Ironically enough last i checked you can't rotate textures like that because of how they're mapped, so this only half ridiculous!

@@Epsicronics Simple solution: retexture a log or something else that can be rotated to look like a melon or pumpkin, then use commands or the debug stick to make the stem connect to the sideways-facing log. If it's just for the video, this would work just fine (I think).

All they’d need to do is make Melon and Pumpkins placable on their sides, then they could grow sideways and the stem can grow into the top stem texture, ans when harvested a melon or pumpkin would be as normal.

Instead of just like, retexturing a log or something to show a rotated melon texture, Phoenix straight up made a voxel spherical melon, added it into the game, made it rotate 90 degrees, AND had it stretch out horizontally (technically vertically because of the rotation but you get the idea.) This man is insane.

It would make sense if Pumpkins and Melons could be like Logs and can be placed vertically, when they grow in a farm they are naturally facing vertically but when the player picks them up and places them then they are upward.

this would be a very easy problem to fix, say there is a stem surrounded with dirt, Minecraft would then when the time is ready will randomly choose one on the dirt blocks to grow the melon or pumpkin on, now say that in this case the melon decides it wants to grow on the westward block for then the stem would be facing west, but instead of the texture being up, the texture would be facing east, this way the texture and the model would line up, doing this would solve this problem and Mojang would only have to re-align 8 texture depending on which direction the pumpkin grows.

I was today years old (and I’ve been playing MC for a long time) when I learned melons/pumpkins grow onto adjacent blocks only when they’re dirt. I’ve been out here for years frustrated that they always grow incorrectly or never how I want them and turns out I was just doing it wrong.

Really easy fix, give melon/pumpkin rotation like wood logs. Gives builders more variety with them and makes the stem make sense, for the block to spawn rotated with the top of the block facing the stem. May need to adjust the texture so the stems actually connect. Also I have no idea why I still follow you because my god was that cursed.

My favourite resource/texture pack is Mizuno's 16 craft and there are many reasons, this stem thing is one of them. Great pack, been using for many years.
