I just recently found you... I love your videos, are you on ClubHouse? what do you think about the DAWless approach, but with conventional gear, where is analog or Digital? I mean is do what do, but into way, I can't afford now the gear that you want, but I use different methods to create techno
Hi Pablo! You’ve made it, that’s what counts. If you want to connect with more likeminded synth folks and seek answers to those questions. You might want to consider becomes a Patron. We’re with a bunch out there and the questions you have get serious answers out there and on Discord connected to Patreon
@@AnalogKitchen oh wow, that was fast... thanks for the answer, I wish, I can support your patron indeed, unfortunately, my economic situation is not the best at this moment, but definitely, once things get better on I will highly consider, once again, thanks for your videos and definitely you brought me a new way to get inspired to make good techno in an unconventional way...
"never rush into things. let the sound grow and you with it" this line alone is invaluable for techno. great video! i like the setup you got going with the green screen too! oh and dont forget to change that cable! :P
OMG, that has also actually happened to me on more occasions than I can think of. 4am is that magical moment. Going or staying out. That meant not going home ever hahhaa
Hoooooly shit the workflow. "play something first, worry about the sound later." One of my favorite things in this world is to see someone who REALLY knows their rig down to the individual TRS cabling take it through its paces, and whenever I do that what always sticks out is the sheer decision-making speed. It's like watching someone speedrun the DAW session you've been working on since 2017.
This is great. I'll be doing mine all in the box with controllers mostly (yeah I know), but watching your flow through this - and having you talk us through it - is a really good insight inhto the process. Thanks!
New sub, man. I really enjoyed the video and your vibe, man. You really do this for the love of music, i was really in the mood and feeling the track with you. As a Mexican i really love how many people around the world are so passionate being themselves sharing the music. You really inspired me, man. Now let's apply this in the studio, c'mon.
@@AnalogKitchen Sure you did. I like those evolving sequences starting kinda minimalistic and growing along with the filter, cutoff and resonance like tom tailor or routemaster or smitten tracks, or also going with the flanger and voice samples like Spiral Tribe did.
Excellent content man, subbed! 👊 i feel like many producers are over obsessed sometimes with specific sounds and characters of the different categorizations of the sub genres, trying to imitate this or that sound that they forget to enjoy in the process and just express their vibes and feelings into the music they create. Loved your jam! 🙌
Honestly, I don’t use the groove settings but rather place notes strategically within a pattern. Besides that every brand has its Owen groove signature, also midi chains invoke some sort of ‘lag’. I prefer to look at the different boxes and how their sound behaves once they receive a trigger signal and determine how I will implement note placement and sequencing. Hope this is helpful
wow really learning a lot on everyone of your posts! I have a small question: where is located (wired) your launch control? I have a BCR that I'd like to use in a similar fonction and I guess it has to be controlling the MPC?
Anolog Kitchen it's aLL aboUT thE DroP BeatS and RhythmS, FantaStic uPLoad and informative views, keep Doin what you do 🔊🔊🎵🎶👂🏽🎧👂🏽🎚🎛🖥🤳👀👍🏽👏🏽🕺🏾💃🏽👯🏽♀️🕺🤜🏾🤛🏻
16:37 - This bit made me laugh. For a split second this bit looked like you're sitting on a stool swaying your legs side to side with no trousers on. 😆 🤣 Dope vid brotha.
I’m honestly so happy that I stumbled upon your channel! Your knowledge and advice is so on point and is the exact type of stuff that I need to hear! I’ve just left a comment on your Drumcode video asking a question so hopefully you can pour some wisdom on my newbie-ness. Happy Jamming! ;)
Sometimes the stripped down groove is the funkiest. Adding things sometimes kills the drive. There were moments here where you had like only two or three things going and it was nasty. As proof you started moving more energetically. I'm not saying less is always more but the technology allows us to add whatever we want and the danger is ending up with something that is too dense. I have a tendency to do this so I have to really pay attention. You have a great ability to come up with the "right" parts so that each part carries more weight. If something isn't grooving enough for me, before I add something, I revisit the parts that are already there and ask myself, how can I change this to enhance the groove. I'm somewhat of a noob at this techno but I've been a drummer my whole life. I've had dancefloors full of people dancing to my beats so I know what that is and what it feels like. In my experience, simplicity always wins. It just has to be well-executed simplicity. I would be interested in your perspective on rhythm. Why are some rhythms more effective than others? What rhythmic elements are guaranteed to get a dancefloor jumping? What rhythmic elements have you seen ruin a groove? Another thing: I'd love to see you address effects. How to use them properly and when to use what. Thanks for the great vids. I'm all subbed up and I look forward to the next thing I can learn.
Another great segment, AK! Keeps me motivated to not zone-out on one or 2 things, or over do it with too many things, but instead keep morphing into the next "track" when jamming out live. Cheers!
Supp AK, i’m bit confused regarding ‘ audio ins’ into the MPC one. It seems like you can start recording any of your synths w/o changing audio inputs on the mpc. There are only 2 audio ins?? I know this is deeper. Maybe if some more folks are interested, you could do a vid on this topic. Love your channel.
Love how u Talk man. I can easy understand u & get a lot of good quotes for improving my english-skills & Even learn amazing stuff for my studio. Thanks a lot man & greez from Germany ❤
I agree with you on the mixer! I’ve got a working Korg Zero 8 which is perfect for live performance (and studio) use, but I know it can die (or melt) any moment ; ( So, I’m curious about what you are building!
change the cable of the 303! (reminder) your videos are awesome. is so nice of you trying to rationalize everything you can simply do unconsciously.. to show us how to do :)
Just watching this again.....so crazy....!!!! Really enjoyed the way you flip that piano sample into the groove...love the way you dealt with the hand clap....on evey beat....really cool...and also edited the attck on the clap to make it softer... Super!!!
Simple yet effective I guess. If we can keep stuff simple, it will be more fun to make music. Thanks for watching bruv! Did you guys make it late in the discord chat?
Would you say you need a multiclock in a setup with a MPC one, Model D and Korg Minilogue XD? Also, would you recommend a Mixer like a Tascam Model 12 or Novation Launchkey for a nice DAWless setup?
I wouldn't buy a Multiclock if you're not using multiple externally sequenced sound sources. If you have a 303, 101 and MPC then 100% yes I'd recommend the AK-01 Mixer. It's due to come out soon!
Such great content, even years later. I wasn’t sure about the clap but then you detuned it and it sat great in the mix. So many gems in this. Thank you!!
It doesn’t have to be. But tuning is imho important if the musical content is less physically noticeable. You will hear less people complaining about an out of tune kick as opposed to an out of tune lead or piano chord
Hell fuckin yes 🙌 love your energy man. And as someone else put it, you bring the fun back into the production by jammin and feeeeeeling it. Daws are for polish, but that raw human groove can’t be imitated in a daw IMO
Just found your channel and subscribed! I'm a newbie at stuff like this, so I was just wondering where the midi was coming in from for your Analog gear and synthesizers. Cheers
Loved it! Techno is so simple yet feels so difficult to find simple patterns that merge well together to create that groovy feeling, may i ask what drums samples pack you love to play?
@@AnalogKitchen it's a handy little thing. Great for whacking onto synths that don't have their own FX. The algorithms in it are very good and you can also sideload algorithms from other Zoom FX pedals!
On the Minilogue? No, that’s sound design. You can do chords in the MPC but I feel that if you have versatile synths in front of you, it kind of defeats the DaWless concept
