Unfortunately, we'd be in the same predicament (at least economically) no matter WHO was in office right now.. We're here because of happenings on a global scale..No one person can solve this. In fact, the POTUS has very little control over the economy. it's just going to take time for the supply chain to recover, and the growth rate to stabilize. And the inflation comes when an economy goes from a negative 3.4% growth rate to positive 5% in a one year period. An overheated economy is driving inflation worldwide, it's not just us. (And personally, I'd like to see a Raskin/Porter ticket..It's a better sell to moderate Democrats, IMHO)

As an Aussie who watches US politics, there are a stack of congress people I hear about because of scandal, abusive behaviours, and outright looniness. There are only a handful I hear about for their sense, compassion, and actually doing their jobs. AOC is one of the latter.

I know I have seen actual cost estimates at one time for Universsal Healthcare, and with the savings in labor alone in processing all the various different kinds of insurances, it already becomes cheaper. We have a very top-heavy system here in the US. With Universal Healthcare, there's only one system, so you don't need the staff that we're currently paying now. BTW, I didn't mean to imply that Denmark was socialist. I was pointing out that Americans that are more conservative see anything like Universal Helathcare as socialism. Yes, Bernie does belong to a group referred to as a Democratic Socialist group. I don't think it's a legit party here though. It's just some folks. like myself, who think we should have rights to basic things like Healthcare. Capitalism would still thrive under Bernie's plans. He would tax the rich heavily as they were back in the 1950 and 1960s. Those taxed and closing all the tax loopholes would fund the entire thing. We have a lot of alcoholics here too. We also have Heroin addicts, Meth addicts, etc. It doesn't matter what sort of government you have, there are always going to be people who choose to use and abuse drugs and alcohol. I just think Bernie is a good man with some very good ideas who has been screwed over in two elections in a row by the Democrats.

Hi Phil It’s all very well saying these things when you’ve got 98% of democrats supporting you, but when it’s a tough vote (Nancy for speaker, Israel) she goes missing and votes with the establishment, when she is needed and the establishment are against it, she goes missing (The Amazon vote and supporting Nina) I really wanted her to be ‘The One’ but she aint it, She’s flashy. She’s charismatic, charming, funny and fierce on occasion, but only when it’s ‘safe’ to do so. There is plenty from here in Europe that I'd love to see in the U.S. But I'm talking about the sillier shit. Like AOC talking down to people who don't understand the new pronouns, or instead of saying women when talking about abortion saying "menstruating person." I get what she's trying to do. I appreciate it. But, I'd rather see good ideas implemented than moral ideologues who fail to implement anything. So far that'd AOC. She's beloved. But she's failed to bring about any meaningful legislation in congress and, as a liberal, that's pisses me off.

There is too much at once we're trying to jam down centrists throats. Because we're not convincing MAGA republicans of anything. This is about a small portion of centrists who eschew extremism from any side. We can be ideologues and congratulate each other on how pure and progressive our speeches and bills are.
