Too many people spend so long talking about absolutely nothing without actually getting to the point of the video. You are not one of them. Straight in and giving the information we all came here for right from the start in a clear and easy to follow manner. That's exactly how to make a great demo, thanks a lot!

Exactly what I needed Kaz, as I am looking for quiet (like 4am in the morning while my wife is still sleeping). You not only covered this but rebound too. I've tried the reflex and like it alot, but the Meinl definitely sounds quieter.

If you're in another room, your wife probably won't hear that pad.

Zildjian now has colors. And great to see them side by side in your video. I have the original Reflexx which the new Zildjian Reflexx pad is unchanged since Zildjian acquired it. Best pad I’ve ever bought hands down! I’d still like to try the Meinl and have it in my collection too.

I cant believe zildjian paid money to buy a compant they glues 2 pieces of rubber to a bit of wood! I guess it was cheaper than setting up to do it themselves.

I have the original Reflexx pad that I bought last 2017 and Prologix practice pad but the Prologix pad are the best practice pad I've evey played. They just feel like a real snare specialy that they have rims.

Zildjian reflexx is awesome. My favorite practice pad I ever had

Great video. Also note that the Meinl has a screw hole in the bottom to be mounted on a cymbal stand. If you want to practice standing up, that might make it easier unless you have a very tall snare stand.

That's a good point!

If the screw size fit, can i use photography light stand?
@KazMogi
@KazMogi Год назад
I think a light stand screw is bigger, but if it fits, it would be stable enough.

@@KazMogi I'm still deciding, but I'll definitely go with a quiet pad option when I get a practice pad. I like the Drumeo quiet pad too.

Both pads seem great, but the Zildjian pad is so expensive. $85 for a practice pad seems kinda nuts. I think I'd rather pay $49 for the Meinl, which is bigger, and then use a towel on top if I want less bounce.
@KazMogi
@KazMogi 2 года назад
That seems like a good strategy! I like the Zildjian but I do think $89 is too much.

I paid $85 USD for the original Reflexx 4 years ago and it’s the best practice pad I’ve ever bought in my 49 years, still play it eveyday and love having two sides. I want to try the Meinl too though.

Pads are crazy money, its a piece of wood with a couple of differant rubber sheets stuck to each side, they must churn them out in a factory for next to nothing, The zildijian should be $49 tops and the Meinl $25. A really cheap home option is a mouse pad glued to a chopping board.

I have the Zildjean Reflexx pad. The bouncy side is coming off the base. I’ve tried gluing it back down but no luck. I’d try the Meinl.

I owned a reflexx for a while before being acquired by zildjian. You definitely have nothing to worry about sticking it in a backpack. You're especially in luck if your backpack has a laptop compartment.

@KazMogi

Thank you! I’m using Vic Firth Roger Carter signature sticks. I wanted MS2s but my local Guitar Center didn’t have them and I didn’t feel like waiting for Amazon.

So the foam is like a Sound Off Remo mufflers? They are much cheaper.
@KazMogi
@KazMogi Месяц назад
Sorry, I misspoke. The material for the Zildjian side WITH rebound feels like the old sound off pads. Just the material though. There is much more rebound than the sound off pads from what I remember.
@DullBoyPxndx

Could you talk about the durability of the Zildjian pad?
@KazMogi
@KazMogi 11 месяцев назад
Sorry for the very late reply. So far, there are no signs of wear on the pad. I don't play it very often. Maybe a few times a week for 10 or so minutes. And I use the same sticks that are used only for that pad. The wear might be a lot different if someone uses worn sticks that might pick at the pad.

Can both of those withstand rimshots?
@KazMogi
@KazMogi Год назад
With clean sticks it should be fine. If you have splintered sticks I think it'll eat away at the material.
