Memorizing the NATO Phonetic Alphabet (QUICKLY!)

The Phonetic Alphabet is used in many different domains, but in short, it's a standard list of words to represent all the letters of the alphabet in order to remove any ambiguity about them.
Think of when you're on the phone with a customer rep and you're trying to tell them a series of letters. Most people go, "A is for Alexander, B is for Bouncy Castle, etc." and just make up whatever comes to mind. But did you know there's an official list of words?
Here is how to memorize the ACTUAL list (the one officially used by pilots, for example).
Also, this video is a bit of insight into how I memorize things on the fly. You'll see me learn the Phonetic Alphabet in real time. Enjoy!

My time was similar, about 5 minutes. I came up with my own way of remembering it by creating a story associated with each of the words, e.g. for letters A - F, I created a story of an alpha male sitting in a theater shouting bravo to Charlie Sheen who is up on stage dressed as a delta soldier and the sound of the alpha male cheering bravo is echoing around the theater and then a fox trots across the stage past Charlie Sheen. Total I came up with 4 short stories to memorize it.

My story was a bit simple, there are six friends Alpha,Bravo,Charlie,Delta,Ech(Echo) and Foxtrot playing golf in a hotel which is in India. While their wives Julliet, kilo,Lima are singing on a mic(Mike) in the month of November while their cooks Oscar, papa,Quebec,Romeo and Sierra are preparing tango ,also they have an uniform which has a symbols of V(Victor),whiskey,x-ray and their uniform's brand is Yankee and zulu

Interesting to watch- I'm a ham radio operator as of ~6.5 years ago, which actually requires me to learn it for my voice-mode transmissions. In the words of our local club net monitors, "Please call now, *phonetically* [i.e. using this list] and slowly."

This is how I remembered it: There is a dude named Alpha he says Bravo a lot, mr. Charlie lives in a Delta. If you Echo, you can hear the Foxtrot. There is a Golf resort in a Hotel that is in India. Juliet is from India but she doesn't use Kilo. You know who likes Lima bean? Mike likes them especially in November. Oscar has a Papa in Quebec. Romeo lives in Sierra, he loves to do the Tango with his girlfriend, especially if his girlfriend is in her lifeguard Uniform. There is this dude named Victor, he sure loves his Whisky and X-ray just because he is a Yankee and a Zulu. If you take all the words that are capitalized ( Except the beginning of sentences) that would be your alphabet. I already organized them for you.

About 10 minutes, and I borrowed a lot of yours but switched up some others (hotel, juliet, romeo, and tango... come to think of it, those have an interesting theme! 😂). I have literally wanted to know this for more effective phone conversations for my entire life, but I had no strategies before so I kinda sorta knew half of them, but not solid like this. Something tells me I’ll never forget now! For the name of your viewers, I keep thinking “Dilly dalliers” because of your last name and how ironic of a name that would be for your audience. It also sounds kinda hip-hop in a geeky way (like you 🤓)!

Hi from Brazil, Nelson Dellis. After seeing a lot of videos of memorizing techniques here and other chanel, it seems that there are no more new tecnics to show but you are doing something really cool that it is showing how you apply, what you are thinking during the memorization process. Please I'd like to see you memorizing information from a newspaper story (with names, numbers...) using the techniques. Nice work, Nelson. Thank you so much.

you did a video before on being a polyglot and knowing how to say hello and goodbye, and what's weird is that my 26th location for that image was also an african image of swahari. zulu and swahari were in the same spot.
