That's how a new cymbal line should be presented, in a musical context. So much more useful than seeing a single stick hitting a cymbal several times. By the way, nice vintage Black Beauty here. What a fat, warm sound.
Great addition to the Meinl lineup. They really needed something like this to provide variety to their artists, even if the tone is similar to other brands.
I have to agree Ian! Really enjoyed that and I’m considering switching from Zildjian to team Meinl because of those foundry reserves and the 22‘ spectrum ride/ 21‘ transition ride and Benny Greb sand set.. we‘ll see what the ‚Herbst Ferien‘ brings ☺️ Danke Meinl 👌and Thanks Jerry Roe 😎👍 Fantastic drumming
@@CipherSerpico Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of those dark crashes, I also have the 18" as a perfect studio crash. The 20" sounds beautiful and balanced. Another favorite of mine is the 20" crash/ride. It's super smooth, trashy and epic at the same time. There simply are too much beautiful cymbals on this planet 😁
Stefan Fröhlich Thank you for you reply. Ya, I think I’m gonna get the Dark Crash 20”, the Traditional Light Ride 22”, and the Traditional Thin Crash 20”.
Yes finally , Meinl did put a vid of actual music on their channel, instead of those 20somethings that play like ROBBY the ROBOT with complete lack of soul. This vid is a proof music isn't as dead as thet propagate. A very nice reference for my students!
It’s whoa dang. ❤❤❤ and those rides as crashes sound amazing. I want foundry reserve so bad. Been binge watching and listening everything I can find all week. And this is by far the best presentation of them I’ve heard and seen.
Now this is how you demo and show off your cymbals properly!! Instead of the usual shit companies including Meinl throw out. More like this please MEEEE INL
These are gonna be expensive as hell I can see it now. But I do want the 14 inch hats. If they are priced the same as other meinl 14 inch hats imma buy them.
nice to hear these cymbals played in a different genre other then jazz, no offense to jazz by any any means, ....those 15" hats sound beautiful, and great playing!
@@stevenpinnock4968 yeah sorry Steve I was just kiddin' around due to the similarities - the credits are only listed in the compilation video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IiESbxqUe0A.html
@@stevenpinnock4968 Sorry about that! we had the credits in the compilation video that Cliff mentions below but forgot to place them in the text to this video. That has been rectified. Thanks! Credits in the text now. - Chris/Meinl
Beautiful sounding cymbals,I just wish the weekend musicians could afford them. The price of cymbals that sound good have absolutely exploded in price. Were talking around $1500.00 or more now days for a ride, crash, and a set of hats from all the leading manufacturers. Sorry guys to rich for my blood.I can only hope somebody will help us. ANYONE ELSE FEELING THE PINCH???
David Suprenant thank you man exactly. I actually bit the bullet and bought some byzance traditional and extra drys and love my purchases but damnnn playing couple times every week being a musician that’s a lot of money and then once the cymbals break you just wanna crawl in a hole and cry. The pure alloys have been a nice addition since they are little lower in price than byzance but still don’t sound like crappy beginner cymbals.
would love some isolated demos. been in the market for a new ride to replace my zildjian heavy k. Have a byzance 18 jazz crash and an 18 extra dry crash with sand hats. been wanting something a little less dry but still a classic ride tone. been torn between the sand rides and a few others. think i might be getting this new 22 inch light ride
