspecial grades domain....then proceeded to fight the physically strongest character in the entire verse.....and proceeded to get slashed on his back lol he had nothing left.
I love the whole train thing. In a superhero movie, that would be the cue for our hero to overcome impossible odds to save the people inside. Sukuna doesn’t give a f*** 😂😂. He’s just enjoying himself.
From my understanding, the way Megumi's technique works is he can only summon up to 10 shinigami at a time. To be able to control and summon one, he has to first tame it. If he doesn't tame it, he can't control it so he can't use it. There r countless shinigami he can tame but he can only use 10 at a time. No one's ever tamed Mahoraga.
