As much as I love David Rudisha in London 2012, I find this 800m Olympic victory to be even more inspiring. Yes, he broke the World record for his first Olympic gold but to return 4 years later,, having had knee surgery less than 1 year before, and win with style, is incredibly inspiring. Whenever I start to doubt myself, if I can reach my next goal, I only have to think of this incredible athlete and go for it.

@@lansley8621 Not developed countries, but developed cities with lots of people and tourists. For example, Beijing did extremely well even though China has asymmetrical development withing the country. We can actually just choose some cities around the world and rotate the event. We can add some and remove others depending on the circumstances. This way facilities would easier to maintain instead of making white elements.

Man , Makhloufi is so looked over , it hurts . when u know the man trains himself, its quite impressive. he won London’s 1500 Gold . and Runs remarkable given his not very thin Body . yes,Kudos to his perseverance.

@@billtev9846 in some ways, i agree with bill. guy ran a way too fast first lap, so no one else made a move. then, rudisha got prime position in 2nd lane right behind the teammate. It was his break to make. Rest of the field waited, rudisha got to break when he wanted, and boom. gold medal.

I think he was acting as pace maker for Rudisha. His job was to maintain a fast pace through the first 400m then fade

I think kipketer threw the gauntlet down to foil any pre-race rudisha-personalised tactics. He's the sacrificial lamb 🐑 that helped Rudisha to run with ease and peace of mind. Let me support my case- at some point past the bell kipketer slowed down to allow David to take over but on a second thought, he continues speeding on the bed till the homestretch when now David took charge of the race....on another day, kipketer would have won the race

My best PR for the 800 meters is a 1:48.96 on the collegiate scene to finish second in the NCAA Track & Field Championships. I cannot image running a 1:42.15 time!!

Makhloufi the second placed Athlete , is so underrated. He gets so much hate for no reason . the man works his behind off , and medaled in London , 1500 Gold and in Rio . trains himself with little to none support from his own government. he could’ve easily went to represent another country ( IE Qatar or even France) , but he didn’t. Massive respect Toufik Makhloufi.
