Many moons ago, the "Golden Girls" won gold in the women 4x100m and put 242 the Bahamas on the map, since then, the Bahamas have medal in many individual and relay events...Tonique Williams-Darling and Miller-Uibo Olympic women 400m, the men high jump, Olympic gold in the men's 4x400m, Derrick Atkins medals in the World Championships 100m, even I won silver in the 100m at the CAC games and now, my countryman Steve Gardner is continuing to keep the Bahamas on the track and field international map. And for all those Bahamian athletes that did not had a chance to win an international medal but still contributed to the sport to what it is today, thank you and 242 STRONG!!!
Gardener so smooth, with Michael Johnson posture. A no-panic racing style. And Zambrano with the frantic closing power. Cool race. Hopefully Kirani James can recover from his bouts of illness and get back to full form; Graves’ disease is no joke. Amazing run under those circumstances.
too bad it had the worst attendance. IAAF was stupid to take the event out of the summer and placing it in september when everyone had school or work. It couldve been a really spectacular WC.
It looks like he's still pushing...and he leans at the line. It looks like he struggles with lactic at the end of some of his races. I think if he increased his stride length that would decrease the amount of lactic.
塗宜昆 bro I’m gonna be honest with you. Gardiner won the gold because Michael Norman was injured and Wayde was absent and couldn’t defend his title. I don’t say that Gardiner isn’t good, he is very good he is one of the best but because the very best were absent he came first.
Tokyo 2021 400m final will be legendary with Wayde van Niekerk, Michael Norman, Steven Gardiner, Fred Kerley and many more to reach their prime. Too bad not more people find the 400m as exciting as the 100 and 200
Niekirk was absent : couldn't qualify for final. Kerley chose to run 100meters and Mike 'Stormin ' Norman couldn't live up to all the American hype and had to settle for 5th FIFTH. STEVEN GARDINER from the Bahamas obliterated the field in Tokyo !!
@@dereckdean578 Gardiner is gonna dominate the 400m for the coming years if he stays healthy he's an amazing athlete and Norman........ he continues to disappoint me can't tell you how much cash I lost because of him.....
I’ve ran almost all distances(up to half marathon) and 400m is the worst, it squeezes everything out of you. At competitions, only for 400m I would get sensitive to light for about 30-120min after finishing.
Lilian I always felt the 8 was the worst having run 400-5k in high school. The 8 always took a little more mental strength for me. After running a 62 sec lap knowing u gotta do it again sucks ass lol
Island Stylin ' After the Bahamian athlete initiated the Double Clutch , the rest of the field appeard to be running backwards . What a convincing and.somewhat humiliating win . Congrats to the youngColumbian athlete and USA for 2'nd and 3 'rd respectively. OUTSTANDING RUN MR. STEVEN GARDINER
I believe that if Gardenier worked on his last 50m he will go below 43:30. He practically shuts it down and ran so fast. What a battle it will be between Wayde, Gardenier and Norman for the Olympics next year
ALL PARTICIPANTS IS SUPER ENERGY FULL, PRACTICE FULL, TECHNICAL FULL, STAMINA FULL, POWERFUL FULL AND STRONG FULL................... IN THIS SITUATION WINER IS SUPER WONDERFUL...........
400m is pretty much the only distance where you see people collapsse from exhaustion after the finish. Marathon, 10k, 5k etc they just keep on running like "oh, it's over already, no big deal, I'm good, I still have plenty of energy" lol...
Norma pulled out in his first heat at the 300m mark because he said he could feel an injury coming and didn't want to aggravate it with the Olympics so close. Little did he know it would be pushed back a year 😭
@@talkaborit3320 that’s not how it works. Is is this the common wealth final? No. It’s the world championship final. South Africa is in the common wealth. And the world record holder is south Afrivan, so he would have the Area record common wealth African etc
El continente Americano tiene los mejores corredores de 400 mts desde hace décadas! Todos en la Final sin importar de qué país son pertenecen a América
