This is one of the few entries this year that I could actually send to eurovision along with Klara Hammarström and Cornelia Jakobs. We need to send something other than cute boys singing pop in english. This is something different.
Let me just take moment.🌹First, this is not something Everybody needs, I surley dont! I know your passion about this it has not gone pass anyone and Im glad for you, but this song is a song that could easily be find in a "best of dance tracs for kids", its easy to like cause a positive and rhytmical sound, but Ive heard this SO many times before, its a cheerful "party song" that I relate to music heard on Aiya Napas partyboats especially when that trumpets come in. There are LOADS of this linear, non complicated, up beat songs that make us in a good mood and want to dance, but does it touch me on a deeper level emotionally? no. Is it memorable in long term and stand out? no not to me. Does it have an originality or is breathtakingly impactful songwise or melody wise? No! Cornelias entry does all those things for me. If this would go Im not sure it will even qualify. But, Im glad that you found something that is for you, thats what music is all about and all that matters in the end! Just my words. Best regards!!🌹🌼🙂
Medina stated themselves that would they have won they would have sung the song in English in ESC though (they did not win however which I'm sure You know by know already).
"In i dimman" means "into the fog", but it´s not about a literal fog, the weather phenomena, it's more like an expression for being drunk. The lyrics are like "live like there is no tomorrow", "dance until we die and sing for everything we've destroyed", "when we´ve reached the bottom, we will rise again". Fun fact: The guys in Medina has also written Liamoo's song "Bluffin" together with Anderz Wrethow and Dino Medanhodzic (Dotter's boyfriend).
Take a lock at the lyric. My though went to Ukraine soldiers, fighting Russia next day. 🇺🇦😢❤️ My dear little one Are you lost? Because this road doesn’t lead anywhere Mother told me Make gold out of silver Then we live as if there was no tomorrow Now we’re gonna dance until we die Sing for everything we’ve destroyed La bella noche When we reach the bottom We will rise up again Into the fog, the fog, yes, now we’re gonna live We’re gonna live as if there was no tomorrow Now the whole world will finally know That we will go the whole, whole, whole way in La dolce vita So many tears That I’ve saved under the stars tonight And mother told me Everything will be okay As long as you live as if there was no tomorrow Now we’re gonna dance until we die Sing for everything we’ve destroyed La bella noche When we reach the bottom We will rise up again Into the fog, the fog, yes, now we’re gonna live We’re gonna live as if there was no tomorrow Now the whole world will finally know That we will go the whole, whole, whole way in Now we’re gonna dance until we die Sing for everything we’ve destroyed La bella noche When we reach the bottom We will rise up again Into the fog, the fog, yes, now we’re gonna live We’re gonna live as if there was no tomorrow Now the whole world will finally know That we will go the whole, whole, whole way in Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh That we will go the whole, whole, whole way in lyricstranslate.com/en/i-dimman-fog.html
I really like this one, it's in my top 3 for the final. And even though I'm Swedish, the lyrics are not the main focus (it's about having fun and not worrying about tomorrow)
This is definitely my second place of melfest after Cornelia. It's a bop, and in a native language which is always a plus. Out of curiosity, will you react to the semi final/ new Andra chancen songs or just the ones that make it to the final?
Hi, thanks again, for the first time I must disagree here, to me this gives me to much resemblance to a "cheerleading unanimus mens choir in a football arena" (excuse me). Even though positive and rhytmical joyful, It has nothing Beautiful in it to my ears, songwise, harmony, melody wise and the melody is not interesting or original enough. Just like a cheerful "statement song", to many surley positive and rhytmic, but if we shall talk quality musically Im sad to say that this will fit better in another content, cause I can hear the latino sound and so, but to compete with the top in ESC, no, not in my opinion. Just my thoughts. Cornelia♥️! 🙂 Best regards!! 🌺🌹
Hi, hope you dont mind me putting in a word here, couldnt resist. I would be Ashamed (as a Swede) if Sweden send this, when we got Cornelia!! (or even Anders, Klara, Liamoo, Faith). This is a joyful, "clap your hands" song with latino wibes Ive heard SO many times before and is not near anything unique, original, memorable or beautiful music wise to me. But thankfully we all have different tastes when it comes to music, all ok. If we send this Im not sure even to qualify, its a song I could easily here on a partyboat in Aiya Napa (excuse me), especially with the trumpets involved.😏 If we want a top placement we send Cornelia. My opinion. But all my love to you! 🌺🌹
@@susanneekelund2425 Cornelias Song is boring and doesn‘t stands out. Medina or Bluffin will stands out, because this is are not a ballad and this year there are many ballads. So if Sweden wants to go far this year, then they have to stand out.
@@dennislemmer946 Hi, thanks for your words. Now, Im very sorry, but in this matter we think very different, and It cant change. We have different opinions on what stands out, and It has to remain so. We like different music, but its all natural! 🙂 Regards to many ballads, its not a reason for having bigger chans to win, It all come down to Wich song that has most impact, how many there are. But I could understand your point of view. Glad that we have our favourites, soon we know who will go to Turin. Wish you the best🤗🌹
@@susanneekelund2425 thank you and yes everyone has a different music taste and that‘s also good because that also makes the music that everyone has different tastes.
This song is such a bop, I was literally dancing to it watching it in heat 4 on my laptop. It is very anthemic, love the instrumentation, the vocals are good but slightly lacklustre, love that it is not a typical song you would hear on the radio, it is so energetic, really catchy although it is in Swedish, love that you cannot place it in a certain genre, it is so different in the lineup this year, love the ethnic chant on the lead-up to the chorus, the staging is great, love its progression, love that it is in Swedish, the staging is amazing and I love the choreography. This song is amazing. There is almost nothing like it this year and I love it. It is a 9.8/10 for me, tying with Bluffin as my =number 1 this year. Btw, if you are doing a top on the contest you should wait until next week to do it since there are going to be four qualifiers from the two seperate semi final round that are the replacement for the Andra Chansen round. And also btw Montenegro’s 🇲🇪 song has been released. It is Breathe by Vladana. And also Malik Harris won Germany’s 🇩🇪 selection with his song Rockstars and you should react to its live performance. Hope you see this comment and I wish you a great weekend.
I am struggling with liking this song, I am sorry, I think it is the instrumental part in this song that makes me dislike it, I hope it won´t win, but so many children vill vote for it. I will be happy if anyone of Cornelia or Anders and even Klara wins instead of this. Take care all!
Hi, couldnt agree more, this could be written by myself. Cornelia first but rather Anders or Klara than this. (Look at my comment above if you want), always nice to share same views with someone. Best regards! 🌹🌺
When I watched this, I thought it was going to be another "chidren will vote for this" kind of song. Surpringly, a lot of the older audicences loved it. They said before performing this song "We just hope people will have a smile on their face when they've heard it". And I was like.... I smiled like a fucking fool, haha! Very unexpected. And I think the sound you're talking about might be more Balcan, or something...? I'm not the best at geography, but whenever a song in ESC uses that background music, it gets an immediate pass for me, hehe.
Thank you Luke for reviewing Medina - "In I Dimman". This is what I call an eastern style song (although, that said, it also reminds me of "Carnaval de Paris" as used for the FIFA World Cup 1998). I like the way the steel drums on stage have fire in them, they add to the atmosphere of the staging. In addition, I like the patterns on the background screen.
Why is it mostly just pics from the performance in your reaction videos ? Other reaction videos shows the full performance. I agree it's a party anthem this one. Interesting to see how the Swedes will vote for it or not.
IMO this song is the best by far from Melfest this year I really hope Sweden will send this, and if not I will still continue listening to this banger xD
I really enjoy this one! At the moment, I hope Sweden send this one or Cornelia Jakobs. I look forward to watching both the final and the semifinal (after DMGP obviously - even though I really don't like any of the songs at the moment xD)
