Still trying to determine what the real life view will be if mounted on my new Fuji XS10 ( don't need the monster files from the 2 new bodies), Damian certainly provides some interesting alternatives on his channel.
That chap in the Los Angeles Rams cap looks handsome... :D was great meeting you at the photography show. For someone who just shoots for fun like me I reckon this is a decent lens. Still took lots of pleasing photos and I quite enjoyed the bokeh. Cheers for the video from Dom aka bloomylicious :)
Is Meike and 7Artisan the same company? I’m very interested in how the two lenses actually compare. Like, what if they put in more effort in the polishing of the glass on one of them and it’s sharper? Either way, good review. The lens looks super nice too.
For these videos I shoot jpeg, purely so I can have a base level to "review" from. For pro work I'd shoot raw and jpeg, though I wouldn't use this lens for that :)
Hi, Damian. Meike glass appears to be good for the price. I film concerts and it will be very useful for some low light situations. Now about something different altogether - vinyl records. I noticed your collection. Quite similar to mine unless the other wall is as packed too. ;-)) I’m a Linn / Koetsu Black / Class A valve monoblocks / Quad ESL 57 man. Plus DSD128 live material - over 150 concerts. It would be interesting to discuss these interesting things. What DAC do you use? I’d love to share some of the native DSD sessions. Warm regards. S.
Beware that these Chinese lenses Fstop doesnt really translate to real t-stop. The real exposure might be similar to f/1.2 -f/1.4 from Fuji or third party lenses.
Hey Sergei, sounds amazing! I think you're way more technical than me. I'm pretty much old school hip hop style (as I used to make a lot of sample based music) with my technics SL1210 MK 2 as the main table. Way off your kit :D
@@DamianBrown Hi, Demian! As long as you have some reasonable DAC that can handle DSD128 format - you are welcome to native DSD128 compilations from the concerts I accumulated. Just let me know and I’ll send you a Dropbox link. I love listening to vinyl records, but native DSD recordings sound very exciting too.
All these reviews of new cheaper lenses should always compare with older vintage lenses. People who buy cheaper lenses probably thinking of buy those new lenses or buy vintage lenses. I buy vintage lenses wonder if it is better buy new cheap lenses or vintage lenses? I have only Meike 50mm f2 lens and Chinon 50mm f1.9 lens and the new Mieke is better, more contrast and sharper.
@@DamianBrown I was sayin all manual with click-less aperture lenses. Although it seems like Fuji’s newest AF lenses (or atleast some like the new 18mm-120mm) have click-less operation.
Ahhh I was SCREAMING at the monitor "THIS GOTTA BE A RE-BRAND OF THE 7ARTISANS", and then you said it yourself. I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing that haha
