Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has shocked NATO with her latest statement. Meloni has turned a deaf ear to NATO's plea to back permission for strikes inside Russia. The Italian PM has refused to join the brigade, which is ready to let Ukraine use its weapons for attacks on Russian soil. She argued that bolstering Ukrainian air defences was preferable to allowing such strikes.

I always wondered why Stoltenberg had such hatred towards Russia, one can find that in several eastern countries such as Finland, Poland with some reasons or the baltic states. It is possibly a reminiscence of WW2 when many collaborated to destroy the then Soviet Union, Ukraine for example had more than 220.000 soldiers under German command. It is always difficult to forget past alliances.

It's actually possible to trace the hatred of Russia in the West back to the founding of the state. There was a huge fertile land with abundant resources that always seemed to be ripe for plucking by any country with a military. I found 37 invasions in 1,000 years. That was every generation. You just know that every one of those invaders called them Russian thugs before they invaded and claimed that God was on their side. It always looks easy and then it always fails. This is the latest chapter in an old story. What we call Russian "paranoia" is remembering history to them. We should remember it but it's not taught outside of Russia.
