Just to be fair, the questioning about the black vs white person thing is a dumb question to touch upon racial preference on. There aren’t enough controls for the question for it to not end up being argued to be a racially charged criticism, so it is more of a trap question than the bear vs man question. Although Andrew’s logic to the question would make sense and hold water, the problem with the way it is being assessed even from his standpoint is that he is being absent of controls and allowing both subjective and objective metrics to identify a person’s answer, therein disqualifying his “refusal of racism”. Example: She could have grown up in a predominantly black suburb in a conservative-backed city. It could be argued from her perspective that her experience with black men is better than with white men with regard to hostile action. That claim cannot be discounted by Andrew’s notion about overall criminality for it does not apply to the personal understanding or experience forthwith to her. It leads to a bad faith argument about potential racism when even the mechanisms to argue for or against it are clearly subjective without a proper setup. The question would be better framed with “would you prefer being in a room with an urban black man, or a rural white man”. In this condition, now we have varying degrees of criminality to pull from that could better validate a perspective on it and potentially poke holes on subjective bias vs brainwashed racism or pandering.
