These writers think "muscular women aren't part of the cultural beauty paradigm, and my attraction to them counts as a fetish, so it's not technically sexualizing them."
A recent one I listened to on audiobook was Girl on the Train and it was pretty good because the main character was an alcoholic who had put on a lot of weight who sort of spied on people out the train windows. She was idolizing some other chick who was super pretty, but the chick turned out to be a real mess herself. No one was 'special' at the end of the day and it was actually a pretty good story. I like it when people can just be people, even if they're hiding secrets or whatever. I definitely notice the difference between that and say, Harlan Coben females. Every female he writes is 'so special and unique and only the main male character could appreciate how special and unique she is' and yeah she stuffs her face with food and never gains an ounce of fat on her perfect slim supermodel body which is so sweet and endearing, and doesn't wear makeup which only accentuates her natural stunning beauty, haha. and he was the only man who could truly love her of course :p
@@hinamiravenroot7162 it's a fine line. Because ordinary people, with flaws and problems etc, can still end up in crazy situations or on the run from the law or learning magic or whatever depending on the genre. It's when you make the character perfect in every way to the extent it's unrealistic, and even their flaws are just cute little quirks, then make the crazy stuff happen to them - it's just too much and makes a book pretty boring for many people, mostly because it's so unrealistic? It's not about the activities they're doing, but about how the person is being characterized if that makes sense :)
The coffee part is so true, here's a quote from a book I'm reading right now. "Nola was a lot taller than Birdie, had skin the colour of coffee with lots of cream stirred in" . . .
@@bake-kurage indeed. ‘It was made from the softest, creamiest milk I had ever seen, in fact it was from my most recent interest…although I had never felt this way about anyone before..’
"She smoked French cigarettes and sometimes she disappeared for days, but I knew she would always come back and I loved her for it, for her wild, mysterious nature"
@@diamond_dogs dont forget that she wears her hair in a ponytail, so she can change it and remove the glasses to become hot and popular at around 40% of the movie because one of the popular kids, usually a boy, has to get together with her because of a dare or something similar just so she can have a "popular" new peer group who she thinks she belongs to now, but they are actually kind of mean, just to realize at 80% of the movie that her old friends she started to treat like shit are the real friends after she found out that the popular guy just cared for her becuase of a dare and she can get a 3. look that is a mix up of the ponytail glasses look and the sexy look and now at 95% of the movie she gets together with the guy who used her again because he caught feelings for her and she changed him for the better because thats how it works apparently and now everyone is happy ever after exept the "popular" peer group since she got revenge on them somehow.
There is never an appropriate amount of freckles. Freckles are adorable. You can never have too many freckles. Lots of freckles are adorable, and only a few freckles are also adorable
Just like when Burger King posted on twitter that "women belong in the kitchen" trying to be inclusive by saying that they hire a lot of women. But yeah that didn't turn out well.
As a Wattpad writer imma have to disagree. Not because you're wrong, but because I've read stories that are hundreds of times worse at descriptions. Trust me. This is too good to be Wattpad.
"Her eyes were bright, sparkling green gems, full of light. But inside those pupils, I can vividly see a fragment of myself in them, 'Perhaps she also went through the same pain...? No, she was liked by everyone, regardless of status, age or gender, she wouldn't experience those difficulties...'. I failed to notice that saddened gaze, I hope I saw them sooner..."
“fragile in terms of thinness , yet no alot , i dont care , she also had a rare disease which stops the growth of her hair of hands and legs **only** ”
A line like appropriate amount of freckles is the most woman writer line I've ever heard. I thought she was making a joke about writing a self insert character until I read the title.
I love how they write about women wearing vintage t-shirts with bands on the or whatever, but when we actually wear them, they freak out and are like “Oh my god! Name 3 songs, metal music is for men only.” Blah blah blah, it’s so annoying
Women writing female character: She was so beautiful, she was a slaying queen. She dressed well and used a lot of makeup, but not to impress people but for herself. Arriving home she always cleaned the makeup, took down the annoying shoes and changed to ugly pijamas. Its cuz she dont have anymore to impress anyone. Queen!
Fun Fact the main company that supplies hotel chains with those bibles made a statement where they consider it a "success" when a hotel bible is taken.
She was average height not too tall and not too short, her shape was like a perfect hourglass, her breasts reminded me of two perfectly modest grapefruits, her small waist and curvy hips complimented her voluptuous figure which tapered down to her petite shoes, which happened to be converse high tops. She couldn't see how beautiful she was, but I could, I was that only one who could see her for the true jewel she is.
She was not like other girls. While most girls have two legs, she had four. Her fur was always glowing and her tail always swung with beautiful natural energy. I love my cat ❤
She was not like other girls. Instead of borrowing and never returning my sweaters, she just sat on them. While they were still in the closet, of course.
- She is not like any other girls. She always playing hard to get. Whenever I call out her name, she would never come to me. She never even bother to look at me. I even try calling out her name while shaking a box of food but, the result are still the same. She can't be bought by anything, not even food! Though, that make her a brave, unique, strong independent woman. I truly love my cat. (Oh my stars, I didn't notice how long I actually wrote this and this litreally turn into a freaking paragraph. I apologise for that.)
She was not like other girls. Most girls would chew me out for doing things they wouldn’t approve. But my cat girl would only chew on my face when I died. She was courteous and patient like that, always staring at me, willing death upon me, despite the hearty heap of tuna I left in her bowl everyday.
"She was short and petite and weak. She was skinny but not too skinny ,she was curvy in the right amount and places... Her bright amber eyes and her honey like skin shined in the sun , making her look like a fallen angel....Her soft and bright smile with her rosey lips lit up the whole place . She looked like a enchanting princess. She looked no different from the models in the magazine , but she didn't care about things like that .. she was different .....she was .....unique .
"not a single person noticed her, except for me" accurate but i bet you there'll still be at least 5 scenes of everyone in the room turning their heads and whispering about her natural beauty, some random guy hitting on her, some variant of SA that is offensively downplayed, multiple comments on her body by random male characters who just have to let the protag know how hot his companion is
And she will be so innocent and naive that she won't notice they are hitting on her and she just doesn't realize how attractive she really is and as he would be a knockout if she tried as little
My favorite "men writing female characters" will always be the first time I bumped into that category of meme, and it was the "She breasted boobily" paragraph. I cackled for probably 20 minutes straight, with a friend I had at the time. If you've not read it I strongly encourage you to do so.
“She had no personality beyond shrugging and biting her lip, in fact she didn’t even say more than one word sentences, but she was unique. She was mysterious.”
“Not a single person noticed her, except for me, because I could see her bra band sitting so high on her back it’s ridiculous you really really need a different bra and I don’t want to sound like a creep it just drives me crazy how uncomfortable that’s got to be.”
@@courtneyj9906 idk if you'd want that once you find out the actual harm lack of period does to our actual body and health, not having period doesn't only mean inability to bear children. It's terrifying once i learnt about it.
They don't talk to her because she is .. Different. She doesn't fit in. Other girls talk behind her back. But everyone knows her and admires her secretly.
@@xxqueenofdarkness "there's something just so special about her and only I know it. I know because I've spent the whole night under her bed......just watching...how beautiful she is"
“Her skin was like a cup of coffee that was mostly milk because she was white.” That made me laugh. Not exhale out of my nose, but like properly laugh. Peak comedy.
As soon as they said coffee skin I was like holdup they actually have someone with dark skin in a book?! Then they said lots of milk I just chuckled. I should have known lol
I love how you just gave up on typing and just started to move your hands in all sorts of different directions😂😂😂 I love all your content and find it really funny and entertaining to watch❤
You forget to mention her perfect C cups, shimmering blue orbs, and her tan and toned legs. Her hair was thick and blonde and fell like a perfect curtain down her back. She had such perfect hair, there was never a split end or a tangle. She never had to brush her hair, and she woke up in the morning with a dewy glow, bronzer and mascara already applied by the makeup fairies the night before. Oh and she was a 25 year old virgin nympho too.
Nice writing! Exactly! Although I can go without the "bronze" as White as snow legs are preferable. The Whiter the better. Low melanin = nectar of the gods.
Excellent comment & sorry to be pedantic, but the lights of the auroras are caused by solar activity reacting with gases high in the atmosphere. Nothing to do with weather.
It’s with people now adding fake freckles in make up looks but the right amount, just enough to look pretty but not too much because that’s too much freckles
@@bigpulgalokes there’s no such thing as too many freckles lmao. they’re just melanin spots that people used to hate and are now drawing onto their skin
@@serene3175 i'm being sarcastic. I'm saying beauty bloggers who add freckles to be quirky, but they add the right about because they don't actually want too many freckles, that would be an imperfection and you know they don't want that.
I've always loved freckles. I wish I had freckles or red hair or different colored eyes, also I raised an eyebrow at " an appropriate amount of freckles ". There is no such things as an appropriate amount for physical features.
