This is one of the reasons track and field will always be undervalued. This happened in 2016 and we got an hd video of it from an official channel, 5 years later.
It's pretty obvious to me, Powell came 2nd, the commentators select to dismiss this initially coz they're always hell bent on casting down Powell as a non performer...but for sure... Credit belongs to the man in the arena
Finally been waiting for this for years because the only way we could watch it before was by watching low quality clips. Also Powell should of won that race who else agrees.
I agree 1000%. Heck he should've broken the world record here. I remember watching the American coverage of this race and Ato Bolden said this world record should've been his a long time ago
@@khumokwezimashapa2245 I agree and it annoys me so much he didn't win. And in my opinion if in his prime (of 2007/08) he could've broken the 60m WR if he competed in it more often because his start and first 5 meters is the best ever.
@@sullyo6068 no I mean he should've won but didn't because Bromell managed to beat him due to Powell buckling under pressure but still Bromell is a great sprinter. I just meant Powell had the fastest times in the Heats and Semis and everyone thought he would win but he didn't even though he should of because he was running such fast times before.
Sad that this was posted years later, Bromell has been plagued with injuries in the last few years hopefully he is healthy for 2021 Tokyo. Would love to see him and Andre de Grasse race against each other again.
@@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 A man of his raw talent should have had more individual global golds. He should have at least won gold at the 2007 Worlds in Osaka.
@@onigbajamo no , the commonwealth games are at a commonwealth stage (only countries in the commonwealth can compete) , a global stage is worlds and olympics (countries GLOBALLY can compete)
