same D/D/D is always frustrating to play against but when you decide to try, you look at the effects and my reaction was "i get it" however half of D/D monster cards is just one effect and i was just thinking how did anyone handle this although imo I like phantom knights more. xyz is my thing nowadays

first game back after 4 years my melodious deck got destroyed by Dragunity so fast Aria became a life support rather than a lockdown, it was scary as fuck and idek where to start building my deck if I only have one turn to learn the new meta

Isn't this basically almost ANY deck nowadays? Sure, there are hand traps and decks that like to go second, to some extent, but I just watched the plays of one of the competitors on the online championships today, and that seemed to basically be the whole duel in turn 1, with like 20 plays before their opponent even got the chance to do anything. That's not dueling, and is what is making me not even WANT to get back in the game, not to mention how Konami has errata'd so many of the original, older cards, that they are basically useless now.

This makes me think about when j was a child and always choose ti go second because i wanted to Attack😁

@@mnementh2000 Absolutely not. Duels still go into many turns, erratas are VERY rare and there's still a lot of interaction during each others turns. It's much fast paced, sure, but in my opinion, that makes the game better, since it makes decks a lot of consistent.

@@syeungmin6204 We will have to disagree on these points. Quite a lot of the older cards have been errata'd to some extent or another, many of them to the point that they are no longer usable. True, some needed it, like Chaos Emperor Dragon, but others like Crush Card Virus or Ring of Destruction are now basically useless cards, as CCV actually AIDS your opponent now, rather than harming them, by allowing them to set up their graveyard how they want for future plays, and RoD no longer allows you to pull a mutual destruction out of a guaranteed loss. I understand that Konami doesn't like ties, but that was a viable solution at the time for stopping such a loss. Duels really don't tend to go too many turns, from what I have seen, unless times have changed once again. Too many times have I seen the opening plays end up locking out your opponent from doing anything, only to win within a couple of turns total. Sure, you get the occasional match where there is SOME back and forth, up to 8 or 10 turns overall, but, as far as I could see, that just isn't the norm. And, yes, there is interaction, only to the extent of "do you have anything to stop me from playing my entire hand and half my deck and extra deck before I have a board to stop your opening plays". That's not interaction, it's bad game design. And as for the fast pace, it's only become faster over time, and it's not a sign of consistency, but bad game design. When you can open up the game by spending 5-10 minutes playing out your whole hand and half of each deck, then be able to shut down your opponent's opening play by the effects of everything you have on the field and in hand, that is terrible game mechanics. Konami has only allowed this poison to continue because the 'players' don't know how to take the time, nor do they have the patience, to set up their plays anymore. They want everything NOW, not in a few plays, where their opponent may be able to disrupt them. Back when I last played competitively, just after the release of Synchros, it was the norm to hear that a deck was terrible or useless if it didn't win in 2-3 of your turns, and there were many of the 'players' that would quit if you forced the duel to play out longer, despite them playing meta- and net-decks. And the 'game' has only degraded more, with the pace speeding up more and more. At least with other TCG's there is a cost system, such as M:tG's resource costs, where you have to build up and manage "Lands" and mana to 'pay' for your actions, which slows the game down to a manageable level and allows both players equal chances at playing and winning. Really, YGO has become a coin-toss-to-see-who-wins 'game'. As much I loved the game back when, when it first came out and up to around the time of early Synchros, I absolutely loathe what has become of it, and how so many of the mechanics have been utterly ruined and changed beyond recognition. I reiterate what I said in another post, YGO has no real future as it is now. You may get some new players, but the complexity of the rulings, errata's, lack of actual dueling, and more, holds many back from even giving it a try, and turns older players who enjoyed the game as it once was away from coming back to it. I have talked to quite a few people who have looked into getting into a TCG, and almost all of them have decided to stay away from YGO and turned to M:tG due to it's simpler, more interactive game play. Heck, I'm not even sure if there is anyone in the area who still holds YGO tournaments, as the shop and store owners want nothing to do with the YGO players, with the "elitism attitudes they hold, not to mention the rampant theft" - their words, not mine - that they have dealt with. Heck, most of the stores that carried YGO have stopped, or don't get the releases until months later, to try to cut down on theft. Toys-R-Us stopped carrying it a couple years before they closed and stopped holding tourneys before that due to huge losses from theft, Walmart and Target in the area don't order product until months later, and the local card shop and the local GameStops carry VERY limited stock of new products, because they really don't want to either have stock sitting around forever, or don't want to deal with the "toxic" player base (card shop's excuse).

Assuming they didn't drop Evolzar Dolka or chain Misc, that is xD. Not to mention Dinos are surprisingly resilient to Nibiru even without them. As long as you summon Tyranno LAST and keep the Evolution Pill on hand, you're good. If they Nibiru early all they do is give you free graveyard setup and the green light to use the pill, and if they never use it, UTC is still good on it's own and all the other dinos you have will deliver a game-winning beatdown. Even the artwork of the Tyrannos lampshades it, all this devastation and volcanic eruptions on the background is what would realistically happen after a Nibiru impact. My favorite way to proceed, if my opening hand allows it, is to drop 5 monsters with the correct attributes and summon Link God Dragon, sometimes at the cost of the pill. If they wait for UTC they will loose their entire field.

I have a brother here. I also love to play Cyberdragons and Chimera OverD is just overkill. Anything beyond 4 or more used fusion materials for this monster is just insane 3200+ x Attack and he could attack 4+ times? And let's say you'd also have limiter removal?...But my favourite Fusion dragon has to be Either Cyber Chimeratech Rampage Dragon or Eternity Dragon. Both are so good!

At this point, there really is no future for Yugioh. It doesn't resemble the game that it once was in the slightest, and is no longer dueling or enjoyable. The whole 'we've got to keep evolving the game to keep it fresh and interesting' line doesn't work for what Konami has done to the game.
