Italy is considered lucky that Chinese government didn’t ban or put high tariffs on Italian luxury goods in to China market. What more does she want from China? A trustworthy friendship and cooperation between both countries took decades to build, and it can be destroyed in less than a day. Ask Milei, he’s an expert.

Just a few months ago she said China played no significant help for Italy’s economy so why go to China to ask for help then, which would only make a fool of herself in the process?

She decided to end Italy membership of the B.R.I., by order of her U.S. boss. So, she should ask him for financial and economic compensation, instead of begging China for help. Unlike Italy, Serbia didn't stab China for its help.

Italy knows they made a big mistake by listening to the U.S and EU and sabotaging their own economy. They look to their neighbor Greece which did not cancel their projects with China and saw how it bore fruit. China helped Greece turn around their port of Piraeus from a stagnating port into one of Europe's biggest and profitable port. Other infrastructure projects in Greece are also being helped by China in its improvement. So while Italy cancelled a lot of their projects with China, Greece has continued to improve their infrastructure these last two years and into the future.

The Italian cancels ' belt and road ' then cries to China for economic help. Conditional help only after Italy's slap in the face of China.

The Chinese are some very practical people,. They understand how and why these small European countries are weak against the American influences, but that is not the reason to stop talking to them anymore. Not the way they do diplomacy under their thousand years culture.

Another good discussion Doc. Personally, I very much agree with your assessment that the Chinese way or approach is way too nice! And in my opinion, it's something that they should consider changing to a certain extent, depending on who they're dealing with. The West in general are more than foolish and incompetent enough to perceive this kindness as weakness. Besides very much lacking competence, the EU and the rest of the West seem to also have a total lack of a sense of embarrassment! Given the withdrawal from the BRI, any dealings with Italy should be under very strict conditions and there should be many barriers for them to re-engage. Meloni has had her fair share of magic mushrooms already but she blew it! So if she's coming back for more, she's certainly gonna have to earn them! Wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her as the saying goes. Calling her a fox is an insult to foxes as she's not on their level of intellect!

President of China will meet Prime Minister of Italy. Italy was the 1st European nations that step forward to help China during the Sichuan Great Earthquake. Italy help China to set up emergency field hospital, equipments include fully equip ambulances (3 vehicles) and work procedures. When Italy left Sichuan, the government of Italy left the equipments to the Chinese. Most China top leaders adopt atitude "Can Forgive Cannot Forget."

She woke up from the fantasy and saw reality moving right past her now she has to catch up to it.🤷🏾

I like to comment on von der Leyen's recent China visit in order to lead to my thoughts on how China will respond to Meloni's intention for mending the China-Italy relationship which she had messed up with to please her "Old Uncle J" abroad previously. My observation is that President Xi met with von der Leyen (representing EU) & President Macron in the joint meeting last week for a useful strategic reason. President Xi took the opportunity to openly speak right on her face, show China's confidence in countering/reciprocating any unwanted & unreasonable foreign oppressions, put pressure on her anti-China intentions of derisking & sanctions on China as well as convey the message once again that EU should act as a sovereign entity for its own pragmatic good instead of serving US as a subordinate. It was practically a dubious treat for her implying debunking her political hypocrisy & disgracing her stance. As for President Macron, he just had to let President Xi say what France wished for to von de Leyen & held the moral high ground of pretending to be impartial. The 18 cooperation agreements made between China & France afterwards tells us that both China & France were mutual winners of the visit & von der Leyen got nothing except embarrassment. As regards to Meloni, I think China keeps an open mind. China's foreign policy has been consistent that it will make friends whenever it can & always treat any adversary as potential friend with room for bettering relationship. Therefore, all will depend on what Italy will offer for win-win results before China will consider receiving any visitor(s) & who will see who in due course. It looks like Italy is seeking some "under the BRI table" cooperations or partnership with China such that on one hand it is out of the BRI by name while on the other hand it is in reality cooperating indirectly in the BRI projects. China is top class in handling this kind of complicated & complex diplomacy & economic dealings & should be in a welcoming mood for any constructive proposals. After all, China & Italy never have any material grudge nor conflict historically to make them enemies.

China should not allow her plane to land on the tarmac ... divert it to Taiwan.

Chinese is nice to EU for a very strategic reason: they don't want to see EU to be totally on the side of US, that would lead to another Cold War (US/EU camp vs China/Russia camp).

Belt and Road, BRICS, SCO, etc. should reject any country that does not have a foreign interference law, as well as those countries that do have foreign interference laws, but which target any of the other countries in the economic cooperation group. In the future they should also block countries that have a history of sanctions, and those that don't back up their currency with gold. But alas, maybe wishful thinking.

Trust and credit is a priority important, if you don't have that you are done.
