Al Bernstein and the other commentator can't seem to get Taylor's age correct. Again Taylor won the gold medal at age 17. He was born October 19th, 1966. This fight is occurring before the Olympics, so there is no way in hell Taylor is 18 or 19, he is 17 here. Again these comments of Horta brilliance, just not seeing it. I am half way through the 3rd and so far I think Taylor won the 1st round, the second round is tough to score because Taylor was winning the round until the knockdown and even then Taylor made have pulled out the round because all Horta is doing is running and flicking out a jab and then a jab followed by a right hand. Which for the most Taylor is making him miss. If Taylor wins, then I have no issue with the decision. Taylor has shown a lot more than Horta.

La diferencia que veo es en la guardia...Taylor tenia las muñecas mas rigidas...y segun veo Horta las tenia mas relajadas... Buen por fin...las habilidades que se consiguen en lo amateur...no cuentan en el campo profesional... Taylor demostro ser un enorme boxeador...en ambos lados pero Horta solo en este tipo de competencia ganaba... No hubiese llegado a ningun lado en boxeo profesional.

The commentator who said Meldrick was 19, he couldn't have been 19. He won a gold medal at age 17 and after the Olympics he turned pro. So not sure why this commentator is saying Taylor is 19. I have watched the first round and Taylor is more than holding his own and he is making Horta miss a lot of punches. IMO of what I have seen in the first, it's pretty even. Horta is a grown man, Taylor is a teenager. I do not see the artistry of Horta so far. The only brilliance I have seen is from the 17 year old Meldrick Taylor.

Meldrick Taylor was a special fighter and I hate that his career has become a mere footnote on a fight that he fought his heart out in and lost. I personally wouldn't have stopped the fight with Chavez, but that's easy for me to say, I wasn't in the ring I was watching from my home and I had the time clock at my disposal. However, Taylor deserves to be somehow including in boxing history based on his own merits and it always hurt me to see Taylor in Legendary Nights. What most people fail to realize is that Taylor could've simply boxed and moved for 12 rounds against Chavez. Taylor didn't have to engage Chavez at all. Taylor could've just boxed Chavez and tied Chavez up if Chavez got inside. In round 3 of that right Taylor fought a round he should've fought the entire fight, as he cracked Chavez with a 3 punch combination and moved out of the way before Chavez could even throw a counter punch. Instead he met Chavez head on and even in the last round Taylor could've simply boxed and stayed away from Chavez, instead he went out and fought like a great champion. Even after the Chavez fight, Taylor had another career best performance in beating Aaron Davis. Davis was 5 inches taller and had 10 or 11 inches in reach over Taylor. Taylor won a clear-cut unanimous decision overcut over Davis.
