There is no threat to democracy...yet. That threat will be realized if Harris is elected president. Why? Because Americans will no longer be free to speak their opinion. The rights of unborn babies will not exist, the poor will stay poor but they will be controlled my government programs that will be paid for by the middle class. The rich will still take their deductions and pay lower taxes, and the rich, of which there are many Democrats ,including Clinton, Bernie Sanders, K. Harris and the Bidens, George Soros, and others, will still live their wealthy lifestyles. Do not lament American fighting for Democracy, Democracy will only survive if the socialists are kicked out of office.

I loved having John Lewis quoted. He sacrificed so much for this country. I tried to see how he did not get stuck in anger, but carried on with hope. I was so outraged with the insurretion. I was so outraged that Trump refused to wear a mask when there was no vaccine to orotect against Covid. I was outraged when he called military men and woman losers and suckers. I was outraged at his racism. I was outraged with his disrespect for women. And I did not want to stay in anger because that is not a good life. So I read all of John Lewis' books to try to see how he did it. I once read a book written by an OBGYN doctor who worked in Israel , but lived in Palestine. His house was destroyed and his family was killed, and he said I will not hate. I cannot imagine that , but I was curious. We have to pursue peace, and we cannot stay forever in hate. I sorrow at all the innocents killed recently. So few leaders cause so much death and suffering. The majority of the people in this world do not want this lack of peace. We much pursue it.

My impression is that you are working with old concepts that have no basis in modern neurosciences and neuropychology. Start by reading a book like Descartes' Error, by Prof. Antonio Damasio.
