Damn, the sequence at 0:56 was so nasty -- Akiha ends her combo, goes for an airdash setup, Arcueid activates moon drive to confirm the situation and anti-air, Akiha reacts to the moon drive, aborts her attack and instead shields to beat the anti-air, gets the hit and then follows up with a combo. There's a combo ender, a setup, an activation, two reactions and a combo starter in ~3 seconds.

I Just love that Akiha's voice sounds more mature than Arc's, despite the fact that Arc is actually older by 800 years.

I couldn't even focus on the gameplay, that song is waaay too good.

How can you watch this and not get excited? It is great to see Melty Blood back and how the gameplay looks like it got ramped up to 11. Hopefully, when we start to see a return of in-person tournaments, we'll be seeing a lot more in the future.

1:14 I love the unique serious cut in for Arc when she loses a round. Also having her throw her arms up in the air to get psyched for the next round is adorable. September 30th can't get here soon enough!

Appreciate them going more lore specific with hitsparks too. Shiki got Hyde's death sparks being the original death lines guy, but Akiha got her own deal. Like sure, it spoiled the trick to it, but Akiha's heat burning isn't inflammation, it's rapid atrophy and hypothermia from extracting heat to even a meta level like instant frostbite. So it makes little frost particles to stylize it. Akiha has no magus talent in herself tho, plus being in a no human order universe. So she's not aware at it's full use, it expands its range and ability to her entire general area like Domain Expansion. Ultimately, making it she can't upgrade it to NP levels and those with spiritual talent react to it as tho it's nothing more than a really hot spider web.

Akiha let Arcueid win in the second round. That akiha player is a great actor and player

Man the Moon Cancel stuff looks sick as shit. This game is looking like such crack. God the combos in this game are gonna be magnificent to watch and discover.

One thing I LOVE about these gameplays is that they're not showing too much which leaves more than enough material for character exploration. Grateful for that.

Anyway, I'm going to keep pointing out stuff that looks cool like I've been doing. 0:31 few seconds in and I'm already seeing rejumps (sad that it dropped) 0:43 is that a combo off a throw? 0:51 this one didn't dropped nice, and since she didn't used her double jump, she kept her air dash and used it to get good oki. 0:59 arc drive looks so cool at the end of a combo 1:16 holy shit they're fast 1:20 and there's wall bounce combos too? Neat 1:32 back to your damn corner 1:42 "your journey ends here pilot, the skies belong to me. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide." 1:48 that corner carry 1:54 what a conversion 2:09 cross-up? 2:33 - 2:43 this is the sort of combo into setup that I'm looking for 2:53 look how cool this looks. There's so many different crossups in a single combo. 3:04 oh that's right. She's in moon drive that gives her an extra jump, so with that she gets longer combos with it. Also that low crush looks sick 3:14 yup, another combo into setup. It seems that she only gets it off knockdown from super (or EXs I'm yet to discover the difference visually) since there's a lot of advantage frames. She also used a frame kill with a crouching jab to help timing that, that's cool. That setup also looks really hard to block, the high low mixups are real with this one. Also the bgm sounds sick as hell. The piano starting at 1:16 sounds so good. And that's about it for this one.

I thought the new Roa would keep me from playing Akiha again, but now that seems impossible. I love how the design managed to combine her most of VAkiha's mobility with Seifuku's setplay, Akiha still is my favorite character in the game

I’m not a die hard Megaman fan, but I played 1&2 for the first time a couple years ago. Really enjoyed the soundtrack and the game. Anyways, 1:48-1:52 sounds like a piece of one of the Megaman tracks. I could be alone here.
