“Stargazing” is ultimately about finding those brief moments of joy and connection that make our existence meaninful, that give a reason to keep fighting. The title comes from a story shared by an acquaintance on social media about taking a trip with their friend to a remote location away from civilization and the light pollution it brings in order to view a meteor shower. The idea of that moment, laying in a field staring at the night sky, feeling the vastness of space and the connection with a fellow human sharing that experience seemed like a perfect example of a moment of joy, a moment of escape.
