Memphis always came hard as fuck for music period but especially rap. Back in the early three 6, Tommy wright, 8 ball & mjg, project pat, lil Wyte, frayser boy, etc… Memphis really was ahead of they time. Key Glock one of my favorite youngins out, dolph is simple but has some hard ass songs, moneybagg doin his thang.

Memphis rap was the blue print to a lot of rappers at one time back in the day to stay relevant and a lot of rappers to this day are still riding that wave and either imbrace it or don’t even relise it cus it’s that molded into rap music. Not to sound biased cus it’s where I’m from but I don’t think rap would be the same with out all those rappers from Memphis u talked about making there own vibe that was that contagious to still be in the rap game today is un heard of and some of those rappers aren’t even that big name so for it to reach that many ears before internet took off it wasn’t so much the rapper so to speak always it was that Memphis type rap sound that people not familiar would be able to point out And Drake paying his respects bringing that choppy slowed down unique flow back in 2021 to his new album just shows the impact it had on the Rap world. I could talk all day bout how much influence Memphis had on the rap game!!

If you ain’t never heard of the Dayton family I highly suggest you check ‘em out. They’re from Flint and had an unique style too. If they coulda stayed they’re asses outta trouble they woulda blew up way more than they did.
