It's because they wrote forgettable songs like this and the vocals are over produced and auto tuned. It sounds so synthetic compared to the way she sounded on the X Factor.
This is what I think happened… The industry wanted Melanie to sell her soul, and she refused, so they decided to bury her name and make her forgettable, that’s why she couldn’t be famous, it’s sad and dark, and Simon, L.A and everyone there knows the truth and they are all part of the same sick club 👹😈 in the end GOD saved her form hell!!!🔥
Couldn't agree more. When I watched her audition on X-Factor it brought me to tears...she was far and away the best one on the show. Then Simon sent her home...and I was way more than stunned. Simon woke up from his stupor, decided to bring her back, and thank God, she rightfully won the show. SHE IS AMAZING!!!!
And now you know why she's languishing in the industry. There's some, who are influential, who just don't want her to ascend too fast. Jealousy runs rampant in the music industry.

Some people saying this don't fit her and that it's her labels fault or whatever. She wrote the song for one and it's about her challenge in life and what she's been through and her making it to where she is now. I mean no reason for some of the harsh comments.
I get that she made the song herself, but that's probably WHY it's getting this reaction. I adore her voice, but the rest of the music just clashes... That said, it's far better than a lot of other music in this genre, so I don't really mind it at all.

Not what I thought she'd sing, honestly, but hey- she should sing what she WANTS to sing. So long as this is what she has in mind, I'm happy. I love this song but I'm wondering why we never hear anything about her anymore , if it was not because of youtube I would even have missed this girls talent .....I love her and she needs to make an album and release it in Europe
This woman has NOT received the recognition she should. Her voice is spot-on, and so much better than a LOT of current divas. I don't know if the right folks aren't writing songs for her or not...but come ONNNNN!

I absolutely love this song Melanie! Your voice is just amazing! Don't listen to the haters. Just do what you do best and sing. Whether you are under contract and have to sing a certain type of song, I don't know for sure. I just know that you have an incredible voice. I think this song should have gone platinum! I don't care about the video part or who they made you look like, if anyone. The voice is what matters. If I buy a record, I don't see the video. Barbara, Celine, look out!
Amazing Singer, and she won the first season of X-factor, got a record deal, had problems getting her album released, not to mention her single failing to top the charts, and then she disappears. What in the world happened?? I feel like there was some shady business going on that stopped her from succeeding.
honeygroove64 she’s pretty active now on her Facebook and Instagram and has some new singles out Spotify so she has made a little comeback she was also meant to have a tour in Ireland in June but got cancel due to covid
Elton John said it all, Melanie Amaro's success as a super star has to do with the music written for her. Perhaps she needs Quincy Jones and Elton John to collaborate and get this marvelous singer songs which would have her stand out. There great songwriters, choice is also everything! Girlfriend can sing country too! Anyone remember when she sung Desperado on X Factor? She did that song justice. Beautiful!
You know, even after all these years and all these singing shows worldwide.. Melanie stands true as the greatest of them all. Her record label failed her big time. Seriously, anything but electronic dance music.

Look there's going to be negativity left and right but you just got to ignore it and let the positivity and your inspiration continue to let you grow as a beautiful amazing stunning singer! i was in the audience when she auditioned for x-factor. me & my husband were left speechless by her performance. the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. i thought i was in the presence of the next aretha. how disappointing everything has turned out for her. i had no idea what became of her until i googled her name and clicked on her wikipedia page. i thought i would eventually hear her on the radio and never did. such a shame. what could have been. the music business is a nasty one. so it seems. it's survival of the fittest. it's darwinian.
She will be, she is currently doing independent work. Sony refused to let her do anything but POP. Without corporate funding, she is now free to produce the work she did like on xf. coming soon.
Yes, her performance waas awesome, and I think her rendition of "Feeling Good" was was even better than Carlly Rose Sonenclar's the following year. Maybe even the finest ever. True, she didn't do as well as R.Kelly in the duet "I Believe I Can Fly", but that was his signature song, and she could outdo him on most others. But you've got to understand what it takes to make it as recording star these days. Certainly, her voice is in the top circle of performers, but the music industry has little use for hot-looking women who can't make obscene videos in their underwear, writhing like strippers, while seducing 17 guys at once. Another great winner was Sam Bailey. But what chance does she have? X -Factor producers tell contestants anything they want to hear, but how honest are they? After all, they have a show to produce, and that's their goal. I'm afraid Melanie Amaro and Sam Bailey don't have the physical attributes for that. A good thing too; otherwise, they would have to sell their souls to the devil for a few years of fame and money. Instead, they are very fine people, Surely, that's an immeasurably greater calling in the eyes of God.
I agree, and I never understood why, though her voice was a fit for R&B/soul music and power ballads, the powers-that-be gave her dance music to sing. It made absolutely no sense, and the fact that they failed to give her any promotion after showcasing her phenomenal talent and winning a $5M recording contract is simply inexcusable.

I heard this song quite a few times on the radio, but didn't know it was her. She has PHENOMENAL talent, and I'm going to support her (Whether she records and releases music mainstream, or independently).

She HATED recording this song. She refused to work with Sony after this, they kept making her do things that did not compliment her talent and tried to market her as a product. She is currently free of corporate funding and manipulation and is working independently. Expect to hear her latest around April 2015.
I do hope she makes it . . . she turns in stunning performances. I think she made a mistake dropping Sony before she signed somewhere else. Tough to make it without backing of a big name. Hopefully she signed with Cowell (Sysco) as her agent and promoter. Thanks for the update on when her music will be available.
Melanie Amaro has so much talent to offer. The problem is she doesn't have the right team of people behind her. I can't believe people like Nicki Minaj are famous but she isn't, what a true shame.
