Rise was in development before world. World's monster footprints are "invisible", but the palamutes will often do a "sniffing" animation while riding them. Some monsters like Rathalos, Tigrex, and Anjanath retained their territory marks from World.
The development of Rise actually started before or around the same time as that of World (based on developer interviews, that they first developed Rise on the 3DS; and datamining, that the in-game monster indices of Rise monsters come before World monsters). It is not impossible that the Narwa theme was already created in the early stages and they decided to use the same tune for the vespoid horns in both World and Sunbreak.
Heck YES, as a longtime HH main, I've been eagerly awaiting this one! The editing on these is always phenomenal, you go WAY harder on these than you need to, and I appreciate every cut of it! It really makes you appreciate the heck out of something you can barely hear over the music - there's something immensely satisfying about both Malzeno horns coming together to complete the phrase from the chorus. Definitely not something they planned from the start, but kinda more beautiful for it?
Can't believe I almost missed this video after waiting for so long. Almost believed it wouldn't happen anymore. But man, the wait was worth it! Excellent follow up to the rise video. It surely took forever to make. I feel your pain about not getting a satisfying conclusion about the vespoid horn. Felt this way about every third horn in the game, guess I'm still bad at recognizing motifs/themes.. It was really mind blowing to finally hear the origins of these horn melodies presented in such a clear way after hearing them in game for I don't know how many thousand times. Thank you for your time and effort. This video really made my day!
I think the vespoid horn's melody probably just uses similar chords or something to the narwa theme. Im not super in the know about music theory, but I know that different songs can have similar chord structures or similar note progressions bc it either sounds good or bc both songs wanted to evoke a similar feeling in the audience.
Excellent work! I hope that it gets the attention it deserves! From watching you work on this for months both over Discord calls and in person, I feel somehow invested in this video too! XD I spent time watching the work, now I want to see the results! ✨Even despite the fact of the confusing Vespoid horn, this video is still flawless! It covers everything and even though I know little about Hunting Horns and how their melodies are from game to game, this makes it so much easier for me to understand lol. nICE work, love!💙❄
For the glass horn, i almost immediately thought of the coral highlands theme at the beginning. Since you mentioned it was from world, perhaps there's a connection there?
Is it possible to combine the sounds from some of the rose and Sunbreak horns together to get a continuation of a theme? As for the vespoid/narwa themeit may have just been a coincidence since it sounded the same in Iceborne and happens to match up with Narwa's theme which in itself was a reference to Amatsu's theme and another hint he would be coming to rise/Sunbreak
Until The Sunbreak... Shall sweet music sing~ ...or someshit like that, anyways as an HH High Priest, this video activates my fucking almonds. I love it so much i couldn't even begin to express it, and I can imagine it wasn't very easy to put all together this perfectly, so just... well fucking done. May the Horns across all the lands play in your honor tonight!
I'm still thinking that last Horn melody is from World Opening main theme 00:45 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-po_t8I9FC2Y.html And since it's confirmed to be originally from world now I'm even more sure e.e Great video as always!
About the Vespoid Horn, I think I might know what theme it's actually referencing. It's the main theme of Iceborne, specifically the first 11 notes. The theme is also constantly referenced in a lot of Worldbornes basic horns like in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yIPLUO3l2Io.htmlsi=uAtE0S2w9hBzB_-Z
Singing the melody some for the Glass Flute, it's definitely a lemotif from World, I just can't recall where it comes up, but it's pretty prominent, you'll hopefully figure it out soon with that nugget of info.
