میرے غزل نغمہ کے بابا استاد,محترم اور میرے سر سنگیت کے دیوتا ۔۔۔ جیسا سریلا اور شہنشاہ,غزل و نغمہ گائیک کوئی نہیں ھو سکتا ۔۔۔ بقول بڑے اساتذہ ۔ مجھے آپ نے کبھی گلے لگا کے اپنی روح کا بچھڑا ھوا ٹکڑا کہا تھا ۔۔۔ آج اس غزل سے وھی احساس پھر جاگ اٹھا ھے ۔۔۔ ۔ امر مہدی ۔اسلام آباد ۔۔۔ (لوقس امر ۔ ۔ پہلے بہاولپور مقیم تھا ۔
Delighted to listen to this magnificent ghazal - penned by Zahid Fatehpuri Saab - in the soulful voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab - all over again - ofcourse in a different orientation altogether ! It's always gratifying to listen to the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, while he was performing live, owing to his lively interaction with the audience and inimitable style of gayiki ! What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulful was the great Khan Saab in performing it ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it to the brim ! "Bahut Hi Chain Mila Sunkar !" What's so special with the great Khan Saab was the fact that he could make the most difficult of the ragas - be it Raag 'Sahera' or Raag 'Darbari' - for instance - among others - look pretty simple - though their deft handling and appropriate application in his divine creations ! What's even more important was the fact that the great Mehdi Hassan Saab could maintain the pristine purity of ragas, while having absolute control over lafz, sur, taal, and loy ! Perhaps, the great Khan Saab was the finest improvisation artist in the World, in so far as Ghazal Gayiki is concerned ! Such was the wizardry of this great Wizard of Music ! Oh, what a terrible loss it was ! It was as if the ROOH(SPIRIT( of ghazal gayiki had gone, along with his sad demise ! Sirji, we are missing you badly ! Irfan Gabol Saab deserves appreciation for his immaculate choice of uploads ! Look forward to listen to many more of such rare and melodious stuff in the days to come !
