I use it as a co-wash/detangler and I use it to re-moisturize/re-hydrate my twists in between washdays. So in each instance I use it with a lot of added water which works best for my loser coils. Also, I'm not a fan of the smell either. I love both you and Whitney and I want you both to succeed in this influencer space. Thanks for the review and best of luck with your e-book.❤

@@CoilyDiariesshe has a deep conditioner that is bomb. This one you used is more of a leave in or wash out conditioner. I love the smell.

The product disappearing in the hair is not a problem. When it disappears into the hair, it penetrates the hair shaft, thus repairing damaged hair cuticles; therefore, I would not use the disappearing of the product into the hair to determine whether or not the product is effective. Does the product perform the actions it states on the bottle? That's what should be used to determine whether or not the product is effective.

For me it is. as a leave in or deep conditioner, a penetrating product is excellent! as a detangler, not so much. you kinda want a detangler to provide slip on the surface hair of which if it’s just sipping through then you can’t have this. the product is an effective leave in and maybe a deep conditioner with some tricks. and like I said, the instructions on how to use it as a detangler need review in my honest opinion

Hi Coily. There’s a trend around the natural hair community of washing your hair daily, claiming it makes your hair grow faster. Could you please make a video about your thoughts on that? Although i think it might be a lot to wash your hair daily, someone said that white people wash their hair almost everyday or at least 3 times per week and their hair growa faster than ours, and there’s a claim it has nothing to do with genetics… it sound very interesting. Could please do a research and tell your thoughts on this matter? I really value your advice. 😊 How could one go about washing hair daily?Could it be something that you would be willing to try out as a challenge in the future? Maybe if the hair is in a protective style it would be easier? But they claim the hair is always moisturized.

@@CoilyDiaries Anthony Dickey of hairrules is a big fan of washing natural hair every day, (and has some decent hair care advice) but that doesn't work for everybody. There are plenty of people with straight hair who only wash once a week. (And the Blowout Professor advocates only washing every 3 days.) You have to do what works for you.

I’ve been washing my hair every 3-4 days for the past couple of weeks. I have seen some growth and my hair has definitely increased with moisture. I don’t think I could do it every day. Washing every day may not work for some coils because it may cause moisture overload.

I tried washing my hair twice a week before. The pros where less tangles and more moisture. The cons were more manipulation, sometimes my scalp felt tender I'm not sure why, my hair was wet for more days since I air dried it and I used way more product. Sometimes my hair would still look and feel great but I washed it anyway and it then I would have to wait to get back to that point where my hair looked it's best after a fresh wash and twist out. I did not notice a faster growth rate but again the moisture was unmatched.

Your hair is very very thick! I’m not surprised that you were required to use more product and water! My hair is fine type 4 and low to medium density and this product works great in my hair. My daughter has hair similar to yours and she had a similar experience to you. Have you ever used Camille Rose deep conditioners? Or Cecred ?

I don’t know if hair thickness is the issue? I have used other conditioners that don’t do this. I have used Camille Rose deep conditioner before. it’s a great product maybe just a change in instructions depending on purpose of use

The pressure from the water running over the hair loosens the tangles and makes it easier to comb and brush through the hair in the shower. Saves on time and energy imo when I did this. Trying to buy products that work for tighter curls coils and kinks can be a trial and error situation and who got the money to waste trying to figure out the best products to use? I sure don't. So I use what works and stick with it.(Until my hair says otherwise 😅) Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾💜💐😀 Btw. Tatenda channel has natural hair products recommendations you can find in Australia. I think Whitney can detangle her hair with the product when her hair is damp because of the type of hair she has but that doesn’t necessarily work for someone with thicker, coarser hair.

Thank you for trying this product! It's not for me since i do not detangle when in the shower. I do dry detangle as you showed months back. The dry detangle is THE BEST FORM for MY hair! I did exactly as you did, deeply hydrated my hair rhen kept it moisturized daily for a week, then COATED my hair in castor oil to finger detangle and i tell you it was a breeze! From January to June my sged and broken hairs went down by 1/10 and I tracked my shed hair month to month. That's how I know for me, dry finger detangle on moisturized and hydrated hair with castor oil is the ABSOLUTE BEST!

@@CoilyDiaries I'm not going back to brushes or combs for detangling only for finishing a style or when I use a boar bristle to get in between my braids/twists. Just have to stick with it and not get caught up in the new and shiny when ole reliable still works!

Hi, Thats with all conditioners, they penetrate natural tressess with water. I find that with different condish.

My hair drinks products. When I go to the salon, and they apply the conditioner it’s all absorbed by my hair the stylist then reapplies conditioner because she thought she didn’t apply any lol. It happens to me all the time lol

Don't feel about for saying the truth in your review. I never tried the leave in conditioner from Melanin. I have the shampoo, strengthening conditioner and butter. I've been more conscious about chemical ingredients in products and although, I love the butter and the deep conditioner they contain quite bad chemical ingredients. I am a bit disapppointed with Whitney because I would have expected her to be more conscious about ingredients (like Ecoslay for example). Only the shampoo and oil are good in terms of ingredients :(
