Oh my goodness I relate to that sooooooooo much! Taking in the outside world, processing it immediately, and having to work in reality, in real time, is so exhausting. I know 99% of the world seems to think I'm crazy and completely doesn't understand, but for us it is absolutely real. Those are the moments that make me feel like my brain lives in another dimension. (I'm a commercial photographer, so a creative as well.)

The analogy of trying to stay awake driving is so good. I work with a guy that I believe is Fe/Ne PBSC. The way he looks when I am trying to give him detailed, sensory, data is just like a person fighting not to fall asleep at the wheel. Thank you so much for that analogy.

INTJ Consume last here. I am notorious for reading the entire plot of a new movie online on wikipedia before watching it. My friends get mad at me for that, but I wanna know if I like something before actually investing my time in it. I like new experiences, but the idea of not liking it, regreting it and wasting time for it makes me paranoid.

If functions could detach themselves, my Fe already ran into the mountains to join a nunnery. Se and Si are huddled together in a corner and Ni left a note explaining that intuition isn’t real and stormed out my back door . Time for a consume diet 😂

Brilliant description 👏🏻👏🏻. Being consume first Ti/Se I too couldn’t care less about pop culture, what’s on Netflix, etc. but..... I can stay on task for hours on end, fully engaged or what I like to call “plowing”. I can plow for hours without blinking. Great video

This idea of the last animal being so demanding that it's mentally draining is interesting to me. I'm motivated to do challenging mental tasks (well the emotion is there even if the action isn't). I don't know my animals because I was typed in another system (ISFP).

Consume last until you find "The Thing" and suddenly.... it's the only thing you can do. I'm play last, so it's often hard for me to jump into that high powered action.

This is hilarious! I love that we're both NTJs in the "creative" industry. I used to think I liked doing camera until I realised it takes way too much attention from my brain and I'd rather do the whole organising/behind the scenes logistics (which is why I mainly produce or do post). Coincidently, my favourite people to work with in production are high Se users.

as an intj myself, i DO BELIEVE that the problem we have when in such situations as being a camera switch operator IS that we are SOOO FOCUSED ON the JUDGING/ORDERING of THINGS (which camera shot is the best and when) that we lose ourselves from the moment and it is THAT EXACT time when we lose ourselves from the moment that it slips by us. it CAN REALLY BE QUITE FRUSTRATING. and, i do not know how others do it. im thinking those who can are VERY PROB xxFx types that can 'feel' those things through better without second guessing the senses and thoughts they have going on.

this makes me think there is a notable difference between: Consume Oe+D *actively* scanning sensory Se info in order to *make decisions* in the moment (using any decider function?), vs *passively* using observer functions watching TV etc., where no decisions are required. (Oe+Oi = uber observer state?) passive consume is easier? But still nothing compared to "High Play" people who can be responsive to the environment for hours!

Intj here, I own a car that I religiously keep maintained and service myself, but I let my istj girl drive because I can't control everything other idiots do on the road and it pisses me off too much.

Great video! But I have to add something in order to clarify possible confusions: That difficulty of focus could also be to the Fi function. I don't have consume last, that slot is occupied by Sleep. So I have more of a tendency for Consume than you. But when I have to do Consume on thinks that I don't get joy or are not important for me I experience the same lack of focus.

I have never fallen asleep behind the wheel. If I feel tired I don't drive or I pull over.

(Steadfast ISTP) As a Consume 1st who works in Television, sitting behind a switcher or working with Production in general is like a drug. Having to be in tune with the flow and dynamic of a live situation is where time ceases to exist and there is only the moment and what it calls for. Hours can go by and there is only the feeling of the projects progress [Se] and the overall mood of the crew as a result [Fe]. Drawbacks to this superpower? Inability to start organize things and follow through for myself and difficulties with communicating things effectively between fellow humans. Can't have it all I suppose. (shrugs)

What I love is everything you said made perfect sense. But the only people who really get what your saying are INTJ. Im actually a ENTJ and had to decipher per say what exactly are the underlying words and how there being used . Haha my closet nerd side of me is just hooked with you on this stuff.

Thank you that was an inspiring video! I can see my INTJ friends being quite like that, two of them being FM for sure. So that makes sense. I feel like the way you describe the exhaustion feels a lot like what it is that beaurocracy does to my ENFP brain. It is crippling how I am not able to do the simplest things in that area without instant exhaustion. With your understanding of the functions and of the animals and of the sexual modalities, would you be able to guess what is going on there? Is there any function or animal that I could emulate maybe for a couple of minutes at a time, to get any paperwork done, ever? Or a way I could approach the task to get it done, something that kind of bypasses where the problem lies, or some approach that tricks the part that gets exhausted so easily.. ? It is just ridiculous how hard it is for me. I feel like my Fi says no this is not aligned and Ne says we need an overview of the whole beaurocratic system and what is behind every step, before we can make correct decisions on anything here, because how else are we supposed to know how this works - and Si Te are like, helpless and clueless until Ne-Fi feel like they got this. And they never will. Somehow when you said "I hadn't done much, I had moved my fingers across these buttons ... the amount of brain exhaustion I experienced was unsurpassed", that immediately brought up the memories of like every paperwork in my life ever. It is a perfect description of what it is like for me. But somehow society wont let you live until you have the paperwork game figured out. So I need to solve this one way or another.

I'd end up with the same issue as you if we were doing the same job. As INTP, I'm Consume first (I just worked it out), yet: 4:30 From what you told me, because I have to take in so much information, pressing the switch forces me to decide, and starters are bad at this. It's an information overload. 5:34 You physically haven't done much, but I interpret it this way: When the timing of switching the cameras could be crucial, it bothers me, too. It bothers you because it may be boring. It bothers me because I worry that I may miss something if I switch cameras at the wrong time. This feels worse when I'm Fe as the 4th function. My fear of failure could be overwhelming enough that I may not deciding not to do anything.

I'm not familiar enough with OP to know for sure, but I think I'm high consume as an INFP. I love learning new things and rarely feel like I know enough about a topic to teach it. I do feel I have a pretty good attention span though. The camera job sounds like fun to me!

Lol, that just sounds horribly mind numbing! Not Consume last, but consume 3rd. For me it feels like being berated by the sensory... Idk how much you had to sight read as a cellist but as a pianist and vocalist anything overly consume feels like trying to accurately sight read a fast passed piece of music... (Which I guess is consume in itself😂)

When an INTJ really likes someone: Will an INTJ strive for a relationship and chase after a person they want to be with , in a romantic way? based on their theory that it’s what they need and it’s effective to have them in life and all the facts show that this relationship makes perfect sense? Will they jump up it to then find out their theory is wrong because the relationship was no as expected? Will they redefine the theory or remove that goal?

With consume on the top I can see myself having fun with figuring out how best to do this camera switching. At the same time I think I would be mildly annoyed that I would have to consider what is "the good looking angle", I have no idea how one is supposed to figure that out.

I understood everything you said but still didnt register in my brain...very noticeable disconnect with these concepts with my high consume... Constantly telling me..." Why not consume"? Or whatever its telling and saying to me.

As a Blast-last, I'd rather be lower in Consume lol But I can still relate to having bad Se skills like being aware of my present surroundings (I have feminine demon Si)

You should try working at the meatworks doing the same 4-5 hand movements for two years. the best part is you pretty much get minimum wage. I like to think my consume is high and im extremely resiliant but even i started laughing uncontrollably while carving sheep lungs off their breathing tubes even tho nothing was funny. I really need too somehow find a way to get non labouring jobs to hire me 🤔.

Oh that's why sensory is a pita.
