A very nice, emotional rendering of the Italian symphony. The audio is impeccable and synchrony preserved in spite of social distancing. The Santa Cecilia and Gardiner perfect as usual. The video is nice. Only merit of the Covid is that no one coughs from the public (there is no public). Many thanks yse ysad.
L'Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, secondo il mio modesto parere, è la migliore orchestra italiana. Vorrei poter vedere molti video, come accade per altre orchestre straniere.
You can hear the tradition going back through Marriner, Beecham and Boult in Gardiner. Impeccable. There seems to be a parallel Czech tradition, going back to the group round Dvorak, and with Tallich as a seminal figure. Then Kubilek, Ancerl et al. Luks and Hrusa are pretty amazing members of the currently active generations. Just NOT showy. Great musical integrity.
