Memories of Derry City 

I love Ireland and this was my first time in Derry and it stole a piece of my heart. The Town I Loved So Well is one of my favourite songs and walking the walls and the streets with so much history really brought the song to life. It's hard to believe that the city's 'Troubles' were so few years ago with such a tranquillity about it now, but the murals on the walls are a reminder of the darker times. The Peace Bridge, the Peace Flame, and the many memorials, murals, and statues marking peace after the troubled times are good to see. The people of Derry are friendly and welcoming and as a pedestrian I have to say that Derry has some of the most considerate drivers I have ever come across. Derry, it was a lovely 3 days and I hope it's not too long before I can return and see more of your amazing city. The music is Derry's song 'The Town I Loved So Well' written by Derry man Phil Coulter, performed here by The High Kings with the amazing vocal of Darren Holden. The song was recorded for their 'Four Friends Live album/DVD at the Millennium Forum in Derry during May 2014.
