Dmitri Mendeleev is known as the “father of the periodic table”. It was due to his endeavors at the classification that we have our current periodic table. Mendeleev started his work in the 1800s when 63 elements were known to chemists. So Mendeleev first noted down the chemical properties of all the 63 elements on cards.
He had noticed a relation between atomic masses of elements and their chemical and also physical properties. He observed that there was a periodic re-occurrence of elements with similar properties. So Mendeleev arranged these elements in a grid, that we today know as a periodic table. Mendeleev stated that “properties of elements are the periodic function of their atomic masses” and this came to be known as Periodic Law.

Another advantage of Mendeleev’s table was that it was the first table that was able to classify all known elements of his time.

Interesting to note that Periodic Table seems to mirror our 7 Day Calendar, 7 Days, then the new day is the 8th Day, and it starts over again. Paradoxically, elements in the same group appeared after a fixed number of elements. Our 7 Day Calendar seems to Follow Mendeleev's Law of Octaves.

mam everything outstanding, the mendeleev theory proposed in 1869, so you said at that time noble gases are not there but newland law of octate was proposed in 1865 but you said noble gases destroyed the newland theory.....please explain mee

It was not just because of noble gases but the Newlands law of octaves had some other limitations to that is why it was not accepted and when the noble gases were discovered, it became a mess.
