Her album was called "Ready to Fly". Her last interview finishes with her talking about 9/11 (an incident involving planes), and she herself says that "tomorrow is not promised", but that life goes on. This is something you'd probably see in a Final Destination movie.

I came across this piece when I was looking at some poignant moments with Luther Vandross, last interview he gave before he passed away, and I felt such a heavy sadness and tears for these wonderful person and her family. so very true "tomorrow is not promised"....RIP sister.
We just lost singer Aliyah August 2001 and then lose Melanie in November 2001. A double whammy both in plane crashes. How scary is that? She was beautiful and what a voice plus looking to spend the holiday with family. So sad.
I was brought here after seeing the video of the three friends dancing in the street to "Be My Lover" on Facebook. I never knew she died so young and so long ago. I'm trying not to cry as I type this because of how much joy she shows in getting to see her family, only to have never gotten the chance. 😥😢
She was supposed to be called the next Donna Summer but her life was cut short. It was devastating but her music, vocals and showmanship will live forever. Thank You Melanie..
We remember her. Rest in piece, beautiful talented girl. First time I heard of La Bouche was summer 1995. I was a kid, but I fell in love in that song called "Be my lover". Many years later I found that she was died in aircrash somewhere in Switzerland or something like that..

I was 3 that year, naturally I wouldn't remember all that transpired that year but Ms. Melanie here just makes me feel warm. She was a beautiful human being and an experience along with Mr. Lane McCray. Hope he gets to see his friend again. ❤️

If she had known that it was her last interview, she certainly would not have boarded the plane. I have played the song wonderful dream about a million times and I still have tears in my eyes when I realize that dozens or even hundreds of lives are always lost due to pilot mistakes, and Melanie was also unlucky. You are still here among us, in your songs and in people who remember you as a wonderful woman with irreplaceable charisma. We send you a big kiss up there.❤️

It’s haunting about her talking about the flights she’s getting on when that’s the flight that led to her death. Also 9/11 which involves a plane crash in the same year.
The headlines were still dominated by 9/11 by then. In the same month, on the 12th, there was also a tragic crash in Queens, American flight 587. It claimed 260 lives. It was a bad month in a very bad semester.
There's a woman at my workplace that just looks like her. I wont go into much details of who she is. God's creation has so many look alikes. Its amazing.
This must've been shot a few days before she died, and not on the actual day. She talks about having a show to do on the 23d, so this can't have been on the 24th. Nevertheless, she seemed to be a warm and kind person, and she was a wonderful singer.
No, she was talking about December 23rd, 2001, which would have been her last show for the Coca-Cola christmas tour through Germany in Nuremberg. This interview was in fact done on November 24th, 2001, in Leipzig, just hours before her plane went down in Switzerland.
