Nirvana and Melvins are two of my favorite bands but all the people out there arguing nirvana is better or melvins are better are just... WOW. The melvins, who created great music, were one of many bands to inspire Kurt, who also wrote great music, but, Why argue?! Just enjoy the GREAT music.

First of all it was not broadcast on Slovenian TV it was broadcast on Cratian TV - the name of the TV show was Izvan Struje (Out of stream), author of the show was Damir Tiljak, he did a lot of TV shows about non mainstream and alternative bands. He had crew of 3 people (including himself), he was editor, producer, manager and man behind the mike! At the and of the show was interview with Chris Novoselich. I suppose you cut it out because it was on Croatian?

Next time you decide to disparage anything either Buzz or Dale say about Kurt Cobain , if anything or/and at least remember this video, just months before Kurt offed himself ... The Melvins, Dale having recorded what I consider the 1st Nirvana album with Kurt and other projects before that ... Buzz having hooked Grohl with Kurt as they were looking for a ´John Bonham` type of drummer ... these guys knew him as you know a childhood friend ... think about it next time you think other people´s own versions of events are more valid than Buzz or Dale´s .

I read an interview with Buzz where he said that he spoke to Kurt on this tour and Kurt told him about problems he was having with Courtney. Buzz told him to run as if his life depended on it,give Courtney everything and that he'd be fine and could just do small acoustic shows. He said that was the last time he ever saw him. If only he'd listened to Buzz-maybe he did and was in the process of escaping when he died? Who knows.

In response to some of the comments here, why on earth would the Melvins be upset/jealous/whatever because Nirvana "made it big"? Assuming they associate popular success with selling-out I'd think they themselves would want nothing to do with it, but why would it bother them if Nirvana went that route? I don't know much about their music but they obviously are not blessed (shall we say) with Cobain's drive, ambition or talent and thus will have to be content with a certain level of cult-band notoriety. That should suit them just fine... allows them to remain on the fringe and indulge their punkness as they deflect questions with forced adolescent humor. Makes you wonder why they would want to tour with Nirvana while that band was at the height of its fame.

Melvins kickass. They are not better than Nirvana. Nirvana also kicks ass. Nirvana is not better than Melvins. Buzz can be an asshole sometimes. Kurt could as well. They both however, wrote some great fuckin music and changed an entire industry's idea of what rock/pop music could be. Quit trying to pit them at odds with each other and enjoy what they created.

Kurt was clearly still alright being able to play a show like that in 1994. He had so many more years to live, even if he had lived them as a hardcore junkie like Layne and Layne was doing speed balls. Kurt was “only” doing heroin. There was no reason to bully him into rehab. His body his choice.

The Melvins are more punk metal with a Influence of Black Sabbath. Nirvana is Grunge pop rock with catchy hook melodies like the Beatles. Kurt knew how to fuse the two together and Grunge is born . # 🎸🎸🥁
