Update | Jamaica still under hurricane warning
The Government is urging Jamaicans to finalise their preparations for Hurricane Beryl early this morning.
Information Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon says the Government notes the latest update from the Meteorological Service of Jamaica that Beryl remains a significant threat and is approaching the island.
She says the Government is taking this very seriously and its disaster preparedness mechanisms have been in high gear.
Morris Dixon says Prime Minister Andrew Holness will continue dialogue with the various state agencies to ensure that the country does all it can to prepare.
The Prime Minister will also have dialogue with Members of Parliament about their role in the preparedness and response effort and assisting Jamaicans in navigating Beryl.
