Memories of Oakington Barracks. 

Fond memories when there in 1976 onwards with the Fusiliers .

I think it was early summer 93 we were kindly allowed to use this base to test a tiny single seat fuel efficiency car - by the gate there were some 20 odd young military lads in boiler suits made to stand to attention - when we left at the end of the afternoon they were still there - apparently they had got in a fight in the local village bar busting it up and this was their punishment - odd ecentric base comander he had a kind of kids scooter with a put put engine on and cane - folk soluted him has he wizzed about showing us where we could test the car. Happy days

Vampires and meteors....those were the days.
