To why men tend to avoid therapy is multiple things. One being a lot of therapists simply don't get what makes men tick. And thus they have no value to said men.

Her: explain all the video game controllerd put through a wall men Me speaking as a man: in general women are FAR more emotional, BUT; when it comes to anger, I find those positions to be completely reversed, and that is backed by science. Men evolved so that when we get angry (or just stressed in general) that tension builds; and builds; AND BUILDS, and violence was the only thing that could release that pressure. The point of this was that eventually we would, I believe the term is "explode", are anger would explode, and subsequently override our sense of reason to FORCE us to take out all that stress and anger and frustration, on some poor defenseless animal that is irrelevant to us personally. At this point the pressure would be reset and we would take the random animal we killed back to, let's just say camp, so that it could be cooked into food and humans had meat to eat!!! which back then was undoubtedly 100% necessary to get enough energy to survive. Back then you could literally have ate plant foods all day long without pause (assuming you had access to that many plants which just didn't happen) and you would still starve to death. Simple fact is that the plants that existed back then were not nearly as sustainable, especially when it comes to a animal with a human brain in between their ears!! which in nature is the biggest energy/ nutrient hog that exists on earth today when it comes to a single organ, and this is by no small margin... In modern-day many men use video games to simulate the violence they need to release the pressure, which can work VERY well!!!! ... assuming the game doesn't start glitching out in such a way where you can't win, doesn't turn out to be more difficult than it should be, etc. P.s. the human brain does absolutely know the difference between simulated violence and the real deal this has been proven, but when it comes to releasing the pressure the human male brain doesn't seem to care which it's dealing with which is a huge boon for us because we genuinely have no other option to release this pressure in modern day...

I can agree with getting a man flowers. Yes he will be severely confused but it will stick with him for the rest of his life. If not flowers just an occasional compliment will go a long way. Most of my wardrobe is blue because a girl in highschool once told me I look good in blue.

Many guys will probably appreciate the gesture, but you can cook for us or blow us, or give us something useful like a wrench set or something. Especially if we're the type to DO THINGS? Give us tools to help us do those things better! It's not hard to figure out roughly what tools we have and don't, and just buy a set of something we don't have. Ratchet & socket set? Multi-tool cutter, sander, etc. plenty of stuff. I can't speak for all men. Not even all straight men. Some dudes may appreciate the flowers even more than something useful... but I can almost guarantee that if we do ANYTHING, getting us a tool for that thing will be one of the things we could appreciate most. Does your man cook? Buy a new cooking thing. Recipes can be found all over the Internet, but they'd probably still appreciate a cookbook... Or get them a new type of pan or something. Do they bake? Do they not have a bunt cake pan? Get them that! Do they do art stuff? Woodworking? Painting? Warhammer 40k? Get them a new mini set or a batch of paint or some rare wood or something. Pay attention to their interests and get them something useful to it... even the guys who WOULD appreciate flowers would probably appreciate that, more. Or at least about equally. Not to mention apparently different flowers have different meanings? Most dudes are probably only going to go as far as "These look nice." Some might pay enough attention to know if YOU have a preference for a particular type, but they probably still won't know the meaning. IF you're going to do flowers anyway, and want to convey the meaning... include an index card or something that explains. Like, "These red roses represent our passionate love, the yellow tulips my undying loyalty, the blue chrysanthemums our bright future, hopefully with kids..." or whatever tf they mean lmao. Don't just be like, "These all mean something." and then expect us to google it or something. If you're cryptic like that, we'll probably just assume something means you cheated, or suspect we did lol. We're not gonna go the extra mile to figure it out... probably. Idk. You should know your man best. But I recommend something longer lasting. Like a wrench set. You can even strange them into a bouquet and present them in a vase or bucket or something lol.

About the guys room: If I know where everything important is and can reach it, the room is tidy. Everything else is vanity.

My room/house is a mess, but it isn't filthy. It's a clean mess. No food or anything laying around. My kitchen table is covered in tools, junk mail, and fishing stuff I haven't put away. My computer room floor is lined with receipts from home renovations I haven't organized.

To understand mens living spaces you have to understand some things about us. We are not very good at being in touch with our emotional state, so the mess around us doesn't noticeably affect us, not on a conscious level anyway. So we tend to always prioritize usability over aesthetics. We only need one little corner of the room to hang out, and that makes the rest of the house essentially just storage, it's basically just wasted space that has no purpose so it can be used for anything, trash, laundry, unfinished projects, etc. For space to make sense to most guys it needs purpose. Guys will not take all their screws and just put them in a box for screws, unless it's the leftover box. One box for each different type of screw, these boxes have purpose. And a car is something with not only a purpose, transportation, but it's a very small space so each area has defined purpose, cup holder, passenger seat, etc. It can also get messy if you never use the back seats for example because then that area loses it's defined purpose. Not all guys are messy, but the ones that aren't (not counting those that are forced to not be by their wife/GF) are usually extremely organized and have a dedicated space for everything. Even in chaotic spaces guys usually have some order even if it doesn't look like it, we do tend to find what we need in that mess relatively easily. Point is that men don't connect with their surroundings and experience them as a connection of themselves on an emotional level in the same way a lot of women do. Something we probably should, but it's hard for us to experience the world like that consistently. Lots of us only feel safe enough to feel that way when we're out in the woods far away from people and society, hence why we like it out there so much.

I would much rather date a woman who never wears makeup that one that always does. Honestly heavy makeup is off-putting. I get the usual day to day but the "special occasions" thick layered one makes people look worse imo

2:26 the drunk walk home is so so so real XD I remember one night we had gotten tipsy at party and at some point, the four of us unanimously decided that while the party was kinda okay, we had to head back our friend's place we were crashing at at the time. Problem was that, the place was like 10km (a little more than 6 miles I believe?) away, but none of the cabs we called were answering, so we were like, eh, screw it, time to walk. Cut to some indeterminate time later, we, again unanimously decided that we needed some pies on this epic journey, and it was like damn near the dead of night with almost no cars driving around. That late, only filling station stores were still open and they were VERY hit or miss with the availability of their pies, but the single braincell and stomach we shared that night demanded us to hunt and find that one store with a fresh batch of pies waiting to be consumed. To this day, I still have no idea how it actually took us to look for and find those pies (pepper steak will never ever stop being the right choice) though I think we visited like 8 stores in the process and then how long it took for us to walk home, arguing about the merits and demerits of various pies, local and international, all the way back...literally. All we know was that time may as well have stopped, because for some reason, when we got back, locked things up and crashed, we all woke up right as rain as if we had a full 8hrs of sleep.

Whenever I see those why women live longer than men memes, I think about the best piece of wisdom I was ever given "Women grow with intelligence and that comes from books and school, men grow with wisdom and that come from experience. It's better to trust the words of a wise old man then the words of an intelligent old women, then listen to the women so you know how to get the results you want." I think most guy prefer women to fix their problems by taking care of their health rather than hiding them using makeup. Yes, being ugly usually is a result of taking poor care of ones health. As a guy I do not want flowers. For the first 10 years of the business I worked in, I handled flowers. Allergies, the mixture of scents giving me headaches and customers who want the PERFECT set of flowers after going through twenty of them that looked perfectly fine, I want nothing to do with flowers until my deathbed.

If anyone is struggling with a messy room, just do what I did; -Buy a tape measurer if you don't have one, and measure out the free space or potential free space in your room, -Come up with a simple design for a shelf/cabinet/desk (or combo) that can fit in that space, -Choose a good size for your screws (you'll keep this in mind when designing unless you want to just buy a bunch of screws) ^make sure they are wood screws -Buy plywood and boards (you can probably get everything cut right when you buy it at the hardware store (the guys there can help you out with any extra questions) -Drill a small hole to help line up screws (Buying a drill is worth it, you'll use it forever and ever.) -You may want to sand it down, or paint/stain it, ALWAYS do this outside. (wipe it down with a gently damp after sanding and be paranoid if spraypainting) And the most important thing is that the price of materials and tools ends up being much less than half of what buying everything pre-built would've cost and it all fits perfectly too.

Most of the girls I've dated or just known generally look better without makeup. In the rare instance when I get to see them like that. I try to tell them this but they get defensive and say they need it. As with most things, it seems women do things because of social pressure from other women or media. Not "for the guy."

Seriously, The majority of men think it's harder to go to therapy than to let it die out somewhere quiet and alone. For me, just thinking about going to therapy feels wrong. Maybe these insecurities come from how I was taught to live. As a man, and as the first-born son in a traditional Asian bureaucratic family, I was taught to be tough, strong, and a traditional gentleman. I was told not to cry, not to speak out, to keep my thoughts to myself, and to let them die in my head. My grandparents always had their eyes on me, I have three uncles, and my mom has high expectations of me. I can't fail. . It makes me feel like if I go to therapy, my 25 years of life are over. If I let them down, it's over. If I admit that I can't take it anymore and that I need help, then everything I've been through will be meaningless. Never in my life have I been told to share my bad feelings with someone, and before I noticed it, I couldn't do it anymore. I just don't know how to do it.
