Man I’m 37 years old and I’ve been a mechanic for 17 years and I’ve literally never heard of Menards until very recently. I live in the United States we simply just don’t have them here, so thanks man. It was cool to actually get to see the inside of one of these for the first time.
Yeah never argued the fact it was in the United States.. just saying it’s not in the southeast. At least not in North Carolina or Georgia..and by upper mid west? You mean Canada??🤷♂️
You said you live in the US not the south. Upper Midwest is WI, MN, MI, the Dakotas. Menards hasn’t gotten too far out of the Midwest but it’s slowly spreading.
Love that you can buy tools individually. It’s one of the only stores I have locally that does this, and at an affordable price. So when you need to make a special and modify a wrench or socket, master force it is. Plus they’re open basically every day of the year.
Hello CP& HENRY: Thank you for this Menards video & bringing it to our attention. Here in N.J. Menards is not here but man is that store clean & very well organized. If the chain was here in NJ I would not hesitate to go there. The stores here have a lot of empty shelves & the organization is like a 2 year old did it or a manager from the old Crapsman chain. Thanks again for the road trip I truly appreciated all of your time ,and efforts. God Bless & my best to, HENRY. TMP from N.J. 🙏
Another Jersey guy here and I wish any of our options were even close to this store. Everytime I want/need something from HD or Lowe's , out of stock. There sister atpres an hr away may have but it turns into a project.
@@Anthony-wj6xb Thank you Anthony for your kind words. No matter what we trying to do turns into one huge pain in the ass 😕. The last time I was in Lowes I beged 4 separate store employees for help & they just give a S it. Well I really had enough & I got really loud & man did I blew a gasket. Not one manager or employee came to help but they called securely. The store didn't give a crap why I was angry but they took my picture & said if I ever came back they were going to file trespass charges on me with the police. I HOPE LOWES GOES BANKRUPT !!!!! TMP from N.J 🙏.
Another thing that I really like from Menards is the 3-piece silicone parts organizer trays. Under $20 for all three. I find myself at one of my local Menards stores at least once a week.
I have a good selection of Allen branded impsct sockets that Menards used to carry before going dull hig on the Masterforce sockets. I bought them when i was starting out, because it was rhe only way i could afford jumbos bsck then, still havent broken one, and ive added afew Masterforce to that line up over the years.
From New York City and just order my 3rd box and glad it was a master force 36”x24” gunmetal green. I’m really really late to the master force game but better late then never!
Yeah, those screwdrivers you were talking about used to be made in the USA by Armstrong I believe before Apex manufactured their Taiwanese/Chinese hand tools now and days. I once saw those USA screwdrivers in the clearance isle, I should've grabbed those at that time. I own a toolset and some other hand tools that are masterforce branded, they seem to be decent enough for doing DIY repairs.
I recently checked out the master force toolboxes at Menards and was very impressed. I also was surprised to see that they carried some Greenlee and Knipex pliers in store… Go Menards!
I like menards also. The master force tool boxea are much better than hf i do not care what da bear said. Master force cordless tools are made by chevron who makes flex and kobslt. I have found gearwrench on sale at Menards also. The customer sevice at my local mensrds is fantastic as good as texton. More menstds videos
Unfortunately we don't have Menards in the Northeast. Their socket aisle looks well stocked and you can buy individual sockets! I've noticed that a lot of tools that were Taiwan made are now replaced with China made. Tools made in India are starting to creep in now.
Thanks for the video CP. We don't have a Menards in my neck of the woods, so it was cool to check it out. Looks like it'd be pretty hard to walk outta there without buying something! Good stuff.
My "Battle Box" is that triangle box. The only issue i have with it is the lock froze after a year, but, as shown in my video, it was in standing water and kept everything dry.
I have the 72" masterforce box and ive had it for about 10 months and its been great holds everything i need as a heavy duty mechanic. I just wish they would be deeper but for the price point and quality they are great.
CP, they still have the occasional USA made tools in the clearance section. That's where I got my USA Masterforce stuff here in Illinois. The pry bars are still USA. If it's USA made, there's a flag on the front of the packaging and "Made in USA"
I highly, highly recommend the Masterforce boxes. I have a 30" bottom and one of their 16" side cabinets. Six years ago I bought my son the 41" top and bottom for his starter box. It is fully loaded and has held up extremely well. And that pull out work surface is boss. We use it all the time working on his Harley and Victory. As you say, the price is almost unbelievable. Solid, solid boxes. And yeah, sad to watch them phase out the USA hand tools. Has been painful to watch. Just 7 or 8 years ago, most of the Masterforce hand tools were made in USA. I kind of took it for granted. They actually put it on clearance when they made the Asia move and the deals were amazing while they lasted. I bought one of those seats on sale last year. It's great.
I have the one he recommended as a starter box with a side locker on it. It is an incredible box for the value and I used a ton of rebates on it so it only cost me like 500-700 for everything.
I literally picked up my 72" masterforce yesterday. I had 2 US Generals 41" & 27" and 1 41" masterforce. I sold both of my us general and bought the masterforce because I think it's a step above the others for the money. I remember watching a video with Dot (bear) saying that the us general was better and from then on out I knew he was a shill for hf.
The best part is that you can get even better deals on stuff like Knipex when they run their brown paper bags discount. Anything you fit in the bag, you get a big 15% instant discount on. You can re-use the bag as many times as you want. There's also the 11% rebate which they run most of the summer.
the fit and finish on them boxes look mint and them casters too ...... and I loke teh slides and teh pop handles I like them masterforce boxes the proformax dont look all the Impressive .. holy cow I did not know there line was that comprehensive its almost a on stop shop for your any mechanic Screw harbor freight man go to Menards better tools better deals better warranty I bet
The Performax boxes are a tad overpriced. The Masterforce boxes are really really nice. Masterforce tools were largely made in the USA up until around 2015 or 16. The sockets used to be made by Allen if I remember right. It's a shame. Tool Shop is equivalent to Harbor Freight Pittsburg. Masterforce is okay. The sockets are decent quality. I've used their chrome sockets with an impact without issue. Haven't used their wrenches since I have a full set of Wright wrenches. You can get great deals when products go on sale during their 11% rebate, you got the sale price and then an additional rebate on that sale price.
Hey CP. I’ve heard good things about Montezuma! In your opinion how do you think they are? I have the snap on heavy duty cart coming to me within The next couple weeks Thanks for the videos they’re great.
They are way better than icon boxes I personally own the side locker side cabinet of 56-in chest and a 56-in bottom roll cap Best box for DIY weekend warrior and I work on vehicles out of my garage on the side from my normal job they blow every harbor freight toolbox out of the water
Meanards hand tools when they first came was made in usa the same as crapsman made by apex group. And yes the screwdrivers used to be made by PrattRead. It is pretty wild the sell 3/4 DR. Meanards is definitely putting a hurtin on home dumpo only home dumpo has is milwaukee.
Kind of funny CP, you embracing Menards. Not sure why when you hate ...you know who. I don't think I would buy much there, but I'm with you on the screwdrivers you picked up. I have a short shaft, wide bladed Snap-on with a beefy black hard handle that I love, but it's getting a little old...1980. Maybe you could warranty it out for me. Driver won't give me the time of day when i ask about warranty. But he did take my money last week for the tiny 1/4" flex head ratchet, and the smaller of the newer, but never in stock needle nose.
BTW for most who dont know!!?? MASTERFORCE IS OWNED AND MADE BY CHERVON!!! WHO MAKES FLEX KOBALT AND SKIL!! Notice the Kobalt blue here and the more Flex color tool boxes etc.... Ur basically buying relabled FLEX KOBALT SKIL ETC!! But u can often buy say Flex quality tools under the MF label for much cheaper!! Chervon makes damned fine tools!!!
