I honestly can't thank you enough for sharing these techniques. I was a complete novice 6 months ago but think I could handle an hour long live set after watching you. I'd really like to learn how to make psychedelic FX and ways of incorporating into a track, any chance of a video on that?
It’s something that is on the shelf for future vids indeed. Glad it’s helpful! If you want to hit me up personally consider Patreon. There I share the sounds and techniques
Timestamp 9:00 to 9:30 sounds awesome with that pitch shifting and the staccato arp. For reals. You are legit getting so much better(and this was chill trance and techno to begin with) They do say: you only finally understand something when you attempt to teach people. You might find some next level sound soon if you keep looking tho. I would mess with that.pitch shift for a good 32 bars lol. Octave up, octave down. 5ths or 7ths if they fit.
@@AnalogKitchen I think I forgot in one of the other videos to leave a comment: but that Juno synthesizer keyboard you used was sounding amazing too. Wow. What a phenomenal keyboard. Great music though as always. Have a great 2021.
Correct me, but it is not possible without an MPC or DAW because i can only program 32 steps? So the bass line will be to short. I have an additional roland jp8000 in the setup now, but it seems there is the same thing. But it's still big fun..
Hey Avril. Keep in mind that with opening the release you will be able to maintain those long chords. You could use that for dramatic drops and come back with rhythm chords on the beat!
When the hats came on I anticipated a techno Theme to Shaft wah wah guitar intro. I liked your use of the piano and rhythm. But the beat needs a simple melodic hook sung over it. Something that's easy to hum, whistle, and remember. Otherwise, it sounds like EDM, four on the floor and a swarm of synths. EDM has some good music but it's ironically rhythmically unchallenging for people who are rhythmically challenged. In other words, EDM is for people who can't dance.
New subscriber! Good stuff. If you could say the notes you are playing a bit it would help me please as small screen and mostly listening to audio track. Thanks!
"Should we add the 303?" The answer I think is: "lol, what a silly question" Edit: that is like saying: "We have this downtempo hip hop track...should we add the 808's or live jazz drummers playing hip hop beats?" Both are perfect and epic.
@@AnalogKitchen Yeah lol, if the electric guitar is a 20th century achievment, the 303 sound is too. Always epic. I didn't pay attention too well, are you using a legit 303 now or still the tb-03? Both sound awesome(in fact the tb-03 might be better for house and atmospheric styles). I was just interested which one you used for this newer era melodic techno throwback sound.
@@py_a_thon I’m so fakin it. It’s a TB03. Great Box however, it took me some time to find the sweet spots. It behaves slightly differently. Thanks for watching bro
@@AnalogKitchen Right on, I thought maybe you just borrowed an original303 for the video. I probably can't tell the difference between the tb03 and a 303, they both sound iconic anyways.
Glad you like it! I myself have always learned more from a process than just random tips and tricks. I think there are enough channels out there that do that already.
I definitely love your channel. I learned a little bit of electronic music during the lockdown, I have bought some gear (in a very confusing way) but now I have my personal guru. one year ago I was playing procol harum tunes on my piano 😅
@@AnalogKitchen I'm trying to go deep into my gear to understand what I really need and what sounds I need to create cool ipnotyc sequences. coping your gear is too easy ;-)
@@riccardotorri8648 I also copy pasted when I started brother. The fact you have the same gear won’t mean you make the same music. Just give yourself a ballpark from where to start and elevate from there
@@AnalogKitchen thank you! now I'm learning how to go deep in my instrument and to understand what I really need and what is just GAS ;-) I'm a little bit afraid of instruments that are too easy in producing music. probably something rough but fully programmed/played is giving me more satisfaction.
@@AnalogKitchen it is great. I am feeding it the direct outs of my soundcraft 16 channel mixer. I have unplugged my motu AVB interfaces as a result and only use the l20 to get stems into my DAW after I jam, if they are good
