I've never watched a complete convention before. I'm Canadian and up until Trump, I paid little attentuion to American politics. This time is different. I'm sincerely hoping Harris /Walz win for the sake of Americas' democracy. Trump wants to be a despot. This ovation for Joe Biden was very moving .

On the whole, there are NO POLITICIANS on the planet that care more about the welfare of their constituents and their country than the US Democrats. If they have not achieved what countless industrialized countries in Europe (like universal health care, for example, free university education, governmental financial child support for each child) have offered to their citizens for decades (Germany was the first country in the world initiating universal health care in the 1880's) it is because Republicans have continued to block progress in this and other areas that would make for a better America so that the "great country" myth would be a reality, not just a myth that Republicans want you to believe in order to keep Americans content with their lot.
